I was thinking that mayby the winner or someone in the top 3 that wanted to do it would make a banner for a big contest that Im going to start and Im not telling what its about for now.

Here it is! I scratched the background and the corphish! I got the wingull from pokesho and the overwold sprites from spriters resource, no credit neccacary!

I personally am really dissapointed in you, MK63. I would have thought you would spend effort and time on this. It looks like a last second five-minute slap together.

WHA??? I did spend time on this, I have been working on it for a while, Ya I previosly made the Coprhish but I thought I put everything else together well, I spent around an hour just trying to get the wave crashing look how it looks now, I certainly didn't through this together in 5 minutes, no I didn't use just the spraypaint tool, If you look closely its shaded! Well that is you're opinion and you are certainly entitled to it, well maybe this will be my last challenge. I don't want to get eliminated but knowing you, you're opinion is going to be what most of the judges think to! Sorry I dissapointed you, and sure its a little basic but simplicity is a good thing, I didn't want to overcrowd the scene, and I couldn't make a banner. Well thank you for you're opinion Achmetha and I respect it, I am now just a little scared for my future!

People need to read my posts more carefully.....there is 1 person getting eliminated this challenge. However, next challenge noone will be out. It will just be gearing up for the Finals.

Achmetha-You are not a judge or competitior in Project Custom so please keep all of your negative comments to yourself or discuss that over PM. I just think thats rude.

Well I mine as well get these scores up. This challenge was one of the hardest Project Custom has seen to date, and It went pretty well. If we go back to the post we see that these were the qualifications for this challenge:

Monkeyking63-Cant be a banner. Cant use Arkais/Sugimori Images.
MUCKSTER-Cant be animated. No spriting allowed for you at all. Cannot use Muk.
INFERNAPE-Cannot use any forms of spriting. Cannot use any fire type pokemon.
Bellomence-Cannot be animated. Cannot use Flowers, leaves, and any form of green in your piece. Inculding pokemon.

So without further ado, the scoring!

Effect:7/10 I didnt like the text....looks like the wrong choice....and a little Word-Arty
Color Usage:7/10 I saw some different colors
Effort:7/10 I coulda done this quickly....not really a hard piece.
Originality:8/10 Its original.
Relation to the Challenge:10/10 Met the qualifications.
Overall: 7/10
Total:46/60 Im not impressed.....The opacity on Misty was wrong, and I just didnt really "like" it.

Effect:8.5/10 I like it....although the lines kinda ruined it for me. I would have liked a cleaner look here.
Color Usage:9/10 Great "ghostly" colors.
Effort:9/10 I see effort from you all the time....good stuff
Originality:8/10 It was just a normal banner....but it wasnt a bad one xD

Effort:8/10 I applaud your efforts....scratching takes time....even if it isnt GREAT spriting.
Originality:7.5/10 The whole beach thing and use of other sprites that were already done befores kinda eh....but its kinda original.
Relation to the Challenge:10/10 Met requirements.
Overall: 7.5/10 It wasnt a bad avvy.....but there was some flaws in the scratching and there wasnt a ton of effort.

BR: I just wanted you to know, that I completly redid the banner. I know It looks alot like one I already made. I would never use an old piece of art for this challenge. Just letting you know, you so don't think I was being lazy, or used the easy way out. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just letting you know=]

Well thank you B-ray! For the quick scores and for my scores! I know using things previosly in this contest is...err...not a smart choice. And I knew that going into it, but I first came up with a beach avy, then I realized it would be could if I did a scratch job, then I found that corphish scratch while looking through my folder for color pallets! So maybe I need to get alot bettter at spriting, certainly my scratching! Thanks for the comments! Oh and I was overall glad that Acmetha posted, It's letting me see different sides of opinions. Yes it did throw me for a loop but this whole contest is a learning expierence!

Can't wait for more scores!!

Here's my judgings:

MUCKSTER
Effect: 6/10 Nothing really stands out, and the use of trasnparency is not that great.
Color Usage: 6/10 Black and white just doesn't fit with the brightly colored pokemon.
Effort: 5/10 Honeslty doesn't look like much, it would take me about 10 mins to duplicate.
Originality: 7/10 Hard to say...
Relation to the Challenge: 10/10 Met requirments.
Overall: 6/10 Just a below average banner, sorry.
Total: 40/60

Bellomence
Effect: 10/10 Like all the effects, and excellent cutout.
Color Usage: 10/10 Perfect ghost color scheme. I wouldn't have done anything different myself.
Effort: 9/10 Looks like it took quite a bit, especialy cutouts.
Originality: 8/10 Some elements are original, others not as much.
Relation to the Challenge:10/10 Met requirments.
Overall: 9/10 That one weird sparkle under bannette bugs me. Other than that amazing banner.

INFERNAPE
Effect: 10/10 Very unique, love it.
Color Usage: 9/10 Just a bit too light for me.
Effort: 5/10 Refining your banners is great, but don't enter them into contests.
Originality: 8/10 Looks great but you've used the squirtles a lot before.
Relation to the Challenge:10/10 Met requirments.
Overall: 9/10 Very unique, cool effects.
Total: 51/60

Monkeyking63
Effect: 6/10 I'd have liked to see more.
Color Usage: 7/10 Could use some shading.
Effort: 8/10 Quite a bit, but there still could have been more.
Originality: 7/10 Scenes have been done before.
Relation to the Challenge:10/10 Met requirments.
Overall: 6/10 Maybe I'm just not a big fan of the whole sprite scene thing but I just don't like it that much.

I would just like to say to BR, and the judges....That this has been such a fun contest! I've really enjoyed it. Thanks for putting alot of time into this contest. I don't really think I deserve to still be here, becasue alot of artists dropped out, or didn't enter their banner at all. But I'm honored to still be in competing with the best of the best.

Effect: 6/10 I'm really not a fan. I don't see much of an effect say for the transparency. The text kinda failed XD.
Color Useage: 7/10 The background itself could've used a little more TLC. Pikachu's colors look more dominant then any of the others.
Effort: 7/10 In a challenge where you can't do what your best at, it is still not bad. I can see some effort.
Originallity: 8/10 It was meh.
Relation to the Challenge: 10/10 Met qualifications.
Overall: 7/10 The text = malarkie. The overall thing was okay, you messed up misty though XD.

Bellomence:
Effect: 10/10 I actually like the lines, it gives it depth to me. Banette is just the coolest thing i've seen in all of PC.
Color Useage: 9/10 Fits the ghost, plain and appealing.
Effort: 9.5/10 I can see that you put quite a bit of effort into it, good job Bello!
Originallity: 8/10 We did types before, the design with the lines and banette are awsome though XD

INFERNAPE, I pretty much completely dissagree with what you just said! You completely deserve to be here. I know I learned just about everything I know from you're first contest, from yours, Lm's, and Bonsly1994's, criticism put me where I am today. I would say just that should bring you here! But when you through in all of your amazing artistic ability! You deserve to be here doubly! I think everyone here deserves to be here! No doubt about it in my mind!

Well Im glad some judges got their scoring done....thanks guys. Project Custom has been alot of fun.....and Im glad others are enjoying it as much as I have been. Almost everyone invited deserved to be here, I wouldnt have given an invite otherwise! The only thing that I would say people wernt really ready for was the variety in Project Custom. I see people who only do spriting or only do banners, and while they may be great at what they do, they dont do anything else well. Versitilty is really one of my main goals.....there arent many of those.....and it really shows whos a great artist. So I think Project Custom could serve as a learning ground for different styles of art next time.....I might make some basic tutorials instead of examples.....just to kinda show things to the people who arent aquainted with how-to. Lemme know what you guys think.....because my main goal is to inspire art, to have fun doing it, and to make artists better. If I accomplish the above, I've ran a sucessful contest.

I mostly agree, getting people to at least try something outside of their "specialty" is a great thing. But at the same time I would hope that most artists you invite are well enough established that they've already tried just about everything and don't need to learn anything new to compete. It would just kinda diminish the "elite" feel if the contestants are just learning.

Thats not to say that there shouldn't be a variety of challenges, there certianly should, I just think that the contestants should be able to handle variety themselves. And in order to aviod dropouts on the magnitude we recieved this time make sure they're full aware of that beforehand.

Well, that can go both ways.....there arent many artists I know on Beach that can do more than 3 forms of art well. I think that we can still hold the elite feel while being able to teach some extra skills in the process.....artists can be elite without specializing in more than one kind of art....Im just trying to open the door to more art.

Next time I will definately make clear this will be a hard and long tournament.....if you cant handle it, dont join up. I think that many people will know better now that we've seen it this time.

I still need scores from Shade and PMJ.....then we can get on to the last round before the Finals. Remember the vacay weeks are no longer in play :] I also need the PMs from AS and S_J on who should win and who should be out.
