The best counter in my opinion, is Umbreon UD. If that is the only card put, you can totally lock the opponent. Sableye is also good for KOing Ghastly and other starters early game. The only thing about using specific techs like that the rest of the deck has to be viable against other decks in the meta.

I reckon Absol Prime will be used as a Lostgar counter, it's able to OHKO a Gengar, but the only draw back is the Pokemon you have to put into the Lost Zone. It's also a basic so it's easy to put into most decks.
Also Absol X can be used as a Lostgar counter it can OHKO a gengar after a crobat G drop.

The amount of people that are going to run Umbreon could cause Lostgar to fail. I know I will be running one in any of my decks that isn't Lostgar, just because it is a hard match-up for any deck. In fact, I may even run it in Lostgar.

I think an awesome deck for states would be blazechomp with an Umbreon tech. Blaziken counters Dialga, Umbreon counters Gengar, Toxicroak G Promo Counters Luxray, and Garchomp counters other Garchomps. It seems like a great play and is really consistent.

No, just a basic dark energy. You can't search the special dark with Cyrus. Also, the point of Umbreon is to wall, you don't need to do any extra damage.
Also, I have most of it built. Something weird about it though is there is tons of extra space for a deck like this. It is really consistent, so I'm not complaining.
