RE: TCG Discussion (New Guidelines for Appropriate Topics - Please Read Before Posting)

Not sure where to put this and don't think it needs its own thread so I'll post here:

I just received a full set of Japanese Southern Islands cards still in their original cardboard/plastic sleeves. I'd like to take them out and put them with the rest of my collection in a binder, but I'm not sure if they have value and if this would destroy part of that value. Thoughts?

The question you have ask yourself is, are you worried about value or do you want to show off your cards.

That completely depends on what sort of value I'd be losing. I mean if its going to take them down from a $50 set to a $20 set thats one thing, but if its going from potentially $500 --> $40 then that is a different beast altogether isn't it haha.

BTW, turns out I have a few extra of them (jungle, flowers, sea, etc) if anyone is interested I'll add to my trade thread.

Unless I'm wrong in how I'm amusing it works - All the AR data is stored in the actual program itself, not the card which just tells it which one to display.

Like Ophie said, eShop would be a perfect candidate for downloading the software. It would definitely be a cool extra. It would give me a reason to buy more.

Hey, does anybody know of any stores that sell the "V for Victini" tin? I went to 2 Toys R Us stores, 2 Targets, and a Wal•Mart today, and none of them have it. The only tins they have are the Unova starter ones, the fully-evolved Unova starter ones, and the Entei-Raikou-Suicune ones (minus Suicune).

RE: TCG Discussion (New Guidelines for Appropriate Topics - Please Read Before Posting)

The only place I've seen it out of all the local big box retailers was Walmart, and even our local Walmart got it incredibly late compared to others. It might just be a matter of time.

RE: TCG Discussion (New Guidelines for Appropriate Topics - Please Read Before Posting)

All right. When did you start seeing it? I didn't even see tags on the shelves for these tins, meaning they've never had them in the first place.

I don't remember the exact dates, unfortunately, but it was mid-late January when I was finally able to get one. I'd checked about couple weeks before with no luck. They didn't even have a separate price tag; they were just tossed in with the rest of the tins.

Try going to any of your local gaming stores. Usually, they have a large supply since that's what they specialize in. Plus, the prices are cheaper.

They have been out since mid December at my Wal-marts and Targets. You may have to try on-line store, eBay or trade for it.

All right. I hate getting things online because of the chance that the package gets misdelivered or stolen (which most recently happened the last time I tried to buy something from Amazon--the neighbors got my chiseling set instead.) Since I've heard that the tins are still on their way around the country, I think I'll wait some more.

Or I'll try another Wal•Mart, because the one I went to does not sell TCGs at all.

See, all of the local ones either have prices at least twice that of regular stores or have gone out of business. It's something I'm pretty frustrated about. My favorite one is now an annex to the next-door laundromat (which used to be another hobby shop).

I have another question now. Can I use Heavy Ball to acquire one half of a Pokémon LEGEND card? If so, which half am I allowed to get, or can I get either half?

So what is the general perception of the online TCG thing that started up last year? Is it worth getting into, i mean i do have some codes are redeemed for boosters today. I see they also give you a theme deck and some sort of starter set?

Just curious to hear some opinions on this, i'm just getting back into pokemon after 3 years away.

Most people I know say that playtcg.me is better and I agree.

Ways it is better:
Less glitchy
More in game freedoms (you get to choose how to do powers instead of doing how they tell you, etc)
You get to use every card from the start, you don't have to buy boosters (biggest advantage)
You get to choose who your opponent is, or you can do a random match. PTCGO (the official online game) always does random games.

Basically, PlayTCG is a little bit harder to use at first, but once you get used to it, the general consensus is that it's better than the official one.

Answer is here
No, basically, they only have attributes such as that when they're in play.

Okay then. I can still use Pokémon Communication to swap out a Pokémon in my hand with half of a LEGEND card, right?

(And there isn't ever going to be anything Nintendo officially releases that doesn't have some unofficial alternative everyone else flocks to in Pokémon, is there?)

Yes you can. LEGENDs are still Pokemon

And probably not lmao.

The first question belongs in the ruling forum.

How many cards in the Next Destinies set have reverse holos? I'm trying to collect the full set with variants.

All of them except EX, FA EX and the Shinies.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a shiny in the TCG? Which ones are shiny in Next Destinies?

Shiny is the term applied to alternate colored Pokémon, like Ash's Noctowl.

The shiny cards are 100/99 - 103/99
The RH are for 1/99 - 93/99
