RE: Movie Discussion Thread II
Nothing too awesome coming out today. Sleeping Beauty was pretty good but definitely deserving of its R rating.
Inception is a critically acclaimed movie made by Christopher Nolan, possibly one of the greatest living filmmakers of our time. Inception requires one to pay attention to the details and actually be involved with the movie for the viewer to appreciate it. It's called science fiction for a reason, and by employing a blend of fiction and reality, Nolan was able to weave a more interesting story than if it had just been all reality and nothing else. There are important metaphors and allegories hidden in the movie's dialogue, sequencing, and structure that are necessary to find if you have any hopes of enjoying the movie. Inception is one of the few movies of the last few years that I honestly feel is keeping cinema true to itself, and keeping it an art. I would say Drive, Melancholia, Take Shelter, and The Artist all follow this trend as well.

xxashxx said:Most of these movies I have all seen just recently within the last 4 months and I was impressed by most except for one. The only movie I did not like too well was Inception due to the fact that it was part fiction and reality. Also due to the fact that it is a weird movie. Especially when you are having a dream inside a dream. That's a little off the top and was my least favorite of all. I probably would not watch this one again. Guys I warn you. Watch at your own risk XD.
