Mafia Discussion Thread

Some ideas for the next game..

A role that knows who is in possession of a certain item.

A role that destroys Items.

An Item that lets you win the game.

An item that let's you send an anonymous message to the wolves.

A role that create a duplicate of an item (that doesn't have any powers) and switches it with the real one.

I actually have a lot more Ideas but I'll post them here or PM them to the next game host later.

I'm curious as to how you'd make an insta-win item not broken and an anonymous wolf message item useful. The rest sound fun to implement.

Oh, the threads are still around. Looked extremely boring imho.

Detailed Stuff:
-The wolf(called the murderer) can also choose an accomplice, which doubles the kills for a night.
-The murderer leaves a note for the townies each night.
-The townies elect a dead person to give them a clue about the murder. (called the council of ghosts) It's basically the only hint the townies get.
-There's a stupid poison mechanic.
-No one likes Joeypals
-Guy invented it.
-The murderer rarely wins

And the past two games added items and a map every day to make it more like an RPG and less like a WW clone.

Let's just have a big board game where people play except instead of fighting each other, you vote to see who gets killed. :I

The beginning of your post reminded me of Risk, now that was a fun but tiring game.

Is there any interest in Skype mafia? It would be shorter games and less people, but the open chat would be interesting.

I was so ready to find some sort of breakthrough with that one match. >|

This would be very cool. The problem would be getting enough people.

IRC Wolf was fun, I've been too busy to do it again unless we wanted to have set times on when to have them.

You could ask Mani or DM to set up the Werewolf bot so that it'd always be online even when you're not.
I don't know if they'll say yes, but they're nice guys, so it's worth a try.

What about a role such as this:

You are a Corrupt Official. You will accept a bribe from anyone to do whatever they want.

Role: Accept a Bribe - You may accept a bribe from a certain greedy person, who will PM you and ask you not to kill him

The Item that let's you would only work after certain conditions are met Ex. Be targeted to be killed by the Wolves during Night/Receive 5 Votes/Be the first person to vote to lynch a wolf/Be the first to Vote 4 times in a row something along those lines and/or Have a secret Win Condition(Just so The Item's not broken.) paired with a bad effect or something that makes the townie want to get rid of the item as soon as possible Ex.)As long as you have this item you may not vote/post during the day phase. Or If your a wolf and you receive this item you die. Or All of your abilities are canceled as long as your in possession of the item.(This would even stop the night kill) Something along those lines.

Now onto the Anno-Message It would most likely have to be a bluff from the town to get the Wolves off of someone's tail Or threaten them in someway Ex) I know who you are..And I have an ability that can get rid of two wolves If the town does not lynch a wolf within the next two days..OR to feign an alliance with scum to get rid of a indie/person with good role upon being killed/New player: I know who the seer is...and I need him gone.I'm an indie who has a win condition involving being in the top 10. The seer is *(insert random Indie here).I'm a mysterious person who cannot Vote but know this I know who you are and I can Send more messages to other players....For you're own personal safety I recommend killing who I told you to..Bye ( This message should have unlimited characters as It's hard to be convincing In 20 words or less..)

Also after some thought I think the person who kills you should receive you're item. and since people may be wondering what would happen If you kill multiple people with items..I think you should decide what to do with them Ex) give them to someone you trust or hate.../Destroy them by trashing them OR move them to a secret location that will be revealed upon there death..The items would then go to the town or Specific people designated upon the item's hiding...
In case you're wondering what If that person already has an item? The item would go to the town.

At least That's how I pictured these things working in my head.

Thoughts on a Werewolf were all the roles are revealed at the beginning of the game? Not everyone's role, but the roles themselves.

I think it's become to easy to become a Werewolf host. Pretty much any somewhat well known Pokebeacher is now just put on a waiting list. In the olden days(lol), a host was chosen for doing a great job in a game previously, or presenting a great idea for a game, competing with others for the right(Lenny) I just feel aspiring hosts haven't neccessarily proved themselve[/quote]s enough.

I don't think so. It would be too easy to track everything, it would be a lot of work to keep the OP updated. A really experienced player (ex: DNA) could use roles, and match them up to how a player is acting, and potentially just figure out who everybody is. I don't think we need this, what we're using now works great.

A WW game where the roles are given is a Mafia game, and that's what makes WW special. That's literally the only thing WW has going for it, so just play Mafia if you want to know the roles.
