Matt's Faking Competition - And the winner is...

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 2

Crazy Weavile - Good question. The answer is no. Perhaps another time...

Light Venusaur - For someone who is so adamant about her rules being followed, I find it amusing that you would fail to even bother reading the first post in its entirety.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 2

Cheesepuff1995 has dropped out. Please, people, if you want to quit, let me know so the rest of us can move on without having to wait.

m0nster1nc - What are we talking about now?

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 2

Gardevior. Check all other [P] Pokémon that are normally Psychic. They all have [P] weakness. If you want to add a second weakness, [D] is the way to go.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Round 2

Oh well. Psychic is weak to Dark, and therefore it is fine.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

Round 3 has begun. Check the first post for your assignment.

New rule: Miss posting twice in a row and you're out. I am tired of waiting for no-shows when the people who post in a timely fashion have already done their entries and we have two or three days of dead time only to have them wind up with 0 points. I'm sick of it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

DarkCrow and psyblazer_ex, this means you; you missed Round 2, miss again and you're gone.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - if anyone wants to quit, by all means PLEASE let me know right away.

Also, because of the posting time of this round, I need to cut this round's time by 35 minutes so I can have enough time to edit the first post and declare a new round. Otherwise you'll all be waiting for another six or eight hours for instructions, and no one really wants that. But since we haven't had anyone post in the final couple hours of a round, I don't think that's going to be a problem, but I'm letting you guys know ahead of time so you don't send me messages noting the difference in posting time and round end time.

Round ends next Thursday as usual.

Yay! First entry again!

^^Don't quite understand...

Here's my entry:

Flygon*-90HP-{C}
Basic
You can't have more than 1 Pokemon * in your deck

Poke-Power: Last Chance
Once during your turn, if Flygon* is your active Pokemon, you may use this Power. If your opponent has only 1 prize card left, and you opponent can knock out Flygon* during his/her next turn, flip a coin. If heads, Flygon* is not knocked out. Instead, Flygon*'s remaining HP is 10. You can't use more than 1 Last Chance Poke-Power during your match.

{L}{G}{C}{C}Solo Claw      60
If Flygon* is your only Pokemon, this attack's base damage is 90 instead.

Weakness          Resistance          Retreat Cost
      {C}                 {L}{F}                 {C}{C}

Crazy card actually...

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

Flygon, all I mean is that instead of a full week to make an entry, you have a full week minus 25 minutes. The reason for this is just so I can update in a timely manner rather than making you all wait until I am available further.

And now, without further ado...

Flygon
Following Directions: 10/10
HP: 10/10
Type: 10/10
Size: 10/10
Body: 46/50 Last Chance is worded wrong. It's the same thing as Celebi *'s Time Travel, but with the added restriction of needing the opponent to have only 1 Prize left. I don't see the point of restricting it to once a match... and that part might be worded like... a card I can't think of right now. I think it might be GB only, but if it is, I can't hold that against you. I won't dock you points for this because I'm pretty sure that the card I'm thinking of is in fact only for the GB TCG. Solo Claw isn't bad.
Bottom Stats: 9/10 It is implied, but you need the -30 in Resistance.
Total Score: 75/100 Missed the only restriction; you needed an attack that does 40 damage.

Flygon now holds the lead! Gosh, I guess the rest of you better enter pretty quick then, huh? >:[

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

Opsy.... Didin't read properly... I thought you meant attack that does higher damage than that... :'(
Nevermind, at least I'm in the lead.... But I guess I'll problably get last... :(

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

Salamence* d-Water-80HP-baisic

PokePower- Super Shift
Once during your turn, you may choose one of your opponents pokemon. Salamence* is now the type of pokemon that you choose(choose one type if their are two). That pokemon is now [w]. This affect ends during your opponents next turn. You can't use this power if Salamence* is affected by a specia condition.

[c][c] Type Claw 40+
If Salamence and the defending pokemon are the same type, this attack does 40 damage plus 20 more damage.

WK:c/RS:f/RC:cc

Would this be aceptable?

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

m0nster1nc, I will thank you not to nitpick as you have done with the fakes in this topic. If you continue doing this, I will report your posts as spam.

psyblazer_ex - I removed you from the list. Thanks for competing.

abaxter94
Following Directions: 10/10
HP: 10/10
Type: 5/10 Salamence * is green. Salamence ex d is Water-type, though, so you saved some points there.
Size: 10/10
Body: 44/50 Super Shift is... odd. I guess it helps against decks that run many types... Type Claw is a little strong and too easy to get that extra damage, with no drawback.
Bottom Stats: 10/10
Total Score: 89/100

Flygon has an eleven-point lead, but sadly, it is easily attainable by Crazy Weavile, who only needs 71 points to tie, and Andyman, who needs 72.

Will they not post in a week's time? No one knows... stay tuned. It's still anyone's game.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

Snorlax * - 90HP [C]

Poké-body: Leftovers
As long as you have more Prize cards left than your opponent, at any time between turns, remove 1 damage counter from Snorlax *.

[C][C][C] Ultra Slam 40+
You may flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 40 damage plus 10 more damage for each Prize card your opponent has taken and the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. If tails, this attack does nothing.

Weakness - [F] Resistance - none Retreat Cost - [C][C][C]

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

Heh heh heh...

Tyranitar *
Dark, 90 HP
Basic Pokemon

You can't have more than 1 Pokemon * in your deck.

(D) Natural Claw 20

(D)(W)(R) Demon Screech 70
If you have less Prize cards left than your opponent, then this attack's base damage is 40 instead of 70.

Weakness: (F)
Resistance: (P)
Retreat Cost: (C)(C)(C)

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

ShinyMarshtomp
Congratulations on being the first person to get 100 points. I like everything about this card except the Retreat Cost, but Snorlax is a big blubbery fatty so that's okay! The attack is risky to perform, which is typical for stars. I'd so run one of these in my deck just to be cool.

Crazy Weavile
Following Directions: 10/10
HP: 10/10
Type: 10/10
Size: 10/10
Body: 47/50 Stars with whack Energy costs went out a long time ago. It's a little boring; it reminds me of POP 1 Tyranitar ex (gag). It has survivability and it's Energy Root friendly. The second attack's not too bad... you will pay 3 for 80 when losing and 50 when winning, but for 2 colored and 1 Special required, it seems weak. The word "then" in the second part of the sentence shouldn't be there. Otherwise, looks good.
Bottom Stats: 9/10 Like I told Flygon, you need to put the -30 in Resistance, even though it is implied that it's there.
Total Score: 96/100

ShinyMarshtomp comes in with a perfect score and jumps into the lead, but Crazy Weavile's almost as excellent score puts him into a close second. Flygon has, not surprisingly, fallen into third place, 25 points behind Crazy Weavile. Will she continue to drop in rank? Or will he luck out and find that no one else makes an entry, or they get terrible scores?

Stay tuned...

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

Marowak * - 70 Hp [F]

Poke-body: Vengeance
All of Marowak *'s attack does 10 damage more for each prize your opponent has taken to the defending pokemon.

[F][F][C] Big Bang Bonearang 40
If you have less Prize cards left than your opponent, then this attack does 10 damage to all of your opponent's benched pokemon,If you have more Prize left than your opponent, then this attack does 10 damage to all of your benched pokemon.

Weakness : [G]
Resistance: -
Retreat Cost : [C]

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

PMJ - I'm a "she", not a he... Crazy Weavile dosen't have an attack that does 40 Damage... Oh wait, he does.

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

Flygon - Sorry about the mixup. So rare to see girls here. I've fixed it <3 Also yes, after taking off 20 points, I had to do a double check to make sure that CW and SM had attacks that do 40 damage, and they do.

XKurama93X
Following Directions: 10/10
HP: 8/10 It's low. It's a great late-game card, but with such low HP it won't survive very long. At least 10 more HP wouldn't hurt.
Type: 10/10
Size: 10/10
Body: 47/50 You mixed up the wording in the Vengeance body... you also should have read CW's review. The word "then" is not supposed to be part of the second part of a compound sentence. Otherwise, it would be good. You could add a Weakness/Resistance nullifier sentence at the end, but it is a star, and the attack is the "Big Bang" Bonearang, and to be honest, I'm not entirely sure it would fit. I like it. A great card if you're losing pretty badly.
Bottom Stats: 9/10 I think Marowak * deserves Lightning resist, what with the fragile HP and all. Not to mention that most Ground-type Pokémon with Fighting-type cards don't have Lightning resist anymore...
Total Score: 94/100

With this score, XKurama93X moves into third place, 15 points behind Crazy Weavile. If Andyman gets 100 points, he will be tied with Shiny Marshtomp for the lead; Andyman only needs 83 points to move into third.

Flygon has dropped into fourth place. :( (collective 'awww' from the studio audience). Missing those 20 points was tough. Can she pull it together with a winning fake in round four?

Stay tuned...

RE: Matt's Faking Competition - Time for Round 3! Halfway done...

Gengar * 90HP Psychic
Basic

[P] Shadow Barrage
Choose 4 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 10 damage to each of them. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

[P][P][C][C] Shadow Ball  70
Discard all Energy attached to Gengar *.

Weakness - Darkness
Resistance -30  - [NONE]
Retreat Cost - [C]
