RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Ever since 3rd Rock I haven't been a big fan of Johns. I was probably just too young when I tried to watch it, but I hated that show and have never liked him either ever since.

I am desperately looking forward towards Immortals. It just looks so good. The only thing I'm not looking forward to about the movie is the overall dark-yellowish kind of glow that every fight scene seems to have. I never like that effect in movies.

J Edgar and The Ides of March look great, but I probably won't see either until dvd release, or at least until I get a bit more free time.

I'm looking forward to Harry Potter coming out on Friday. I know my store will be really busy, but I am going to wait to get it until I work on Saturday. It's not worth it for me to drive then have to wait. I was lucky enough to finally evade a major release. ( CoD today was really big.)

So Melancholia is now on iTunes and will be out in theaters tomorrow.

I just want to take this moment to say this is easily, without a question, the best movie I have seen this year. Okay, for one, I do want to praise Kirsten Dunst on her role. Absolutely amazing. She convincingly portrays a depressed, cynical woman who given the current circumstance maintains a calm and cool mentality. I'm not describing it very well because it's difficult to describe. The film is woven in such a way that is beyond comparison. I'm still in shock from seeing it honestly. Normally, I want to go more in-depth about it, but really, this is something you have to see.

This is a film that could make you take a good, hard look at your life if you read between the lines.

I'm not a huge Dreamworks fan (Pixar FTW) but Puss in Boots was REALLY good. It had the same humor as Shrek, but with a really nice plot and adverterous feel. I liked it a whole lot and I recommend it to any animated movie fan, kid or adult.

Yeah, I also liked the film (this is coming from someone who didn't watch Shrek). The animation was amazing as well. I don't watch movies at all and I only do when I'm with friends and they love cute movies so next would probably be Happy Feet 2.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Immortals was very good. Looks very much like 300, but not in a bad way, and the movies are different enough that you don't really care. Some of the special effects were a little...different, almost cheezey at times, but it again was never really a bad thing. Some of the violence was surprising at times, not in an overly grotesque way, but just kind of like a "I didn't think they would show that" kind of thing. The only real flaw I saw in the movie was the fact that you never knew exactly who all the gods were unless you knew your Greek mythology fairly well and could figure it out yourself. Bottom line, there is fun to be had if you are willing to surrender to it.

If you don't go see The Muppets you don't have a heart. It was fantastic.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Most of these movies I have all seen just recently within the last 4 months and I was impressed by most except for one. The only movie I did not like too well was Inception due to the fact that it was part fiction and reality. Also due to the fact that it is a weird movie. Especially when you are having a dream inside a dream. That's a little off the top and was my least favorite of all. I probably would not watch this one again. Guys I warn you. Watch at your own risk XD.:)

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

That movie is one of the best I've ever seen. >_> Learn to love fiction, that's what the majority of movies are. Fiction+real life qualities thrown in.

dmaster out.
