NBA Discussion Thread

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Let's take this time to mourn the amnesty of MWP, the first causality of the new CBA. Lakers aren't even the same without him. They aren't even sexy enough for his cat. ;-;

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Knicks sign MWP to a 2-year deal, $1.6 million per year. Probably the only good move they've made this offseason lol.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

The Mavs and Bucks essentially traded two-guards; Mayo went to Milwaukee, while Ellis is a Maverick. Sorry, Dirk, your final years are going to waste with a bad supporting cast.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Mark Cuban has terrible post-championship logic.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Now the Lakers have to settle with injury-prone Chris Kaman with D12's departure. It would have been a good signing for them... five years ago.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Still a better risk than Greg Oden.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

I actually want to see Oden have a productive season while staying relatively healthy. He's gotten a lot of flack for being possibly the biggest bust in NBA history being virtually injured all the time, but at least he's worked hard to try to get himself conditioned and in playing shape to where he could endure an NBA season.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

As much as I hate to say it, the Heat is actually a good place for Oden. It relieves a lot of stress to prevent injuries with their supporting cast, plus it allows the Heat to go big if they need to, something that the Heat really need to make it a 3peat. I personally don't like it because I'm the hugest Heat hater out there. >_<

Playing for the Mavs is a good bet for their organization, but the possibility of a lot of playing time will just lead to further injury.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

At least Greg Oden is better than Chris Bosh lol.

It's not hard to beat 0 points in game 7 of NBA finals.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Really looking forward to Bostrich wearing dat Bobcat orange.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

That awkward moment when you get amnestied instead of Joel Anthony.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

I hate that the Heat won the ESPY award for "Best Team." What a joke. Then again, the ESPYs are a joke in general, and so are the Heat bandwagoners that voted for the Heat.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

> miami heat
> anything related to espn

ye done goofed

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

I hadn't watched any programming on ESPN since the Heat won the NBA Championship, so I decided to give the ESPYs a chance. As you so eloquently put it, yes, "I dun goofed."

I did watch ESPN for the draft since I knew there was no way they could turn that into a Heat circle jerk, but other that, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you haha.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Now that all the major free agent signings are out of the way, early playoff seed predictions GO

Western Conference
1. Clippers
2. Spurs
3. Thunder
4. Rockets
5. Warriors
6. Grizzlies
7. T-Wolves
8. Nuggets

Eastern Conference
1. LeBrons
2. Bulls
3. Pacers
4. Nets
5. Knicks
6. Cavaliers
7. Pistons
8. Bobcats

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

My predictions are the same, although I have Pistons a seed higher. They will probably be a top five defensive team thanks to that stacked frontcourt, but I worry the lack of floor spacing and a good backcourt will greatly hurt the team.

It's sad that East is so bad after the first few seeds that Bobcats are a legit eighth seed. Well, that or the Wizards depending on how well Wall and Beal play next year. I would throw Hawks into the mix since they're still an okay team, but I think they will forever be bad until they get a center and move Horford to PF.

Worst record in league: 76ers. They land Wiggins and become a 5-6 seed playoff team within the next two or three years after rebuilding.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

I considered the Wizards and even Celtics for the eighth seed and found it difficult to leave the Hawks out of the playoffs. While Millsap will probably be a better fit for their system than J-Smoove ever was, they lost a bit of depth, particularly in their backcourt, and now have question marks at SG and SF.

Sixers will be horrible, but the writing was on the wall ever since Bynum began having trouble with his knees after signing with them.
