RE: LOST.
Amazing episode, dare I say that the Jin/Sun moment was the saddest moment throughout all of Lost?
Odd thing is that Smokey anticipated the group would betray him, which begs the question; how was he ever planning on leaving the island when he knew he'd be blowing up the sub? Only the plane remains, but that may be rigged with bombs and Lapidus the pilot is (presumably...) dead. On note of Lapidus, while I'm a bit disappointed he's gone, I also can't really see any other way in which the directors could handle his character, because as the pilot he was instrumental to the whole "getting off the island" plot, but after that serves no purpose. So I guess I can forgive the fact that he was bumped up to main character and then killed off. I guess his death was similar to Ilana's, although not as random lol
Jack said something really interesting in the sub... I guess the group end up killing one another until one person, the candidate, remains. As the episode was entitled "The Candidate" and it was centered around Jack (who also stands out as the only guy who doesn't want to leave), it's not outrageous to assume that Jack will be the last remaining Lostie, however obvious that conclusion may be.
Interesting to note that when Smokey attacked Widmore's camp and set the group free, he didn't go after Widmore himself. I guess that a) Widmore is no longer a threat to Smokey's plans b) Smokey just didn't have the time (I don't believe that though) or c) Widmore needs to be kept alive for some reason...
