SSB Brawl Discussion Thread

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

Toon Link isn't cell-shaded.

But yes, he's way better in a lot of ways.

Xxashxx, if you learn how to use the bombs, they're not at all hard to control, au contraire, they even allow you to combo a lot of stuff, can edgeguard to an extent, and so on.
The spin move is only use for recovery and attacking out of shield, noting else.

Replacing Link would be blasphemy :S

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

I prefer toon Link to Link as he is much quicker and much easier to use. But what bugs me with Link is that he is excatelly the same as he was in Melee? -_____-

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

Link is not the exact same as Melee, he now has Cyclone Boomerang. That's not much of a difference, but his spin attack can be charged. Also, his hook shot homes on to the nearest ledge, as compared to Melee where it did not. Not too many major changes, but it is enough to create a whole new play style.

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

Are you people kidding me! Link was really good in melee if you know how to use his projectiles. Also in brawl he isn't that bad either.

I don't use him much but when I do he is difficult for me to use because I only have one good hand.:)

Using your common sense when trying to translate most terms works, look up the other ones, Smashwiki is probably the fastest way of finding an explanation.

Link's not slow, unless, I donno, you're spamming smashes. Or do you mean running speed?
Link can keep on pressuring, using the hookshot, his rather fast multi-hit aerials, and his many projectiles. Although this is kinda hard against some characters, coughmetaknightcough.

I personally thought he was decent in the original.

There were no truly bad characters in the original anyway.

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

The Original was the best for what the N^$ had for graphics. Man I wish I could get a hold of a Wii or play Brawl for 5 minutes because I have not played it yet but I hear it is a sweet game.:)

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

In my time away from constantly on PB, I've been playing this suprisingly. Started it up after about eight months of not playing it, and started to clear some Challenges. I've actually cleared quite a few and all I have left are the tedious ones (Boss Battle with all, All Star with all, Classic with all, 100 Man with all, 50 hours of Brawl, 1000 K.O., etc.) to complete. I love this game all over again! :D (But I still love Melee more. Heh.)

dmaster out.

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

Melee was the best and it had all the right Pokemon. They took some of the best ones out in Brawl. Oh well.:)

Well, I don't miss Pichu. God, if Brawl brought that demon back, I'd just have to say this is one of the worst sequels ever. Lucario is pretty cool, and he's a decent sub for Mewtwo. Brawl is actually really good in the Pokemon department, it's just everywhere else Brawl needs improvement, specifically gameplay and those such mechanics.

You can't have the best on everything.LOL.:)

Link just isn't good. -_- Projectiles like his are mainly for spammers.

Link is too slow on his feet and he has no really useful (high damage/high range that isn't a spammy projectile/high speed) moves.

Honestly, I think Brawl COULD have been made a little better. It should have had more 3rd party characters that we'd actually care about (i.e. geno or megaman). There aren't too many nintendo fanboys/fangirls that like snake. Also, the clones were terrible. They were better than melee, but we were promised no clones, and we were given clones. :(

All these problems will be fixed(hopefully) in the new SSB for the DS! Super Smash Bros Squable!

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

...Ganondorf owns everything. :D

Well, except for MK, Snake, Falco, Marth, ZSS, Samus...

I beg to differ, but really, my opinion probably doesn't matter much, as I've probably never brawled in the higher-up ranks of the game.

I've used Link as my main forever, and I win my fair matches on Wi-Fi and, of course, off of Wi-Fi, as well. And 90% of the time, if I don't come in 1st, it's either down to Sudden Death or second. So, really, I'd have to say Link is fairly good, at least when I use him.

But, again, my post may be ignorant to those that have tested and learned from the highest ranks of Brawl, so for that, I apologize.

Wait a minute? There is a Smash Bros coming out for the DS? Where did you hear that?:)

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

Wow, please tell me that wont happen.

Either way I want proof.

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

I haven't heard about the SSBDS. z-man, quit lying. >__>

Anyway, every game might need improvement, and what Brawl does, it does fine, but Melee did it better. With less hype I may add.
