BW/BW2 The Simple 5th Gen VG Questions and Answers Thread

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

You might get a better move on it, but other than that, I don't think so.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

In BW & BW2, if I use Protect and my opponent uses Outrage, and they use the last one in the roll, do they get confused? I know in 4th Gen they didn't, so I was wondering if it was fixed, thanks.

If a Pokemon with Outrage is stopped with anything, not just Protect (Confusion, Paralysis etc) when it's not supposed to stop normally (I.e Turn 2 on 3 Turn Outrage), then, it won't get confused.

However, if said Pokemon was stopped on the turn it was meant to stop, it will still be confused at the end. This applies to Petal Dance as well.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

When are the pokemon supposed to start appearing in the Hidden Grottoes? Cause I've found 2, including the one Bianca shows you, accidentally killed the Minccino, and now there's none in any of them...

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

After 256 (I think) steps, the Grottoes have a 5% chance of regenerating. They have a 40% chance of having an item, 40% chance of having a hidden item, and a 20% chance of a Pokemon. A species of Pokemon can only be encountered once (e.g. finding a Watchog, catch it, the Watchog will not be there when it regenerates.

For your question, some carry items when they are first discovered. Just be patient, and you will be rewarded ^_^

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

While I wait, I'm catching all of N's pokemon. Right now, I've got Sandile, Sigilyph, and Ferroseed as well as Zorua.

Are you sure because the first time I went to the Hidden Hollow at the ranch there was a Marill, and a couple of visits later there was another Marill, and I caught both.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

Thanks for the help, but the problem is that I've tried entering my settings already. When I get the chance I'll post the settings I entered for my Wi-Fi connection, and then if there's any problems they can be pointed out.

Can I remove shops from Join Avenue? If so, how do I go about that?

The only method I know to remove them is to replace them with OTHER shops.
I´m not sure if you can remove shops anytime you want. I´ll try it later.

Only when all the spots are taken and you try to add another they will ask you to choose one to dismiss. There might be more ways but this is the only one I know about.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

I have two questions:
1. in B2, what is a few good Steel-type moves that Lucario can learn? (he's Lv. 25)
2. I'm no good at EV knowledge, but I've been noticing one of my Pokemon's stats is in red. Is this where the EVs are?

No that means it is raised by its nature. blue means lowered by it's nature (ex: Adamant will have boosted atk owered special attack.)

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

Ahhhh. I see.
But my Mandibuzz doesn't have red or blue stats.
Another question: I was considering putting Garchomp and Espeon in my team. But I started reconsidering with my Sandlslash. So should I put Sandslash instead? But if I choose Garchomp and Espeon, then my team will have trouble against water/ground types because there are no grass types in it. But I can't get Leafeon until after beating the Hall of Fame. What should I do?

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

If it doesn't have a red of blue stat, that means it has a neutral nature that doesn't affect your stats at all.

I wouldn't really recommend a Steel-Type move on Lucario because Steel is not a good type offensively. Having a fighting move to get STAB is much better. Your best off getting a variety of different type moves on it.

Garchomp is far superior to Sandslash so I would recommend that.

If you have caught Virizion it can function well against both ground and water types. Jellicent also can defend well against those types, especially if it has Watrer Absorb.

Ok, well here's my planned team:
Samurott
Lucario
Ampharos
Garchomp
Mandibuzz
Espeon/Leafeon (Still deciding.)

Ah, thank you! Do you know the cap on the number of shops allowed, off-hand? Is it 8?
