I don't know if this is the right place for this, but I am having an issue with my 3DS. My friend and I were with another person yesterday but the other person was a distance away when we StreetPassed. My friend StreetPassed her but I did not. We were both practically the same distance from her. I didn't get the streetpass until I move significantly closer. I had dropped my 3DS the other day and I'm hoping this didn't damage my wireless... If it matters, I have the red 3DS. I also did a test on campus today in my Poli Sci class. I normally always get at least two passes during this class but today I have received none. Now of course, the other people may have not brought their 3DS today :/ So IDK. Also, I had to get really close to my brother's 3DS to pass him. Am I kinda screwed or is there something that I can do?
Not sure. If it's having problems of those magnitudes, you'll probably need to get it repaired.

What brand of Laptop should I get?
Depends. Out of the major brands off the top of my head, you have five major categories:
Apple - If you're willing to spend more money for hardware that might pack the same punch as less costlier options. One of your only options if you need Mac OS X on a laptop. Has that distinct design aesthetic the fanboys will rave on about for hours.
Alienware - Other stuff can get enough power in good cases, but Alienware laptops are specifically designed for gaming with "pretty" graphics.
Acer and Samsung specific Chromebooks - Not extremely powerful, but enough. Cost can seem marginally high, but not by much. Works well with the web. No Java support in Chrome OS currently. Cellular data support, which comes in handy.
Dell, HP, Acer, Vaio, etc. - A good general category for everybody. If all branding was stripped away, it'd be hard to tell them apart. I personally have an HP, but it happened to be on sale at the time.
System76 and others - Someone a bit smaller. Fairly good laptops with Ubuntu pre-installed. Guaranteed to have 100% compatibility with the hardware.
