RE: Pokémon Max's Story: The PMC VS. The LPC Seventeen! CHAPTER 19 POSTED!!!!! Chapter 20 underway!!!!!!!
Chapter 20: Breaking the Time-Space Continuum!
“You, are, CRAZY!” yelled James to Abad.
“We have to and you know it!” Abad yelled back.
“Look, man,” said Max, “We’ve dealt with Pokémon of the elements, we’ve even handled the ones who made and shaped the earth, but NEVER to ones who hold reality in place!”
“What about Celebi?”
“A cute, nature loving Pokémon who just happens to time-travel, not a huge giant Dragon-Type behemoth!”
“Look, we’re not totally defenseless. We both brought our Mews, Rekkuza is nearby, and Mewtwo is on call along with the birds and other flyers.
“Mew and Mewtwo are great, but against the guys who made their existence?” asked James.
“I never said this was an easy job, why else would I pick us three?”
“He’s got a point,” said Max, “We’ve gotten outta some crazy situations before…what makes this different?”
“I’ll tell you what!” yelled Ricky as he barged into Abad’s office, “Two giant, crazy Pokémon who’ve been asleep for who knows how long! Dialga is a Dragon-Steel type, giving him almost NO weak points, and Palkia is Dragon-Water, and has the same issues. A few years ago, the leader of Team Galactic, Cyrus, awoke these guys, and was almost KILLED, along with Rowan and a few of his pupils.”
“Look,” said Abad, “With all respect towards the professor, he is a researcher, we are trainers with over a decade of experience each! For instance, they said it was impossible to catch the legendaries, and look at me, two of them! And Max’s dad caught a Mew as well. And on top of that, Max has control over most legendaries, though we’re still figuring out why.”
“Look, I’ve taken everything you’ve said into consideration, and even at that, you’re chances of success are slim-to-none, and your chances of living are even worse.”
“You know Abad,” said Max with doubt in his voice. Ricky smiled as one of his leaders saw some logic for once.
Max continued, “None of us have ever faced those odds….LET’S DO THIS!”
With a very angry Ricky (and Lindsey wasn’t too thrilled either), the leaders set off toward a town to the north called Celestic Town, where it is said there is a shine to the Pokémon of time and space.
Their first order of business was with the elder of the town.
“Ah,” she said, “You’ve come looking for the ancient deities.”
“You see Dialga and Palkia as some kind of gods?” asked James.
“In a way, they are…you see, it is said that back before time and space there was nothing, only emptiness. From the emptiness was born Dialga and Palkia, time and space. The key to awakening them is…”
“What?” asked Abad, anxiously.
“Can’t tell you!”
“What?” asked Max.
“Look, the last time someone awoke the deities almost caused a rift in the time-space continuum; since then, all books on their awakening have be burned…even I don’t know…in fact, the only person who researched it enough to know was…Cyrus.”
The gang headed towards Veilstone, disappointed.
“So,” said Max, “All we gotta do is find a man whose been missing for half-a-decade and convince him to put the world into peril again…shouldn’t be too hard, huh?”
“And where do you suggest we start?” asked James, “After five years, he could be anywhere in the world!”
Abad flipped open his phone and called the headquarters. Dialing an extension, the voice on the other end said, “PMC lab department; this is Ricky speaking, how can I help you?”
“Ricky?” replied Abad, “It’s me. Run a background check on Cyrus, former leader of Team Galactic. I want to know everything from the time of his birth to his disappearance by the time we get back, understood?”
“You got it boss!”
They hung up.
Back at the base, the leaders walked in the front door and Ricky met them, with a stack of papers.
“Give me a summary,” said Abad.
“Well, Cyrus was born in Sunyshore, where he learned to love Pokémon, and, well, long story short, went crazy and wanted to awaken Dialga and Palkia to create his own perfect little world. Need I say more?”
“No, actually, you could’ve stop after his birth town,” said Max.
“Why?” asked James.
“When you screw up really bad, nowhere in the world feels safer than home.”
“Well let’s go!” said Abad.
“Let me handle this part solo,” said Max, “I know what he’s been through.”
Max walked out of the building, hopped onto his Charizard, and flew off.
Max landed in Sunyshore, and after talking to a few people around the town, he found where Cyrus was.
He approached the door with caution, and knocked.
A blond haired man opened the door, and said, “Do I know you?”
“No,” replied Max, “But I’ve heard of you, Cyrus.”
“What do you want? I just want to be left alone.”
“Can I talk to you? I’m Max Shade, you know, founder of the great Pokémon NPZ wars, which I started.”
“You’ve got five minutes.”
Max entered and Cyrus directed him to the couch as he sat in a chair across form Max.
“Look, I know what it’s like to screw up. I’ve done it a lot of times, but, every time I got up and did something to fix it.”
“How do I undo what I did? I can’t.”
“Nothing happened. And if you still feel bad, there is one last shot you have to make it up.”
“How so?”
“How do I awaken Dialga and Palkia?”
“You are as crazy as I was if you think I’m telling anyone that.”
“Look, I’m with the PMC. We have to get to the legendary Pokémon before the LPC, who wants to take over the world with the legendaries’ powers. And if they get to Dialga and Palkia first, we’re all doomed.”
Cyrus hesitated, and went into a closet. He got a box down off the top shelf, and brought it to Max.
As he opened it, he said, “This is the Red Chain. Using a machine I invented, I forced Uxie, Mespirit, and Azelf to re-create it. Take it to the alter on the top of Mount Coronet…there, you will encounter the beings of time and space…but I warn you, they are NOT the run-of-the-mill legends…for your own safety and the world’s, decide carefully if you truly want to do this.”
Max, with the Red Chain secured around his neck, he left for the base.
“Man’s depressed,” said Max, “But he gave me the key.”
“Alright!” said Abad, “Let’s go!”
Riding on Max’s Aerodactyl, they began a quick assent of Mount Coronet. But, as the altitude rose, the temperature dropped, forcing Aerodactyl to land.
“Return!” said Max, “We’ll have to continue on foot.”
After hours of wandering around in a blizzard, they finally approached a stairwell, and began to climb it. As they climbed, the blizzard halted, and the cold disappeared.
“This is it,” said Max.
“Where do we put the Red Chain?” asked Abad.
“Look!” said James.
They approached a stand in the middle of the large temple, and found on it two orbs.
“Ricky told me about these,” he continued, “The Adamant and Lustrous Orbs. The Adamant raised the power of Dialga, and the Lustrous for Palkia. He said if they get a hold of these items, there is no stopping them!”
“Well,” said Abad, “I’ll take the Lustrous, James, take the Adamant. We’ll keep them from them at all costs.”
“Got it!”
“Max, do the honors.”
Max approached the alter, and unhooked the Red Chain from his neck.
“Let’s rock,” said Max under his breath as he placed the mythical item onto the alter.
The chain began to glow, and rifts in the time-space continuum began to form, and the two monstrosities emerged from the rifts!
James’ throat went dry. Max gulped. Abad began to shake. They were huge, and they were staring at each other.
“Maybe they aren’t as hostile anymore?” asked Max.
Then, they attacked each other!
“Or maybe not!” yelled Abad, “Run!!!!”
“Lizardon!” Max called out as he and he comrades jumped off the mountain.
The black dragon caught Max and Abad on his back and James in his claws.
“Okay,” said Max, “We’re going to have to stop them and fast!”
“How?” asked Abad.
“Brute force looks like child’s play here!” said James.
Suddenly, two blasts, one from each Pokémon, shot at the gang! Lizardon quickly maneuvered around them, but, the blasts left behind time rifts and space rifts.
“I didn’t think it was true,” said Abad.
“What?” asked Max.
“Roar of Time and Spacial Rand… the moves were thought to be folk tales.”
“So,” said James, “These guys will either send us to another time or even worse, another dimension?”
“Possibly…”
“You kids are hopeless!” yelled a man who came out of the rift on a Ho-oh.
“Dad?!?” asked Max.
“Use Sacred Fire, Mew!” yelled Grant.
The fire encircled each Pokémon and prevented their movement.
“And you thought Sacred Fire was just another Fire move?” he said.
They landed, and Dialga and Palkia were still trapped.
“What’s going on?” asked Max.
“Well,” replied his father, “I saw some time rifts and I thought, ‘he’s at it again’.”
“Thanks for thinking so highly of me.”
“Anytime son; now, let’s see if we can knock some sense into these two, eh, Lizardon?”
“CHARRRRR-RRRRR-OOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAA-RRRRRR!!!”
“That’s what I like to hear! Blazing Kamikaze!”
Lizardon rose to the heavens, and then came hurdling town in a blaze of glory, decimating the two legendaries.
“Now,” said Grant as he walked up to them, “Are you two coming quietly, or am I going to have to make another demonstration?”
The two legends looked at each other, got up, and started walking.
“Dad,” said Max, “You’ve got some serious explaining to do.”
“In time,” said Grant, “You’ll find out for yourself.”
Grant hopped into the time rift he came from and then all the rifts closed up.
Then, Spike, Whiro, and Aqua came up the mountain, and were about to attack, when Abad said, “Dragonite, use Dragon Rush!”
He knocked the trio down the mountain, tumbling.
“They are losing their edge,” said James.
“Guess so,” said Max, concerned about what his father was still keeping from him.
With Dialga and Palkia following them, they descended the mountain to Celestic Town, where the locals stared at them, amazed that Dialga and Palkia were being controlled like that.
They arrived at the base, and took them to the new vault they had build, which contained the pixie trio. The three of them looked at Dialga and Palkia, shaking their heads.
“Behave,” said Abad as he left them.
In the lounge room…
“In recent news,” said a reporter on T.V., “Stark Mountain, a volcano that has been inactive for years now, has begun to leak a small flow of lava. While it is unclear, locals believe it to be the work of an ancient magma Pokémon, who is said to sleep deep within the mountain, but, that is simply speculation…”
“Great,” said Max, “Sinnoh is more work than ever.”
“Yeah,” said Abad, “You wanna take this one?”
“Do I get a choice?”
“Nope.”
