RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Okey, I think got that problem solved. My friend code is 1120 5458 2634, and when I got on Nintendo WIFI settings It tells me to configure my connection, will that be a problem because I can do other things in the game that require Internet?

It shouldn't be a problem. If you want to make sure, go to the WiFi settings on the main screen and test your connection. If it works, great! If it doesn't...we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Let me figure out this FC stuff (where is it?) and in the mean time on Pokemon Secure where do I put in my Black FC, there isn't a place for that, it goes from D/P/Pt to HG/SS?

They went back to Zetaboards so anything B/W does not work on Zetaboards. They are working on upgrading however. I was really mad when the ditched the other forums. They were so much better XD but I have found a few things better on this board. They just need to widen the forums XD.:)

EDIT: Guys bottom floor of any Pokecenter or top floor in B/W. Talk to the Wi-Fi girl or in 4th gen it is the info lady. They will give you your pal pad after you get past the first gym or enter the first city for the first time. Then from there attempt to go on Wi-Fi and you will be given your Friend code or FC for short. After that you give your friends that code to register and they give you their code(s) From there you can do anything Wi-Fi after you go on Wi-Fi anyway. Note you have to have your DS configured to your Wireless router before you can do anything.:)

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

If you can get online and obtain a Friend Code, then it means the system can properly go online with your network. Any problems afterwards is just bad configuration, technical issues on the ISP, or incompatible equipment.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

With the ability to breed Dream World Abilities, can you breed normal abilities to Pokemon? (I.E Pokemon bred by a female with 2 normal abilites, like Poliwag with Damp or Water Absorb.) I'm kind of not sure on this. I'm sure it's just a rumor.

Yes, I believe that you can. If I'm right, the number of possible Abilities for that one Pokémon is divided by one (Ex. 3 Possible Abilities = 0.333...), and the number that you get is the chance for every time you breed a Pokémon and get the Ability that you want. Hope I helped! =D

The chances of any ability being passed down is 1:2.5 (40%). No matter what ability the female has, Dream World or not, there is a 40% chance of the ability being passed down.

If you give the female an Everstone, the ability is guaranteed to be passed down.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

...Everstone passes the ability down, not the nature. It has no effect on ability.

If the female used in breeding has the hidden (DW) ability, there is a 60% chance that the baby will have the DW ability, and a 40% chance that it'll have one of its normal abilities.

The hell did I just read.

Since, I can assume what you meant, yes I made a mistake. Everstone has a 50% chance to pass down the nature. Sorry if I confused anyone :p

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Important question:
A few months ago (I should have asked this before, but I only felt the need to do it now), I was giving my Giratina the Griseous orb in either White or SoulSilver (I can't remember exactly which game it was, hence why I'm posting in Gen V section), and it appears that the stats weren't recalculated correctly, although I wasn't aware right away. It was only when I leveled it up that I noticed it. When that square that shows the stat increases upon leveling up appeared, it showed something like +120 in atk and sp.atk and -80 in def and sp.def**, basically meaning that Giratina-O was still battling with its Altered form stats. Then, I took the Griseous orb from Giratina and gave it again to see what would happen, and it worked fine, the stat changes were correct and it never happened again anyway.

Still, is this something I should worry about?

** [Note: the numbers are not exact, it's just to show that the offense increased a lot and the defenses actually dropped in value. It was around level 80, btw]

I've actually heard about something like this before. No one seems to know why this happens, and it's hard to reproduce since it happens so rarely and randomly. But from what I do know, it doesn't cause any issues in your game, and should never happen again. You should be fine.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Has anyone ever been robbed of time in the Dream World? I was playing in the DW as I usually do then it said I was logged out of the Dream World when in fact I was still logged in after I reloaded the page and everything. So I logged out logged back in an then it says I have 23 hours before I can go into the DW again. There was still 10-15 minutes before my hour was up for the day. What in the world is going on? They better have this fixed when they added B/W 2 as this is a major glitch that I was unaware of. They need to patch all glitches as all that time that I could have been in there was not even used up as I was only in there for about 45 minutes.:(

You probably miscalculated your time. I've had the Dream World let me stay even longer than an hour sometimes due to my computer lagging pretty badly.

And you expect them to fix every single glitch in the course of just a few months? The amount of time it takes to fix just one glitch can be a few months.

I've had this happened to me before, and I know why this is the case.

If you use the "Move Items" command in your PC in a Gen-4 game (Plat and up) to give Giratina the Griseous Orb, Giratina will change form but its stats will NOT be recalculated. They'll be recalculated if you level up Giratina, though.

This won't happen if Giratina is in your party and you equip the Griseous Orb through your Bag (and see the little shadow animation). When that happens, the stats do get recalculated. (The same thing happens when you dequip the Griseous Orb.)

It's nothing to worry about really; it's just something small that got missed and is easily fixable.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

Unburden is a hidden boost, just like Rivalry. It doesn't say it's active, but it is.

RE: The B/W Questions and Answers Thread

I wish Intimidate would lower stats at the same time in doubles. It would save time.

I got in the DW at 9:20 PM my time last night and It locked me out at 10:06 PM That is only 46 minutes. I check my watch frequently to see what time it is when I start and check it every few minutes to see how much time I have left. I hope this one is fixed when they upload B/W 2 in June. This one is a bad one XD.:)

OH. So that means it still gives you 2x Speed after an item is used, but it doesn't actually say "(Insert Pokemon)'s Speed rose sharply."
