Dixie Kong, Dr. Mario, Roy, Mewtwo, and yes, Toon Zelda/shiek and Pluse and Minum.

Also don't forget Blaiken was supposed to be a playable character and all the Pokemon including Raikou was supposed to be added as well but they had to scrap some because it woas bogging down the data. Ithink.:)

Blaziken was scrapped when Lucario was introduced, as Lucario was a more popluar Pokemon. Gardevoir was also playable in very early builds of the game but was taken out because she apparently ended up being too similar to Mewtwo (who I guess was still planned at the time).

I definitely heard about this, Blaziken would have been sweet.

I am glad Charizard made the playable list though. I have heard he is a great contestant in Brawl. Man I wish I had a Wii now.:)

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

Let's see.... PM23, Monk, and....Marin, is it? What is that video, PMJ?

In other news, I've collected all CDs, almost all trophies, beaten Boss Battles on Intense with Ness (or at least I think; it says I have, but I don't really remember), begun maining Toon Link and Jigz, and.....other things.

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

What I really don't get about Super Smash Bros. Brawl is how everybody plays competitively(sp?) - without items and banning characters/stages - when the creators made the game to "eliminate competitive battling" (they said something similar, at least). It's supposed to be a game for "casual gamers". And it's much more fun to win by luck than by just using mad skillz, (which you need more of when using items and all stages) anyways.

...Well. I bought Brawl when it was released here.
Or, four days earlier, actually. The store got them early. <3
Then, I played. Beat the Subspace - and unlocked every character - within seven hours or so.
The following days, I started playing with my friends and family. We did all the.. umm.. mission-thingys, and unlocked all stages within the next two days (if I remember correctly), and played with all random characters and stages for quite some time - with all items set 'On', of course.
One of my best gaming experiences, without doubt.

The game took a break for... half a year. Just recently, I've started playing again. I finally tried the Home Run-contest, and found that I fail epicly (I did manage past 400 with Fox or something, though). I'm now trying to clear all the challenges, but I doubt I'll ever succeed in my mission. Oh well.

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

See, there's the difference. It's way worse to lose when it's not even your fault, and winning when you know it's because you're potent, and not because you're lucky, is also way more satisfying. It also takes the game to new heights, ceilings never before reachable when playing with items, because the game is almost completely under human control, instead of the computer pretty much deciding the outcome.

You played the game for a few days, I played it for a year, and I played it semi-competitively (as in, competitive rules, but not in a competitive environment thanks to the fact that I live in an isolated country where there's little to no brawl community).

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

PMJ whats is that video? Xxashxx I though to did have a Wii thats why you made the offical bRawl thread

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

No I don't. I made this thread to discuss the secrets and anything that has to do with Brawl. When I get a Wii with Brawl I will be posting more often in here.:)

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

Question guys,
Why in the heck, are Ganondorf and Captain Falcon so alike, at least in special moves?
They have nothing to do with each other, they are from two totally different games.

From what I've heard, there really is no official explanation.

Personally, I think they didn't want anymore sword based characters, but were initially too short on time to create an entirely new moveset for him. And then they brought back clone Ganondorf in Brawl for uniformity with Melee, I'd presume.

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

That video is of some poor Peach player getting owned by a Mario/Luigi team, showcasing the usefulness of FLUDD in team play.

It's really quite awesome. :3

One rumor is that they decided to put Ganon in later in development, so they just made him a clone of C. Falcon.

^This

Actually, they modified clone Ganon. He's more awesome than he was in Melee. In some respects. Others he kinda sucks.

Besides, if he wasn't a clone of C. Falcon, then could he do this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roKcLsTJu0w

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

That does not explain why they have similar movsets. In Melee they were pretty close too but not exact. Maybe because they could not think of a good moveset for Ganondorf since his moves are/were strong in Melee but he was a bit slow. I don't think anyone will ever know why he has a bad moveset.:)

They just transferred him from Melee, almost exact moveset. :\

And he has a good moveset, they just need to replace the paunch with something else, increase his grabrange, and give him a better second jump. That would move him to Mid Tier.

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

Yeah I know what you mean because right now he is sort of a bad candidate for Brawl. They should have completely removed him and replaced him with another Zelda character like from A link to the Past or the new Zelda game.:)

WHAT?!

Ganondorf is too awesome to be prevented from being in Brawl.

The only suitable replacement would be Phantom Ganon from Wind Waker.

But yeah, taking Ganondorf out would be just about as bad as taking Bowser out, for those who know their Legend of Zelda.

*Vote for Toon Ganon*

dmaster out.

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

I thimk they should have Tetra on the next super smash that would be awsome!

RE: The official Super Smash Bros Brawl thread.

Wind Waker Ganon would be quite awesome (although he'd really have to be cell-shaped, like Toon Link should've been).

Removing Ganon is a HUGE no-no, though, why not go ahead and remove one of the most awesome final bosses in history. Giving a sword, on the other hand, is a must. Seriously, what's he doing without a sword anyway?

Replacing him with vaati is still a no, Vaati doesn't even come close to the awesomeness that is Ganondorf. And you'd really dare seperate Falcon from his father? :O
(Unless of course it's Vaati's final form :p)

Hear, hear.
You sir, should be in charge of making the next Super Smash Bros game.
