Well, I have to agree with Serjent. All of the challanges were decent since they were all pokemon related and each had their own twist and/or style. This challange made the contest seem like it wasn't even intended for Pokemon artists. It had the challanging aspect down. It's quite hard to be origional with a spy-theme avatar, which was a good thing, but the absense of the Poke-requirement made it look completely random and out of place. I personally think that most viewers of this thread want to see Pokemon-related art mixed with different themes with different twists rather than James Bond, Luke Skywalker, etc... I'm not saying that this was a terrible challange. I actually like the idea. It just would've been much better and would've seemed more in-place in terms of a PokeBeach artist contest if you kept the Poke-requirement rather than excluding it. Those are my two cents.

Well Challenge #5 is over.....since we got the 10,000 highly saught after views, noone will be out. I wasnt entirely pleased with the challenges results, but since its pretty much a freebie well just move on and do it.

Ok so I dont want to spend to much time on it, and I know im like 2o mins late but and im sorry, just got home from a doc appointment.
Anyway I dont want to spend to much time but I will do a little explaining
First it took me...oh 4 and a half hours to get it right.
Ok in case you havent seen 007 Die another day, in the beggining there are these little people made of fire and ice, well this is a play off that. They show that cause 007 is being torchered in korea. So they use the two extremes, so I took too 007s and made them fire, and ice. I didnt completely make the big one, but I edited it a tad. I dont have the site though, sorry
Anyway that is pretty much it, I am actually pretty pleased with this one. The text is so so, I just realized how the background blended in and I tried to fix that but couldnt do it in time. Hope you like it! Sorry for the tardyness!

Well thank you, the text completely fails, I realize that. I am having an off and on thing, its wierd because I'm usually really consistent.
Alright I don't want to start a flame war or anything but there are a few things about that rating I would like to say, not about the rating itself, Im fine with the score just a few things you said.
I don't see how I stole your idea at all, if you think that I used the same pic as you, i didn't I checked the website really quick and found the url. Its a big picture so heres the link http://www.lifesize-cutouts.co.uk/images/bondslarge.jpg Those types of pics are pretty popular in case you haven't noticed.
Also, I don't see how I stole a person. 007 is one of the most famouse spies in the world (yes I realize he's not real) but there have been countless movies about him played by various actors. I planned on doing Die another day from the start, one of my favorite movies of all time, and my favorite 007 movie for sure. Just because you finished first doesn't make it yours. Just how I feel about that, no flame war, no hard feelings, no nothing, just my opinions. Thanks for the quick scores though.

I've been waiting for a challenge that I could use spriting. Spriting is probally my strongest point in art, that's why I did so much better in this challenge.
I still need to make better banners if I want to make it further in this competition.

Effect: 6/10 It reminds me of a lolcat picture, except it's not lol. I didn't really like it. Also it's way too tiny.

I can tell just by seeing the image who they are now. That's a big plus. I love the fade effect, and the crosshairs thing, it's all around good stuff.
Color Usage: 8/10 The blue up at the corner gives it some color, and green is cool too. Aside from the girls, there ain't really a lot of color, but I suppose since it's a spy theme and spies ain't dressed in rainbows it's excusable.

Effect: 7/10 There's some nice trans effects, but other than that no much.
Color Usage: 6/10 There's not really much to say...
Originality: 9/10 Well, nobody though to use cats...
Effort: 7/10 Cutout would've taken some time, but other than that it doesn't look like it took much.
Relation to the Challenge: 6/10 Don't 100% get how a cat is related to spying.
Overall: 7/10 Pretty average, but I know you're capable of more.

It really is too bad Wes dropped out, I think he would've pwned all of you in this challenge, with possibly the exeption of bellomence. He had a more than decent chance at first in the whole contest too. I was expecting better, but maybe the lack of pokemon in the theme threw people off. Show me better next week.

Effect: 7/10 There's some nice trans effects, but other than that no much.
Color Usage: 6/10 There's not really much to say...
Originality: 9/10 Well, nobody though to use cats...
Effort: 7/10 Cutout would've taken some time, but other than that it doesn't look like it took much.
Relation to the Challenge: 6/10 Don't 100% get how a cat is related to spying.
Overall: 7/10 Pretty average, but I know you're capable of more.
Total: 42/60
Bellomence:
Effect: 10/10 Awesome animation.
Color Usage: 9/10 Works well with the spy theme.
Originality: 9/10 Seems original enough to me.
Effort: 10/10 Looks like you put tons of time into this.
Relation to the Challenge: 10/10 They're spies. Seems like people pretty much get all or nothing for this category.
Overall: 9/10 Seems like a very well made animation.
Total: 57/60
INFERNAPE:
Effect: 4/10 There really isn't any. The sprites aren't even 3d.
Color Usage: 5/10 Really don't like the purple, the rest is just meh.
Originality: 7/10 Making a pokemon spy just doesn't seem too original to me for this challenge.
Effort: 6/10 You could've put a lot more into the scratches.
Relation to the Challenge: 10/10 Once again, spy=10.
Overall: 6/10 It just looks too plain.

MUCKSTER:
Effect: 8/10 Fade is nice, text is kinda hard to read.
Color Usage: 9/10 I'm just glad you didn't put fire pokemon in there
.Originality: 10/10 You somehow made just sprites work here. And not just the tradition spy theme either.
Effort: 7/10 Not much above-average effort here.
Relation to the Challenge: 6/10 I can kinda see a relation, but "spy" isn't the first thing I think when I see this.
Overall: 9/10 Could be a bit more complex, but you pulled off an original idea very nicely.

And about the thing with Wes and the contest:
I totaly agree with Wes on his dropping out, ye, I'd like it if he were in, but I have the same philosophy he does. I do things 100% or not at all (unless it's something I'd forced to do). It's not a bad thing to live by really, because more times than not, you're doing things 100%.
I agree that this theme was random, and certianly din't seems to bring out the best in people, but most have actually brough out some awesome work. The group one, while sounding good on paper, just didn't work out in the real world. That's the way things go sometimes. I hate to say it, but with my previous experience I did kinda predict it.
