‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Will Feature Parkour!

The adorably named Pip Anderson was just added to the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. He’s a parkour guy, so he’ll likely flip around the rest of the cast as they fire lasers at him, narrowly missing (as they often do in this far away galaxy). You can watch him ply his trade in the video above. It must be asked: does anyone else think J.J. Abrams is tempting fate casting another guy who could easily snap his leg on set? How many legs have to break to sate this maniac and his mystery box?!?!

He’s joined by Crystal Clarke, a lady! It’s a good thing too, because without more ladies, this trilogy might not have any scenes of powerful political leaders dying of broken hearts in childbirth.

Clarke’s bone density is unknown at this time, though, really, anything could happen…

Be sure to go to the website and watch the commercial.

Ahahahaha, I'm laughing so hard at this. I've yet to watch the video but that text is already awesome and fun! :D:p

RE: Star Wars - "Episode VII" and "Rebels" Discussion Thread

1 - Who is your favorite character in the Star Wars universe and why?
Starkiller/Galen Marek. He's in general really awesome cause he starts out a baddie and turns good. Also really powerful in terms of force power and lightsaber skills. He beat Shaak Ti who The Clone Wars made me hate.
2 - Would you like to be a Jedi, a Sith or something else? Why?
I would choose to be someone who is trained in all sides of the force so that I could make decisions on my own about life. Some of the sith powers are really cool but I like the noble jedi way.
3 - If in the previous question you've answered Jedi or Sith, which powers would you like to have/learn?
Lightning, lightsaber skills, mind trick, all the cool jedi stuff. I'd like to have mastery of one or two lightsaber forms too.
4 - If in question 2 you've answered Jedi or Sith, would you like to have a certain Jedi or Sith as your master? Why?
I'd like Mace Windu or Dooku as my master. Both are great swordsmen and warriors.
5 - What's your favorite ship?
Y-wing bomber

‘Star Wars Rebels’: First look at ‘Rebel hunter’ villain Agent Kallus

As the fall premiere of “Star Wars Rebels” grows ever closer, we’re getting more familiar with the characters created to bring us into this new era of the space saga. On the bad guy side, images of the Inquisitor has been available for a long time, but now we’re getting our first look at his right-hand man, Agent Kallus, the so-called “Rebel hunter.” And the actor selected to voice him, David Oyelowo.

Oyelowo’s acting career is red-hot right now. In the last couple of years, he’s appeared in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” “Lincoln,” “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” and has upcoming roles in Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” and will play Martin Luther King Jr. in “Selma.” Now he’s voicing the evil agent of the Empire, working for the Imperial Security Bureau. The way “Rebels” executive producer Dave Filoni describes it, it’s a little like the FBI and a little like the military police.

One of the most striking things about Kallus is his impressive facial hair, two imposing sideburns that sweep down the side of his face.

“We definitely wanted to capture that ’70s feeling that was so strong in ‘A New Hope,’” says Filoni. “Art director Kilian Plunkett and I looked at a lot of reference to try and make that influence fit into ‘Rebels.’ At one point we had [Rebel pilot] Zeb in bell bottoms.”

Unlike some of the more outlandish “Star Wars” looks, Kallus’ mutton chops are easy to grow for potential cosplay opportunities.

“I’m hoping to see some people sporting that look at Comic-Con next year,” Filoni adds.

Getting an actor of Oyelowo’s stature for the series was something of a coup for the “Rebels” creative team. He may not yet be a household name, but fans have bandied his name about as perfect casting for iconic characters such as James Bond and Doctor Who.

“We actually had David read for several different parts,” Filoni said. “We knew we wanted to use him, but weren’t quite sure where.”

According to Oyelowo, the role in “Star Wars” is what it takes to elicit shrieks of joy from his children when it comes to his work.

“I wish I had that when I was going off to film a scene in ‘The Butler’ or something in ‘Lincoln,’” Oyelowo says in the video. “But no. ‘Star Wars Rebels’ gets the big scream.”

I like that the character is not the standard by-the-book soldier, only using what's assigned to it but too bad that it seems to follow somewhat that blond evil guy!

Leaked 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Plot Details Revealed

The one thing everyone knows about J.J. Abrams is that he cherishes secrecy, his "Mystery Box" as he likes to put it. It's one thing to keep the Star Trek into Darkness villain a secret but keeping anything about Star Wars: Episode VII a mystery has proven to be a challenge. Try as he might, set photos and plot details have leaked at a fairly consistent pace, and now some key story points may have just been revealed once again. These will be considered a SPOILER so only read on if you don't mind.
Taking place about 30 years after Return of the Jedi, the story has long been said to follow a trio of young heroes who will eventually come across familiar characters Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia. Badass Digest's Devin Faraci now adds some context to that, beginning immediately after the classic Star Wars logo crawl. It is then that a severed hand gripping a lightsaber is discovered on a desert planet by the characters played by John Boyega and Daisy Ridley. Recognizing it as a Jedi relic they will set out on a journey to return the weapon to its owner, a quest that will take them off world.

It's then the two will encounter Han Solo and Chewbacca, who will not be flying in the Millennium Falcon, although we know from set photos the ship will be seen in some capacity. They won't have seen Luke since the events of Return of the Jedi, and recognizing the saber as his, will join in on trying to find him. Meanwhile a super weapon capable of destroying galaxies is being built in secret on an icy planet. By who and for what purpose is unclear.

How much of this is accurate we probably won't know until the film comes out in December 2015, but it doesn't seem to contradict anything learned previously. Expect more information to be rumored or leaked to the Internet between now and the film's release.

^ I'm tempted but I know I'll start judging and imagining how I think it'll be and then it might not even be like the spoilers or if it is, it'll most likely end up different than my expectations and daydreaming! :p
I'll try even not to see the trailers when they start coming out.

New trailer for "Rebels" with a character's return!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg5YN3LAGw4

I really don't like Ezra...seems too much like a new Anankin, strong with the Force, akward (Ani) to no parental relation and then....creepy bright blue eyes! Was this kid again made while abusing on midi-chlorians!?
Also the gang's leader isn't that much bright. He's a Jedi being hunted and for defeating some stormtroopers and Officer he has to draw his lightsaber!? For alli can see, their armor is still pretty weak and they're dumb to the point of watching closely a sticky bomb. The officer is also dumb because seeing a guy just "screwing" a lightsaber doesn't mean is a Jedi (it could be a smuggler or a treasure hunter), namely when they use the Force to assemble the lightsabers.
Also Obi-Wan! Seriously, that guy just seems like a coward who jumped off the boat and left it in charge of some gang. This is the guy that failed to kill Maul (yes, he managed to survived due to the Dark Side but still), failed to kill Anakin and now goes on some vacations on the desert? C'mon!

BIG NEWS UPDATE FROM COMIC-CON

1 - Three new comics
"Marvel dropped a thermal detonator of an announcement at today’s Cup o’ Joe panel, revealing three new Star Wars comics helmed by all-star creative teams: Star Wars, an ongoing series by Jason Aaron and John Cassaday (coming January 2015); Star Wars: Darth Vader, an ongoing series by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca (coming February 2015); and Star Wars: Princess Leia, a five-issue miniseries by Mark Waid and Terry Dodson (coming March 2015). All canonical within the Star Wars universe, each book will pick up where Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope left off, filling in important, previously unexplored gaps for some of the saga’s most iconic characters."

From (and more in):
http://www.starwars.com/news/sdcc-2014-inside-marvels-new-star-wars-comics-exclusive

2 - An Asajj Ventress novel (featuring Quinlan Vos) by Christie Golden!
Filoni: “Ventress had become one of the most interesting characters…we had all this material, we had all these designs…This is based on scripts we had written with George Lucas…I’m super excited about this book.”

Cover below:

From a live blog (http://www.starwars.com/news/sdcc-2014-star-wars-a-new-dawn-panel-liveblog):
"Heddle says that it will be more of a novel for adults, and Hidalgo notes that the novel will be able to go deeper in ways that the show could not."

3 - Three new Star Wars Rebels videos, revealing the series' inclusion of the droid duo C-3PO and R2-D2 and that Luminara Unduli is apparently alive and didn't fell with Order 66.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6GxTMpyjls
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYkXif5Q2mA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6X1jfU9PIE

The comics must be a way to start adressing some incoming issues pertaining the new trilogy for those fans that follow everything SW related and that the movie fans won't loose much (if anything). Darth Vader's lightsaber seems like a toothpick!
As for the Asajj novel...it's a shame that it's a novel and not an animated series or even live-action! Aside from the movies, why do every other mature content come out as "side" material and far from TV!? Deeper ways? Sex? Come on, things have a rating for something!
C-3PO voice looks akward but that might be perhaps because the actor won't be (I don't know) the one from the movies. Ezra still appears as another Chosen One kid and Luminara Unduli is alive? Keeping a Jedi Master alive? Either they're keeping her to extract informatin or, just like Ackbar said: "It's a trap!"

RE: Star Wars - "Episode VII" and "Rebels" Discussion Thread

Christie Golden's a good author; her work on Fate of the Jedi was great. It's good to know that we'll still be getting some good books, even with the death of the EU.

First 7 minutes from the first episode of "Rebels":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZn_TrwbPN8&feature=youtu.be

"Who are those guys!?"
"Who is that kid!?"
...
"Who am I!?"

I'm not really liking what I saw. Bland colors but very bright environment. It also starts with some old clichés like the powerfull abusing the poor old man who's been around for a long time to remember the old days and rejoice with the Rebellion, the fat and skinny duo, the smartass kid who ends up finding good friends.

RE: Star Wars - "Episode VII" and "Rebels" Discussion Thread

I'm really hoping that one of the spinoff movies is about Starkiller. The Force Unleashed as a movie would be amazing. As for Star Wars Rebels, I think that Mace Windu should have been the surviving Jedi and not Unduli. Windu had his hand chopped off and thrown out a window, but Anakin had his hand chopped off and was thrown around as well in episode 2, yet he survived. Rebels looks promising, but I'm not sure if I'll watch the entire series :p

Wasn't Starkiller erased from canon!?
As for Windu...good guys always die. Qui-Gon only had a hole (didn't seemed near the heart) and yet died while Maul was cut in half and survived due to his hatred and Dark Force! I prefer Unduli to Windu because like said here before, Windu felt more like Samuel Jackson Jedi version than the Jedi Mace Windu being portrayed by Samuel Jackson.

I'm really curious as to what their role will be. I wish that Lupita started as a Jedi apprentice and then in latter movies becomes a Dark Jedi (no pun intended!) and eventually a Sith Lady. I'm already seeing her carrying some red lightsaber (plays Sidious theme). Muahahaha.

Despite wanting this to happen in the movies, I'd also like to see it in Rebels, because Barriss Ofee ended up jailed and somewhat of a Dark Jedi, so she could be the Inquisitor's trainer (since he's not a Sith) and the one that captured Luminara Unduli, having already fallen to the Dark Side! :D

Two new "Rebels" shorts

- "Machine in the Ghost"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgoDwquiwRM

- "Art Attack"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dSJRKB8x9E

This series is really looking dummy and childish as predictable. The first short is already giving us the romantic couple and in the second, while is nice to see a Mandalorian that's not some spartan-inspired character like the race is, that explosion is akward because it makes a big boom and fireworks only to have blasted paint? Also, the Ghost has amazing shields even when they're down, while the TIE's are absolute crap, just like Stormtrooper armor.
Yeah, I'm not even going to watch this show. I'll gather images pertaining the Inquisitor because it seems a great character but I won't even see "his" episodes!

RE: Star Wars - "Episode VII" and "Rebels" Discussion Thread

Man, are you kidding me? I'd watch it just for the ligthsaber battles and use of the force. Those are probably two of the coolest concepts ever conceived in the sci-fi genre, and seeing fights involving them is awesome. Granted, it's cooler in live-action movies but it's still pretty sweet in cartoons and video games.

I like the lightsaber duels but they have good and bad sides. The duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin versus Count Dooku in that "Lost Season" is pretty amazing, awesome and the best I've seen because they didn't needed Christopher Lee's head and a stunt for the action moves, which also applies to a lesser extent to other actors, so being animated and not live-action grants freedom of moves and in my opinion Dooku (unfortunately) never had much combat time in movies because of what's needed.
The bad side, not in being animated but being in this series is that it (almost) never poses any threat or moments of suspense. In the Clone Wars,
Maul and Oppress (one of them)
decapitated
Black Sun's entire council of leaders
and the bodies without heads weren't shown because...it's a kid's show.

As for the Force, yeah it's very cool but as always, the movies and animated series (mostly this last one) don't show many or any Forces moves aside from the usual boosted jump, force pull/push and lightining (oh yeah, and the occasional mind trick).

PS: still about the duel, the Inquisitor, visual wise, seems great "despite" not being a Sith (and that's exactly one of the main factors for liking it because he's not just another Sith apprentice/dark acolyte but just an evil and calculating bastard who's eficient at what he does) and the look of his lightsaber seem fine but then, it starts spinning automatically, like a cheaper version of Grievous' technique and the worst of all is that we probably won't get any sort of explanation of how and when that lightsaber was created, if it is indeed inspired on Grievous (even in story, if the Inquisitor has been looking at records from the Clone Wars and read about Grievous or what was he doing (if born already) during that time) because the star of the show seems to be "New Ani", a.k.a. the kid with akward bright blue eyes which I can't remember...Ezra, that's it, and the merry gang of Rebels that seem more like a circus' group than Rebel fighters because it's a kids' show.

Together, they will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures, and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.
At the Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion Fan Event at San Diego Comic-Con this year, the movie garnered rave reviews from fans who found the story and look akin to the classic trilogy of films. The series’ designs are influenced by the work of original Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie.
Star Wars Rebels is created by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Sherlock Holmes), and Carrie Beck. The Lucasfilm Animation production is also executive-produced by Filoni and Kinberg as well as Greg Weisman (Gargoyles).

RE: Star Wars - "Episode VII" and "Rebels" Discussion Thread

Currently watching a 45 minute "ad" of the Star Wars Rebels stuff. So far the first part is just one of the shorts, but I'm only a couple minutes in. Not sure what it is, I wasn't paying attention at the start of the "ad" but it said something about a "preview of the whole movie" and that I was chosen to see it (probably doesn't mean much, must be a random thing.)

So yeah, didn't see that on the list of events posted earlier, just looking for any ideas why this happened. Let you know how it was when it's over.

Edit: Almost done, about 10 minutes left. You might not believe it, but the bad guys name was Callous : / seriously? So far it seems that it's just a long episode about the Ezra kid getting to become a part of the rebels crew.

Edit2: Final thoughts, spoilered cause spoilers.

It appears as though the name of this was Spark of Rebellion. It ended being ok, the "Callous" thing was annoying, but w/e. They ended up saving a bunch of wookies from being slaves, Ezra shows off some force potential, and does a jump of about 15 feet or so over the top of a troopers head. to save a young wookie. Shows the Inquisitor at the end, which was cool. The wookies were kinda ugly compared to the rest of the characters, the hair style the use with this animation looks bad when covering the body, as it does on wookies. Overall kinda "meh," little use of the force or lightsabers. Ezra is taken on by the "main" guy (forgot his name) as a padawan of sorts.

So yeah, appears as though it was just the Spark of Rebellion movie that was on Disney XD, so I'm really just giving my thoughts on that I guess. Interesting watch, not very exciting though.

Has this drone revealed the Star Wars film set?

The secretive set of the new Star Wars film may have been inadvertently recorded by a man flying his drone in Berkshire

Drone footage has emerged that appears to show the set of the new Star Wars film in Berkshire.
Justin Reeves was flying his drone near Greenham Common, a former RAF airbase in Berkshire, on Saturday when he caught sight of what turns out to be a partly-built Millennium Falcon and two X-Wing fighters. The still below, taken from Reeves' footage, clearly depicts two docked X-Wing fighters and a partly constructed Millennium Falcon cloaked in a blue tarpaulin (on the right).

Production details around the movie have been kept highly secretive, however, pictures emerged on Wednesday after Matthew Myatt was flying over the area to take publicity shots for a flying school and accidentally caught the set on camera.

I'll see it if I catch that on Yt or something.
As far as I know, that main Jedi guy was still a Padawan by the time of Order 66 and now he has taken Ezra as Padawan, so in the end it's just a Samurai Anakin with a child brat creepy eyed Anakin. Boy, do I love action and muscle. Just yesterday I was seeing an unfinished 4-episode plot on Utapau and Anakin was just plain stupid with Obi-Wan being wise and cautious but having to save Anakin's b*tt. Why it always have to come down to this, only action, no Jedi tricks or new abilities because we're Knights and Knights cut first, ask later. Seriously, I would like to see more of the so-called Consulars and their diplomacy effort (but also knowing how to fight and plan a battle).
Abour Kallus, he seems a wannabe-lycan officer. The Inquisistor is the only good thing in this show, since stormtroopers are still idiots despite most of them still being Jango clones that were rather effective in the Clone Wars.

RE: Star Wars - "Episode VII" and "Rebels" Discussion Thread

The Rebels show has serious problems. The Clone Wars got cancelled because of Disney and perhaps because the budget required for such good animation was huge and now we have a show with awful, horrible and terrible animation compared to the previous show, with the finest example of this being the Wookies that now look like furry apes more than furry beasts. Also, only now has Disney - after the good reviews - signed in for a second season. WTF? So Disney gives the producers little money and expect people to like a show with poor animation due to a lower budget? It was almost like a miracle that Rebels didn't got screwed by reviews because it certainly deserves that. The characters' hair looks like rubber, the story is lame, with Ezra not knowing what is a lightsaber but in the end (before the jedi invitation and without any explanation given to him) Ezra knows (he's corrected) the Jedi are extinguished. Also, Stormtroopers get hit in the shoulder and die and a Wookie that almost looks furless only gets injured a bit?, and Kallus armor seems almost pointless, namely the helmet that has no breathing support.
Btw, the big guy was described as being smart but he's nothing more than a big child with muscles that got Ezra captured and then seems like he cares. If he cared, why the play in the battlefield? He's nothing more than a big purple lemur and the typical brute.

In the end, Rebels is a stain.
