RE: Kyurem Came From a Meteorite, and Eats Humans and Pokemon

I don't think that Freeze Bolt and Cold Flare are event-only moves, but maybe specific form moves, like Rotom.
There might be a yellow-tinted one that has Freeze Bolt, and one that has Cold Flare, and is red.
Or, maybe an orange form with both?

RE: Kyurem Came From a Meteorite, and Eats Humans and Pokemon

You know, GF most likely won't go into the fact that it eats humans and Pokemon. It just wouldn't be suitable for younger children playing the game.

(Trying not to mini-mod here) And wasn't this thread called 'Kyurem Came From a Meteorite, and Eats Humans and Pokemon', not 'Lets discuss about a new forme Kyurem could have'?

Anyway, just because Pt had a new forme for a Legendary, does not mean Gen.5 will have one. Just saying.

The only things that could mean new formes are Freeze Bolt and Cold Flare, and those are only moves, not mysterious items that serve an unkown purpose. (Though an item could let Kyurem get those moves)

RE: Kyurem Came From a Meteorite, and Eats Humans and Pokemon

^Yesss... Back on topic. They had better keep the evil munchy monster legend.

RE: Kyurem Came From a Meteorite, and Eats Humans and Pokemon

I think that Kyurem will gain its moves from a special person kind of how the one person teaches Melotta (no where close with spelling on this one) Ancient Song. Then Kyurem will learn his special moves.

RE: Kyurem's mythological significance

I am saying this now, Kyurem is 100% related to Reshiram and Zekrom, and will be the 3rd game mascot. Kyurem can learn two currently unknown moves, called Freeze Bolt and Cold Flare, Bolt meaning electric(relating to Zekrom), and Flare meaning fire(relating to Reshiram). Now why on earth did Game Freak give Kyurem part electric and fire type attacks, when Kyurem is Dragon-ice type. Bulbapedia is also stating that Kyurem is related to the Black and White dragons, and calling them the tao trio.

RE: Kyurem's mythological significance

^I know kyurem is related to them. The question is how it is related.

RE: Kyurem's mythological significance

Like many others have speculated, Kyurem could be the dragon that Reshiram and Zekrom split in half from, and that were once a single powerful dragon Pokemon?

RE: Kyurem's mythological significance

Moved "Kyurem's mythological significance" to B/W forum, merged with existing Kyurem thread.

If Kyurem split into Reshiram and Zekrom, why would there still be an obtainable Kyurem in the current game? Unless there are many many Kyurem living in the world and one of them underwent binary fission into Reshiram and Zekrom

I don't know if this has been said but what if Kyurem carried evil and good power and it was causing it pain so it shot the power out of it creating the two powers into creatures, i.e. Reshiram and Zekrom and like bulbapedia said, since it doesn't have any power, it's body became barren and it's body froze over to reperesent nothings happening in it's body.

Why do we all think there is somthing special to Kuyrem beyond "just being another legendary"?

All legendary pokemon have a "story" behind them, and Im sure Kuyrem's is just like the rest.

Dont get me wrong, this is one of my favorite new pokemon. Dragon Ice type. Heck yes.

Probably the Giratina syndrome. Giratina had a new form so people think Kyurem will follow suit, complete with backstory behind the hypothetical other form.

Personally I hope it gets a new form too, backstory or not. I don't like the current form's design.

I think a form is possible, though we don't know if any 'rules' are with Cold Flare and Freeze Bolt. Possibly Reshiram or Zekrom have to be in the party to use them?

It's an idea, but I feel would bring about too much of an uproar if otherwise Kyurem could only use three attacks.

I dont mean to get of topic about Kyurem's supposed new forms, which I do think he will get, but I found this theory in one of the Links above, someone said that Kyurem's tail looks like a plug, that you would plug into an outlet, and those things on the tip of its wings- look like glass lightbulbs? You can also see yellow markings on Kyurem's body, does anyone else notice this?

Take notice of Kyurem in this picture, look at his tail and the end of its wings.

Mayb those are event moves and you get them from a special move tutor or something.

i think it is the 3rd mascot because it ends with REM such as RAM and ROM like reshiRAM and zekROM so the next one will be kyuREM the middle letter is switched to another vowel

Kyurem is in such a strange situation as a Pokémon - there are so many routes they could take with it, since at any time they could think up something completely different from anything we've seen and go with it. I think it'll end up going one of three ways.
  • It gains its hidden signature moves, Freeze Bolt and Cold Flare, through an event where a special Kyurem is given away, likely for a film.
    • This may be how they're giving Victini its signature move, V-Generate, so it'll be a proven method in the fifth Generation for Legendary Pokémon to obtain their hidden moves.
  • It gains its hidden signature moves naturally in the third fifth Generation game. In this game, it may gain a new forme(s), like Giratina did in Platinum, which grants it the ability to learn these moves.
    • This is probably the most likely route, given it would give the third games a huge reason for people to buy them (aside from improvements and expansions, of course). In addition, Kyurem having a large role in the third games is implied by the existence of a "God Stone" key item in the Black/White data, which is the gray-colored equivalent of the stones used to summon Reshiram and Zekrom. In addition, its current appearance is oddly asymmetrical and seems "incomplete", though this is up to opinion.
  • Its hidden moves are granted to it by move tutors in the third game, and it doesn't get any new forme(s).
    • This is the one least likely to happen, in my opinion.

@Xous
Ya, Ive seen that God Stone item, you are exactly right Xous, it looks exactly like the Light Sone and Dark Stone used to summon Reshiram and Zekrom! Except its grey colored, just like Kyurem!, this basically proves that Kyurem is a mascot legendary!

Here is a picture of all the stones, Light Stone, Dark Stone, and God Stone

The God Stone is described as a Phantom Stone accroding to serebii, what could this mean? There could be more to it in the third version.
