Pokemon Pokemon Plotholes Discussion Thread

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

They didnt want a starter to be a dragon.

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

Oh, well that explains it. Thank you for actually answering my question, valk. ^_^

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

Your welcome. also, Im not sure if anyone already said this, but the day care people must own a lot of pokeballs, for you get one every time you breed.

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

Wow, good catch! You should be able to choose the kind of ball you want your pokemon to be in when you get it from the daycare center in 5th gen. pokemon games. Of course you'd have to pay more for a "higher" value-ball, but meh. I would like my slugmas handed to me in great balls please.

I'm not sure if this is a plothole, but in Destiny Deoxys, we witnessed a tie to pokeballs and some kind of thing enabling pokeballs to keep pokemon in them. Whenever the thing that enabled pokeballs to work ran out of power or something, the pokemon couldn't be returned to their pokeballs. Does this mean that pokeballs function like cellphones, requiring the service of a tower like thingy like the one in Destiny Deoxys? You do remember, don't you?

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

Along with the floating thing... Beedrill, Venomoth and Dustox obviously fly but there is no reference to the flight capabilities in their competitive stats.

Hold up. I didn't get that far into the magna. Did that really happen?

No, it didn't happen, just me playing out a scenario in my head. xD; I suggest you read the Manga further up to Lavender Town though, it is one of my favourite chapters in the Manga.

I do remember the tower in Destiny Deoxys but in my personal opinion I think that it was just something made up for the movie. I don't believe Pokeballs need towers to be of use. If that was the case, then you wouldn't be able to catch or release Pokemon into battle if you're in an area with no signal.

I don't see how y'all got the whole floating issue out of my question which was already resolved and had nothing to do with this. Anyway, I don't like it that fish are able to float on PBR; I know there's no other way for them to be there, but still, could be a little more realistic. (Magikarp, yay)

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

And another thing about pokeballs and eggs, when you trade a egg, it turns into a pokeball in the rolling thing :p

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

@Lietenant Houndoom
Beedrill is a flying type.

In D/P how can you just dive through the ground when you need to go to the underground to mine.

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

^ It's just a gameplay element. I wouldn't be a very nice feature you had to dig a hole everytime you wanted to go underground.

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

In R/B/Y, why do all of the monsters lil' creature things all the same? When they're different?

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

Another plothole in D/P I noticed is that is that when you use Surf outside of battle, the sprite you are sitting on while you surf looks absolutely nothing like the Pokemon in your party unless you have a Wailmer or Wailord. I think this plothole was through the entire Pokemon series. :)

Beedrill's Poison/Bug. Go check it.

Hariyama's dex says it's layers are not fat, but muscle; it's ability is Thick Fat.

True to that, but do you really think that they would've tooken the time to add in one more ability just for Hariyama; Thick Muscle? It just doesn't sound that catchy to me, but I get what you're saying.

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

Here's one I just thought of. When you go into caves, how come there's a little bubble of light around you, but you still need Flash?

RE: Pokemon Plotholes!

@ PPM - Nice one! I guess the character is so amazingly awesome that his/her aura gives off a little light; I wish the aura was red, though. :p
