Matt's Faking Competition - And the winner is...

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

It's understood that if the Pokemon has Resistance, it will be -30. So, I guess that still counts, huh? And, thanks for the tip.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

It's understood, yes, but it's still needed. The most recent cards still state -30 for Resistances, even though it's been that way since Base Set.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

Here is mine:

Kadabra
Psycic type
HP: 70
Stage 1
evolves from abra

PokePower: Psycic Reveal
Once during your turn, you may shuffle two cards from your hand into your deck. If you do, you may reveal one of your prize cards (the prize card remains face up for the rest of the game).

(p) Psycic Blast 20
(p)(p)(p) Super Psy Bolt 50

Weakness: Psycic
Resistence:
Retreat Cost: (c)

Andyman - k

abaxter94
Following Directions: 10/10
HP: 10/10
Type: 10/10
Size: 10/10
Body: 44/50 P-S-Y-C-H-I-C. The power is worded incorrectly. I'm not sure I would use it. Just play Island Hermit. Attacks are boring (and what's with everyone doing 3-for-50 attacks?). Super Psy is underpowered.
Bottom Stats: 10/10
Total Score: 94/100

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

You're gonna have to explain it to me nice and slow, I still don't see it. ^^;

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

The part of the power saying "This power can't be used if Quilava is affected by a Special Condition.". That rule.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

Dragonair 80 Hp (evolves from Dratini) [C]

Poke-Power:Weather Shift
When you play this card from your hand to evolve Dratini Search your deck for Pokemon that has Castform in their name and put them into your bench.Choose one pokemon with Castform in its name.Dragonair is now the same type as Castform.

[G][L] Wind before the Storm 20
Search your deck for 2 Lightning energy and attach them to Dragonair.Search your deck, discard pile and prize cards for Dragonite or Dragonite ex and put it into your hand.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

I'm sorry for not reading all the rules on the first page the last time I entered, but now I did. I hope I did understand everything well (I'm dutch and 14 years old).

Charmeleon 80HP (R)
Stage 1 Pokemon, evolves from Charmander.

Pokepower: Blackburn
If the Defending Pokemon is Burned, each of Charmeleon's attacks do 20 more damage to the Defending Pokemon. This power can't be used if Charmeleon is affected with a Special Condition.

(R)(R)(C) Slow Fire 50
If the Defending Pokemon doesn't retreat during your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokemon is Burned.

Weakness: (W)
Resistance: -
Retreat Cost: (C)(C)

Fire Pokemon are my favourites, you know xD

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

When I said slow, I meant it, like explain in detail, but I get it now. Why restrict it? The placing of a single damage counter is not all that great. Oh well. Didn't take points off for it.

psyblazer_ex
Following Directions: 10/10
HP: 10/10
Type: 10/10
Size: 10/10
Body: 38/50 Weather Shift is kinda silly, but I guess it has its uses. "Wind Before the Storm" won't fit on a card - it's too long a name. It's also broken.
Bottom Stats: 4/10 Five point loss because I don't know if that's Fighting or Fire, and one point because Dragonair has no business resisting Psychic.
Total Score: 84/100

DarkCrow
Following Directions: 10/10
HP: 10/10
Type: 10/10
Size: 10/10
Body: 45/50 Blackburn is a body, not a power - the Special Condition rule isn't needed. Another 3-for-50 attack, with an effect that suits the name well. However, it's worded wrong. I'm fairly sure Blackburn is, too. Still, a decent card.
Bottom Stats: 10/10 It's a strong card - I believe the Retreat Cost is appropriate.
Total Score: 95/100

Ranking is updated with these scores. Three entries left and we can start Round 2!

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

Metang 80{M}
Stage 1
Evolves from Beldum

Poke-Power: Starlight Surge
Once during your turn, (before you attack) you may place Metagross* from your hand on Metang, (this counts as evolving Metang). If you do discard all cards from your hand, Metagross*'s HP is now 110.

(M) Metal Claw 20

(M)(C)(C) Takedown 60
Place 1 damage counter on Metang.

Weakness:R
Resistance:G
Retreat Cost: (C)(C)

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

Master of the six kings
Following Directions: 10/10
HP: 10/10
Type: 10/10
Size: 10/10
Body: 45/50 Lots of grammar errors. A couple wording errors as well; damage counters are always put, not placed. Starlight Surge is an interesting power. I suppose it's like Baby Evolution... for an Evolved Pokémon. I guess it could work.
Bottom Stats: 10/10
Total Score: 95/100

As soon as Cheesepuff1995 and LuCaRiO11 make their entries, Round 2 will begin.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

Combusken does 10 damage to itself.

Weakness:[W]

Cheesepuff1995
Following Directions: 10/10
HP: 10/10
Type: 10/10
Size: 9/10 Little bit of overflow there.
Body: 41/50 Interesting power. The ability to add an energy for free is a little broken on a stage 1. The card is a little too strong. If it didn't evolve further, I'd understand. Grammar and wording errors, like everyone else...
Bottom Stats: 10/10
Total Score: 91/100

I've already sent a PM to LuCaRiO11 about entering. Now we wait. I will be sending PMs up until Wednesday regarding this round.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 1

Round 2 starts now. LuCaRiO11 gets 0 points for the last round for failing to make an entry.

Good luck. The round is over Dec. 14, 2006, or when all submissions are in.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 2

Jumpluff ex - 130HP [G]

Poké-body: Cotton Spore
As long as Jumpluff ex is your Active Pokémon, whenever your opponent announces an attack, you may flip a coin. If heads, move one Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon to one of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. If the Defending Pokémon no longer can pay the attack's cost, that attack does nothing.

[G] Death Seed 30
Before doing damage, remove one damage counter from Jumpluff ex for each of your Pokémon that has any damage counters on it. Flip a coin. If heads, choose 1 Special Condition. The Defending Pokémon is now affected by that Special Condition.

Weakness - [R] Resistance -30 - [W] Retreat Cost - none

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 2

Dunno why, Jumpluffs are usually broken...

Gengar ex-150HP-{P}
Stage 2
Evolves from Haunter

Poke-Power: Ghostly Curse
Once during your turn (before you attack), if Gengar ex is your active Pokemon, you may choose one of your opponents benched Pokemon. Put 2 damage counters on that Pokemon. You can't use more than 1 Ghostly Curse Poke-Power each turn. This power can't be used if Gengar ex is affected by any special conditions.

{P}{C}Haunt 20
Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon can't attack or retreat during your opponents next turn.

{P}{P}{C}{C}Super Shadow Punch 100
Flip a coin. If tails, Gengar ex can't use Super Shadow Punch during your next turn.

Weakness Resistance Retreat Cost
{D}{P} {F}{C} {C}{C}

Whew! Took a long time!
