Official States Discussion Thread

^^ I am sorry but I laugh at that statment. Rampardos's Pokebody goes right through that, and as I said before, you need Dialga G lv.x out or it fails.

Goldedda, read Rampardos's Poke-Body, it goes through everything except when Dialga G Lv.X arrives to the battle field. That's why I created the list with Dialga G Lv.X for Norman. Then aren't you running Dusknoir with Amphy? Watch out for Rampy.

Fax, do you run Uxie or Claydol for your Rampardos deck?

^unown G for. the. win. dialga G is a force to be reckoned with.
3 T1 deafen
3 T2 deafen
4 T2 second strike (3 times were 70, 1 time was 50+1 crobat)
2 games that i got T2 deafen i also got T2 second strike (both were 70)
T2 70 about 50% of the time are good odds. 33.3% trainer lock T1 are good odds and most all of the time i got T2 deafen was because i went first....

Yes I use a 3-1 line of Uxie. Why?

Personally, I'll be using Amphreeze (I don't like the name Amphy Lock, XD)

Also, I've heard some things about Infernape being run at my states. Can someone fill me in on what's so great about an Infernape deck?

I sort of understand.

I guess I can't see how a deck that relies on coin flips can be good :/

^^ Ya, I agree. You need to have a bit more substance in a deck. But, dosn't Infernape also use Heatran lv.x?

That might make it a tad better. But if you're trying to get T1 donk, that might ruin the purpose, :/

True. Heck, I may just be letting my bias get the best of me, XD (I try to run as few flippy cards as I can, since I lost a battle at prerelease because I flipped tail with Life Herb. I WOULD'VE GONE 5-0! D: )

Any deck can win States.

It's just how you play it. :D

Then why did'nt i win last years? loljk

I played Torterra and Gardy (I had no idea what I was doing last year)

Oh what a load of SOTG mumbo jumbo. Not every deck is created equal. I can make a Speed Bliss deck and I will still get knocked in by a Regigigas. That is a truth of the game. Even if I play the perfect Blissey decklist, I will be outclassed by a number of decks.

I am a supporter of SOTG, but honestly there are some things that people need to understand. Also don't think of this as a rant or anything. I do something similar every time there is a new set.

Came back from States. Full of SPs in the top ranks. I learned a few things on the side.

-Life Herb is the pokemon weed :O
-Cradily haz tentales :O
-and a good way to confuse someone is to shout, "Shut the fffffffront door. It's slightly ajar."

How'd you do, TFO? I need to know, I'm worried about my States. What was the most popular deck?

Just got back from my first states and I have a few little interesting things:
-Only 1 Rampardos and it didn't top cut.
-Toolbox is a beast
-Gengar is the most played deck aside from Toolbox
-Gengar cannot handle Toolbox
-The format definately hasn't solidified yet

Look for a thread called, "Screw you Cradily. Screw You." Yeah, I didn't do too well. Most popular deck? Several variants of Galactic's Toolbox, but I wouldn't know too much about it, since I was in a separate room from the top players cuz I fail so much. >.>

I got 5th place at my States... it was a top cut to 4...

I learned that Dialga G and Palkia G make a kick but deck. It didn't win at our States but it should have. Also I learned to stick in a NM and a Pokemon Rescue into my Rampardos deck, it would have helped me a lot.
