Star Wars - "Episode VII: The Force Awakens", spin-off movies & "Rebels"

Season 1 of Rebels seems to be drawing closer or even ended and
Ashoka appeared as a Rebel informant and the Inquisitor, one of the best characters, commited suicide because Vader's masochist sessions may be way too unbearable even for a Dark Side Adept. I'm really hoping to see Ashoka in Episode VII or another Episode as something aside from the new Jedi Order made by Luke and I wouldn't mind to see the Inquisitor brought back "a la Maul style" but instead due the Dark Side of the Force, like the previously canonical Darth Sion, despite not being a Sith.

2nd teaser trailer:

In all honesty, I'm not that eager! I can't hear the name Skywalker anymore, that Sith remembered me of some early Power Rangers*, I still can't understand the advantage of having those hand protections in the sith l.saber when they only start after a piece of metal so they can be cut by another blade slipping through it from the tip, that afro stortrooper seems confused and dumb as always, the black stormtrooper seems to be follwoing that cliche that the one different is better but ends up dying with honor or joining the good side, the girls seems to e there to please the guys, namely those jerks piloting X-wings like kids with toys that go to combate and die in a stupid way but get honored as brave guys who died in combat.
In all of this, poor R2! I hope Han gets home only to have a heart attack and dies, along with Chewie.

The new helmets, aside from the Stormtroopers', look ridiculous and an older version instead of a new one!! The flametrooper looks like Robocop!
Also, Kylo looks like Dr. Doom!
This movie should be called "Episode VII: Vintage"!

Looking forward to episode 7! The trailer was way better than the first.

Unfortunately, the black dude is confused as always and the X-wing pilot seems as childish as ever, not to mention that his helmet seems a cheap prop! I really will need to see the trailer to decide if I watch in movie theaters or wait for it to be aired.

Rogue One Details Revealed at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim

Director Gareth Edwards unveils story elements and more from Rogue One -- the first film in the newly named Star Wars Anthology Series.
Major announcements and several clues about the new Star Wars stand-alone movies were made at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim today when Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, Kiri Hart, and Pablo Hidalgo were joined in a panel discussion by director Gareth Edwards and Industrial Light and Magic’s John Knoll.
Kathleen Kennedy revealed that the upcoming big screen adventures that explore the characters and events beyond the core Star Wars saga will be known as the Star Wars Anthology Series.Up until now, details around the first entry in the Anthology Series, Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One, have been minimal. Edwards revealed that the film will revolve around a rogue band of resistance fighters who unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans and bring new hope to the galaxy. “I couldn’t sit in a cinema and know that someone else made this film,” Edwards said in the panel. Fans were treated to concept art and a brief video that caused a packed house to erupt.
Several Rogue One crew members attached to the production include director of photography Greig Fraser (Foxcatcher, Zero Dark Thirty), special effects supervisor Neil Corbould (Gravity, Gladiator), casting director Jina Jay (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, War Horse), and sound designer Chris Scarabosio (There Will be Blood, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith).
Star Wars veterans transitioning from The Force Awakens to Rogue One include co-production designers Doug Chiang (Star Wars Episodes I & II) and Neil Lamont (supervising art director for the Harry Potter series, Edge of Tomorrow), stunt coordinator Rob Inch (World War Z, Captain America: The First Avenger), creature effects supervisor Neal Scanlan (Prometheus) and co-costume designers Dave Crossman (costume supervisor for the Harry Potter series, Saving Private Ryan), and Glyn Dillon (costume concept artist for Kingsman: The Secret Service, Jupiter Ascending).
Rogue One hits theaters December 16, 2016.

Seriously, a movie about the stealing of the Death Star's plans and by another rogue group? Tch, no wonder that thirty years from the fall of the Empire they're still "rebels" and "resistance"...f****** morons. By Tyranus, I want to know more about the characters from the upcoming movies, not about something that could be done by the Rebels series or some comic.

The Star Wars: Rouge Squad teaser really excites me! That looks barely better than the already awesome TFA! So pumped!

The helmet isn't a cheap prop. Disney has a multi million dollar budget. This isn't a high school play.

The way it moves - too much for a helmet - when the pilot moves his head looks like some cheap prop, a bucket on someone's head and something that perhaps isn't well designed.
That budget doesn't mean that you'll get top quality in every single detail of the movie and that cheap solutions for covering holes are out of equation.

Yes because a chrome stormtrooper with a mildly different helmet makes things "look grim". This proves that the movie will be terrible. Why can't they make everything look the same?!

Things are looking grim. The First Order pilot chasing the Millenium Falcon seems like a it has a duck helmet and her suits makes it look like a silver C3PO. This thing looks like something coming out of late 80's/early 90's space cartoons full of shiny ships and armour.
The good thing is if J.J. really includes the bones of Binks in the desert!!

Well aren't you a ray of sunshine.

You do know that star wars itself was the epitome of those late 80's, early 90's space cartoons, right? A new hope came out in the late seventies, I think.

It's something really curious; everybody I know who is older, or watched the original trilogy when little (like me), is as happy with the new movies as could be, after being thoroughly disappointed with the crappy series (and I'm talking about the clone wars and rebels here) and boring videogames (the force unleashed, etc) the franchise devolved into in the last... 15 years? let's go with 10 to be kind.
The point is, everyone who knows about cinema, and/or watched those movies when they were new and groundbreaking loves every little amazing piece of news that has been released, especially that adorable little ball2D2, and I don't think that this is coincidence.

I'd guess that younger people are just not used to the creative powerhouse the original trilogy was, and they were forever ruined by the crappy prequels and series.

As an older fan who grew up with the original trilogy as a kid, I'm so hyped for everything about these movies. It seems like it'll be great and a lot of fun so far. Even the short teaser trailers have soul.

Yeah, the original trilogy was made back in that time but these are new ones and being set 30 years after the events in those movies, it's more than enought time to have new stuff instead of just nostalgia factor. If it was right after the Battle of Endor, I wouldn't mind but thirty years?
I've also watched the original trilogy as a child and liked it I simply don't see anythting out of the extraordinary about the upcoming, except for seeing Jar-Jar's bones in the desert.
Right now I can't say if it's better that the prequels since I've watched a long time ago and I honestly can no longer watch Attack of the Clones and in Revenge of the Sith, I can only watch until the Malevolence crashes on Coruscant and then jump to Order 66.
This said, one of the things that I like in the prequels is the scope of it in terms of locations and ships. Sure, very little is due to the prequels by themselves because the original ones are a product of time and had bigger limit than the new ones, namely about shotting/creating new locations and starships but, looking at how the new movie is being promoted...another sandy planet, another icy planet...I know there are perhaps only a few novelty places available but in like we're back in Tatooine or Hoth again. What's next, a new Mustafar? Oh wait, the new Battlefront game already has it and it's being promoted as something that will be mentioned and serve as background to the new movie.
After seeing Kylo Ren's badass but stupid lightsaber, a black dude always confusing like he's going through existencial issues, enemies called "The First Order" (because something with Order in it looks cool), an helmet prop that seems worse than those in the prequels, soldies in formation where one looks like he has a neck problem, snowtroopers that look medieval, a soldier that looks a Stortmrooper C3PO whose helmet's colour scheme make it look like a duck's beak...oh yeah, and Skywalker, King of the Galaxy, is back (what are the odd of the new one also losing a hand?). And the new robot? Seems like it's what electric rodents are for Pokémon, and he's already the third.
Yeah, everything is going great in a galaxy far, far away. LOL.

I actually liked the prequels a lot. They had much better lightsaber battles (the one from episode 4 bored me to tears, they literally only moved their arms) and introduced many cool planets like Geonosis and Kamino. Plus, it gave backstories to many characters like Boba Fett, Obi Wan, Yoda, Darth Vader, etc. 3 is actually my favorite movie of the 6.

With that being said I like the original trilogy more but I think that episode 7 will be great and I'm looking forward to December.

If you go see on YT a video about lightsabers, you'll discover why they sucked in Episode 4. They were still figuring out the materials and problems of battling, with the "stick" that would be the blade falling off due to impact when dueling and Lucas having this idea that lightsabers should be heavy and used with two hands but that evolved into lighter lightsabers/props, which made possible one-handed combat and served as an allusion to Luke's training being unorthodox in comparison with the old Jedi but showed improvement with each major battle. Again, all this, the ships and the planets stuff, because of what was available at different times.

Saw an English language article about Uprising today. I was mildly interested until I saw the word "mobile" followed shortly by the phrase "free-to-play" and then I lost all interest. I don't have anything against F2P and mobile games as a whole, and this seems like it's actually not all that horrible as far as games in that category go, I just have little enough free time and video game interest these days that I would rather play something fulfilling and complete. That and it just seems like a very generic, dungeon-crawler sort of game.

As far as the platform goes, it's a waste of potencial and something that I'll never touch but the story and time setting seems nice. I think I've read about it before and critized it because it mentioned a Rebel cell, which I still don't like it because all those who oppose the Empire aren't necessarily Rebels despite being rebels. Aside from this and the bulky black armoured soldier, I think it's interesting to have something outside Lando and Han. Also, too bad that there's a bounty hunter because the producers always seem to go back the figures of Luke, Leia, Chewie, R2-D2, Han or Lando and the Millenium Falcon to have a Jedi, a female, a companion, a droid, a smuggler and a smuggler ship.
All this said, I'm keeping an eye, also because it features Cloud City and I've fell in love with it after watching it's sunset...mixed with the movie, it seems like a memory from the 80's and Ralphie's concept art......

I am a huge star wars geek!

1 - Who is your favorite character in the Star Wars universe and why? Boba Fett. He is cool, and I am just like him
2 - Would you like to be a Jedi, a Sith or something else? Why? Bounty hunter because I would make the most money
3 - If in the previous question you've answered Jedi or Sith, which powers would you like to have/learn?
4 - If in question 2 you've answered Jedi or Sith, would you like to have a certain Jedi or Sith as your master? Why?
5 - What's your favorite ship? Slave I

Here's a new trailer (gameplay) for SW: Uprising:

Also, the reveal trailer that I forgot to post:

The gameplay seemed boring as lacking...looking at the reveal trailer, I seriously wouldn't mind amovie about it and in the style of it.
