RE: Pokemon: The Savior of the Destroyed Galaxy! Part Two: The Dimensional Door is up!
Chapter Five: The man from the Past
Adron and company advanced towards the other side of the volcano with great speed. The usual plants of Aveel started to decrease as they headed towards the volcano. Closer and closer they approached to the mighty volcano; The great magma trapped in the depths of the volcano could be heard rumbling! And finally, they reached the volcano. It was huge! The only way to get to the other side of the volcano was to climb the volcano itself. The sides of the volcano were covered by many cliffs, which were impossible to climb. So, Team Heart hiked their way across the volcano. However, something dreadful happened: The great volcano started to seep molten lava upon Team Heart. They had to be careful, and they dodged some of the lava by going over to the sides of the volcano. When not even that was enough to evade the magma, Adron and company made their way onto one of the cliffs connected to the volcano. At this point, the climb down was quite reasonable. No more challenges met Team Heart there. But what they saw shocked them to a certain extent: There were no plants, Pokemon, or anything here. It was just a barren expanse of rock. Or was it? Out in the distance, plainly visible to the eyes of even the most blind man, was a great temple. It was made of rock, and it had a primal feel to it. It was not the tallest tower, but it was tall enough to be considered one. Its walls gave off a feeling that dark and powerful evil may be contained within it's walls. The tracker led to this exact location.
"Umm... Are we sure they are in there?", asked Ash, apparently frightened by the great temple.
"According to the tracker, they are,", answered Adron. Team silently trode towards the tower, their very spirits droopy from the colossal tower. To enter the tower, they somehow had to open a sturdy door. They tried and tried, but it appeared to be locked. As they tried this, Adron noted a small sign that had been attached to the very side of the huge tower. It read, in ancient and faded handwriting:
"Thou shallst not enter the tower of ... lest a great and indestructible ... be freed to ... the dimensions once more." Not all of it was legible. But the message left behind seemed to do its job. Adron called to Team Heart,
"Everyone! Come look at this!". They stopped trying to enter the great tower, and came over to the small sign. Now, they all wondered if they should enter the tower. This warning had obviously been made in the ancient times. To meddle with things they might not even be able to comprehend was a hard decision. But, Adron spoke up,
"Team Heart! We've come this far! We cannot turn back! Whatever this sign warns of, it will have to come to pass! We must have our galaxy restored! We have no choice of this! Staying in the G Galaxy, in my opinion, is already a fate worse than death!". Some disagreed with Adron. But the majority of Team Heart decided that it must be done. They summoned their Fire type Pokemon, and with one great combined attack, the door of the tower imploded. Before Team Heart was a great shroud of darkness.
"Go! Mew!", Adron commanded. Mew came from it's Poke Ball, and made a small noise of joy, apparently relieved of being freed from it's Poke Ball.
"Use Flash!", Adron shouted. A great beam of light shone from Mew's fingertips, and the entire castle was visible before them. They entered the tower; Many great treasures were scattered everywhere. No one touched anything, though. The entire tower had a feeling of darkness. Apparently, inside the tower was a the contents of a mansion. A great double staircase was before them, with passages at the top and bottom.
"We'll have to split up," Adron told Team Heart.
"I'll take the passage down here. Half of you can come with me, and the other half takes the above passage. Ash, you lead the other half of Team Heart."
"Will do!", exclaimed Ash. And with that, both of the parties split up. Adron took his half of the team in the bottom passage, while Ash led his team up the double staircase. Ash was walking on the left staircase, when all of a sudden, when he was about to step on the 13th step, the entire staircase crumbled away. He fell down with a scream. He was caught by Team Heart, though, and he remained unharmed. A note floated eerily from the top of the right staircase. It read:
"Thou must never take the wrong pass. Hence, thou shallst take the right path."
"I guess it means we should go on the right staircase,", Ash mused. This time, he was more successful than on the left staircase. He called to Team Heart to follow him. They walked up the staircase, following Ash into the upper passage.
Adron and his team were in some kind of basement. Around them were many bottles of ancient wine. It was very dark and dank here, even Mew had trouble lighting up the place. Eventually (given that the walk seemed very long for these adventurers, which indeed it was), they came upon two paths. One to the left, and one to the right. Before they could choose which path to take, however, a man appeared right in front of Adron. Adron gasped, and he fell backward, colliding with Cyrun, who collided with many others. Team Heart had fallen, so to speak. They got up, and viewed the man standing before them. His appearance was ghastly to behold. He had lost his right eye, and didn't bother covering up the sight of gore with an eye patch. His hair was pure white, and he looked even older than any old man ever seen. His face was as wrinkled as a prune. Even his skin tone was that of a pure white. He wore a long robe, which even this added on to his ghostly complexion. He spoke, but with an ancient and battered voice,
"Welcome, travelers! How cometh you to the tower of Krystath?". Even the very words he spoke were ancient!
"We are here to track the legendary Pokemon, Dialga and Palkia.", Adron spoke to to the ghost of a man.
"Well,", the man stated,
"You doth be very wise if you have the sense to fly whilst you still can!".
"Why should we leave?", Adron asked,
"Why are you so intent on being rid of us?". The man's facial expression never changed, so it was impossible to even take a minor glimpse as to what he was thinking. It was, after all, quite a grim gaze he cast upon these adventurers. After a slight pause (this seemed customary for him to do so), he spoke to Adron,
"It dost not be
my intention to have you leave. I can tell by your very sight that you are a noble young man. However, I must have you removed from the palace of Krystath, lest you awaken the very evil that roams the chambers of this place.". Adron started to wonder about what this man was saying to him. He seemed quite honest, and intent on not letting them pass yet.
"Tell me about this evil!", Adron commanded to the man. The man gave his customary pause, and then, he began to tell them his tale.
Ash and company crept their way through the hallway that stood before them. The hallway didn't seem to end for a long time. There were many doors on either side of the chamber, and they split up to investigate each and every room for any sign of the legendary Pokemon. Ash went into the door nearest to his right. He opened the cryptic door, and saw lying before him a dead man, apparently long dead. Strangely enough, he was well preserved, as if he had just died the previous day. He only had a single eye, and his right eye was nowhere to be found. The type of close he wore seemed to indicate that they were from Elizabethan era of time. A note was crumpled in the man's hand. Ash pried it from the dead man's fingers. (Quite literally, actually, for his grip was that of iron). The note read:
"Here lies Harris, the noble, 1566-1586. It is strongly advised that you leave now, or henceforth his killer shall rise!". What they couldn't have possibly known, was that the man Ash had now found was the same man talking to Adron and his company. Ash took the note, in case it might come of any use to Team Heart, and he rushed out of the room to see if the others had had any luck.
"It was very long ago that I lived on this Earth," the man explained,
"It was in fact in the year 1566 that I was born. Although my name was Harrison, people called my Harris, for my fathers name was Harrison as well. I was a young lad, and one day, I ventured out into a forest, pretending I was on a hunt. I had many Poke Balls among me, unknown to my father, who made them for a living."
"Well, in time, I met the Pokemon that is now locked away safely in these halls. It was a shadow Pokemon, and it challenged me to capture it. Dost impressed by the appearance of the Pokemon, I accepted it's challenge. I caught it rather easily, and not able to believe my luck, I pinched myself as if I might awake from it. But, unfortunately, this was no dream. I kept the Poke Ball that the beast was in quite secret, but I had it in my pocket."
"The Pokemon exuded such power, that it made me stronger, in fact, somewhat inhuman. Alas, though. Shame I was not wiser at the time of this. I used that power for bad will sometimes. Some of the things I did I have made myself forget, lest I weep for the whole of eternity. And of course, I came to mature. But, there came a day when my town was attacked by an evil organization. They called themselves,
Team Rocket. What that word would mean, I can scarcely imagine. However, I used my power to defeat them, and I ran them out of town. This gave cause for my nickname; Harris the noble."
"And it was henceforward used often. One day, the Pokemon (I do not state it's name, lest it be released by the mention of itself) asked me to release it. My thoughts, pulsing with the self-expansion of my ego, controlled my actions. I refused the Pokemon's proposal. This enraged the Pokemon, and it broke free from the Poke Ball itself. It did something forbidden; It killed a human. It took my life, and at the same time, it took my eye. Doing so, it was cursed to be bound to it's victim. And so, I am a part of that Pokemon, and that Pokemon is now a part of me. It intends revenge on the entirety of the human race. The Pokemon's thoughts are corrupted by it's own madness! It would surely devour us all if it was released!", Harris stopped hear, and he began to weep.
"It is all the fault of myself!", he cried out.
"I have corrupted the noble Pokemon!". Team Heart began to take pity on the wretched man, as he wept most emotionally. Adron asked the man,
"I see your point. However, we have to find the two legendary Pokemon, Dialga and Palkia. We have reason to believe they are here.". Harris stopped his incessant weeping.
"They are not here, they disappeared through the portal out back!". Adron thanked the man,
"Thank you for your time in telling me your story, and warning me of awakening that horror. I must leave now. We have to find those Pokemon." And with that, Team Heart headed back down the chamber. Harris called after them,
"I wisheth you much luck on your noble quest!".
Ash and his team had searched the entirety of the upstairs room. Nothing was to be found there, except a few relics of the past. He left the note with the dead man. He walked down the stairs, and noted Adron and his half of Team Heart heading towards him. Adron hurriedly told Ash and his team about everything that he had learned. They rushed outside, and went around the great tower. Harris was quite correct; There was a portal right in the backyard of the tower. Without even thinking about it, Adron and his friends plunged through the portal, in pursuit of the masters of Time and Space.
