I care a whole lot because these games were a huge part of my elementary school childhood, so to speak. Personal reasons really.

IDK why you brought that up, but yeah, I'd like that too. IDK why it wasn't brought back in BW2.

Lol idk why I brought it up either. I guess I felt like I needed to be justified or something.
Anyway yeah. I also think it should be done in the style of HG/SS. I mean like the entire feel of the game, the soundfont of the game, the....I don't know....smooth-ness of the game. Part of the reason I loved HG was because it just felt "right".

RE: Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire 10th Anniversary Coming Soon

A game where you can transfer Pokemon from the original R/S to the new R/S ten years later? Not very likely.

RE: Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire 10th Anniversary Coming Soon

UPDATE: A new event has been announced for Japan. In Pokemon Centres and other retail stores, such as Toys R Us, around the country you'll be able to get a Kyogre or Groudon to tie in with Ruby & Sapphire's 10th anniversary. If you have Black 2, you'll get Groudon, while if you have White 2 you'll get Kyogre. These events will run from November 21, 2012 to January 10, 2013.

RE: Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire 10th Anniversary Coming Soon

The Unova League starts in Japan next week! And, no 6th Generation Pokemon has been revealed yet. What's gonna happen after January? Zorua and Zoroark were revealed 7 months before Black and White were released in Japan.

Already? That was fast. I have no idea what's next, but I do think 6th gen is right around the corner, it's just a matter of time. Probably by the time the next movie comes out, they'll start revealing 6th gen Pokemon.

RE: Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire 10th Anniversary Coming Soon

The 16th movie won't be out until July 2013. They wait until then to reveal 6th Generation, then something else is coming before that.

More like 11, since even if they announced them right away it'd still take a year to release.

But yeah, UNLESS, the new RS was taking place a decade after the events of RS.

It doesnt make any sense to me for them to remake RS.
I mean, I can see that they would try milking the Hoenn-nostalgia alright, but even if they went for this, I'm convinced they would do something more creative like sequels or even a hybrid new mid-generation that takes place in Hoenn, or a Johto like extended region for Hoenn with Sandstorm/Hail legends etc etc. Just not remakes ala FRLGHGSS lol.

The star of the movie should be revealed by February, and since there is no gen V pokemon left to reveal, it will be something new.

The Unova League should be over by then. What are they going to do in between?

Thats the animes problem. Im sure they will think of something regardless of what gamefreak is working on. Like orange islands, Battle Frontier... I don't care, because Im only interested in the games.

It will likely depend on what the next games are in some way, but not the other way around.

Well again, IDK what they're going to do until then. There's not enough time for another main series game (nor is there any particular need for one), we're probably only going to get spinoffs until then.

So you think we'll be getting 6th gen information by then? That'd be awesome.

Something has to be the star, that we don't know yet. Genesect was revealed straight after the previous movie like its no big deal, meaning it is the co-star.

So unless its something completely unexpected like Venustoise or Groudon-Sandstorm-Forme.... lol, its gonna be a 6th gen poke like Lucario and Zoroark before.

RE: Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire 10th Anniversary Coming Soon

I would really want to see a sequel like version of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

I think they can do the most aesthetically with Hoenn, it has the most environments and they could really do a lot with 3d.
They could add some of the older pokemon and have an extended pokedex like the other new versions do.

I don't think they really need to add much to the Hoenn Dex. Aside from a lack of Ice types, it's okay as it is. I think maybe they should try and keep the Hoenn Dex at 250 if possible, adding in new evolutions and some more Ice types and other stuff to balance it out.

I love the Hoenn Region it brings back so many good memories. The Hoenn Pokédex had 202 Pokémon I remember because I finished it though I was 2 Pokémon away from having it perfect Jirachi and Deoxys I only had 200 never had them until Generation 4. As for the Hoenn Pokédex in the remakes I could see them adding these 9 Pokémon introduced in Generation 4

1.Gallade
2.Probopass
3.Magnezone
4.Budew
5.Roserade
6.Dusknoir
7.Chingling
8.Rhyperior
9.Froslass

Bringing the number from 202 to 211 I know not that much of a difference : )

They should also throw in Regigigas as well, given his relationship with the native Regi. Aside from that, add in a few random families (preferably 4th and 5th gen) to balance things out, and round out the Hoenn Dex to 250. For instance, they could add in more Ice type lines (maybe Cubchoo and Vanillite families), since the current Hoenn Dex only has the Spheal and Snorunt families.

You forgot Regice too it's cool though no pun intended : )
But yeah I definitely agree 6 Ice Types is not enough though I remember reading somewhere online before that the reason there weren't very many Ice Types in Hoenn was because of its tropical climate.

I know, I don't usually count legendaries.

Yeah, that's the reason, but still, I feel like they could add at least one or two in there. And Vanillite and Cubchoo seem like they'd be a good fit. Vanillite fits the tropical theme quite nicely, and Cubchoo (or to be more precise, Beartic) has a somewhat close association with Water despite not being an Ice type. Here's some other Pokemon I think might fit in the Hoenn Dex:

Shellos/Gastrodon (fun fact, they were originally intended to be introduced in 3rd gen but were cut and later introduced in 4th gen)
Dwebble/Crustle
Tynamo/Eelektrik/Eelektross
Frillish/Jellicent
Larvesta/Volcarona
Gible/Gabite/Garchomp (according to some of Gible's Pokedex entries, it seems to like warmer, tropical environments)
maybe a few other Water types (Alomomola, Mantyke, Remoraid, and Finneon come to mind).

No argument there with any of the Pokémon you posted especially with the Vanillite Family the hot weather and Vanillite's Ice Cream appearance makes perfect sense. Off topic but I also thought of this why don't they introduce a new Cryogonal Form it states in the Pokédex entry that when it's body temperature goes up it turns into steam it could be that maybe when the weather condition is sunny it changes what do you think?

I feel like Unova-mon would feel out of place.

What Id rather see is an expanded Hoenn with a new story, bunch of new legends, and say ~50 new pokes.

Like generation 5.5

Since it would rely on Hoenns starters still, they wouldn't have to make new ones for this minor expansion O:
