RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Lakers should've gave a foul, but the scramble for the ball screwed that up. Oh well.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Gasol and Howard ... wow. That's pretty much all that sums up their performance for the win.

That game was a good way to end the Laker's depressing season. Injuries, terrible start, inconsistent play throughout, coaching change, Jerry Buss dying, Kobe's injury. It almost makes it hard to believe they even made it to the seventh seed looking back.

MVP: LeBron James - but maybe the voters will get tired of giving LeBron MVP and give it to someone else (KD) like they did in 2011 with Rose
Defensive POY: Tony Allen - though historically this award goes to a PF/C
6th Man: J.R. Smith
Rookie of the Year: Damian Lillard - absolute no-doubter lol

Not seeing too many upsets this first round this year.

dmaster out.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

I'm in the minority having Mark Jackson being COY. He took a Warriors team that plodded along, and after the Monta Ellis trade, Stephen Curry really picked up his play.

I was stuck between him and Tom Thibodeaux in Chicago. To have the Bulls playing at a high level despite losing Derrick Rose for the entire season was really an amazing job.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

I think both are deserving as well as Karl. However, I don't want to see Spoelstra win it.

I don't hate Spoelstra, I would've loved to see Pat Riley coach the Heat, but as a coach he's okay.

Not deserving of COY, though; you're right.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Spoelstra just manages the minutes of the Heat's talent. I need to see him coach a team without an overload of talent before I can call him a good coach worthy of an award.

Yeah, he's just the product of the system that brought LeBron and Chris Bosh down to South Beach.

Bucks going to the Finals

@TDL, Spo did carry a team with Wade and scrubs to a .500 record before LBJ and Boshtrich going to MIami, he's a good coach at least

2010 lost to Lakers = champions
2011 lost to Mavericks = champions
2012 lost to Heat = champions

Pacers vs Hawks
Nets vs Bulls

Thunder vs Rockets
Spurs vs Lakers
Nuggets vs Warriors
Clippers vs Grizzlies

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Also, Mark Jackson deserves that credit for COY as much as Karl does. The Warriors were pretty much projected to have around 30 wins this season and look what happens lol.

Spoelstra is a good coach, but I don't think COY should go to a coach whose team is the most talented in the league, but a coach who helped his team exceed everyone's expectations.
