How would Ninetales help E/S Legend at all? I mean, it discards Fire Energy for some draw power but that's about it...

All I've been doing at league lately is trading for cards for use when HGSS comes out (or just for my collection), playing with Cherrim, and talking about the HGSS metagame. Only problem is at my league there are only about three seniors including me who actually consider the metagame, and one of them (being jirachinick) doesn't often show up. It won't help knowing what masters are gonna use. I'll just wait. See what everybody wants at the prerelease. Gather information and use what's right...

Exactly. My bro thought it would be good for it so I teched in 2-2 ninetails and 4 fire energy and it sucked. But without it it was pretty good.

Almost everyone else on the beach has someone that goes on this site at their league, its annoying cuz im in canada so its not likely for one to be.

I had been going to league for a month or two at first and then one day jirachinick said "hey does anyone have a pokebeach account" because he had just amde one so we talked and I found him on here. Then when I'd been going to league about half a year our league leader got an account (he used to just look around without an account.)

The best combo by far with Entei/Suicune Legend is Feraligatr HG/SS. 100 damage to any of your opponent's Pokemon each turn. Due to the loss of an "you can't use this attack next turn" clause, you'll be sniping 100s around the board each and every turn. By far the most broken combo with any of the new Legends.

yeah, he put it with gatr and ninetails which i soon removed. The funny part is everyone was saying entei/suicune legend was the worst one :O

I try not to look/think about the Translations unless they are for the set that is going to be out the next tournement season so IDK what all the cards do.

But what have you guys been testing for HGSS so far? I need some Ideas.

So far I've put together Gatr and Jumpluff. They've done pretty well. I am also going to try and test with Plox, Zard, Flygon, Gyarados, and even a few SP variants. Any of those should be standard. God, the metagame is going to be huge with this new set. There are so many options it's plain crazy... but I like it. Reminds me of last states.

What are you running you Gatr with? And which variation of Flygon?

Other than Amphy and (possibly) the legends those are the only cards that i see are good mains.

I play straight Gatr with the HGSS one. The one that spreads 20s to the board. It's got nice synergy with Great Gatr. I also have a variation with Lumineon MT, which, actually, is starting to look pretty beast. I am also considering a Smeargle over the Tomb starter. I have Flytrap and FlyPhan built. Both of which are doing pretty well.

Jumpluff has still been doing very well for me. I can get a T2 setup most of the time, if not T3 (rarely T4.) The damage is nice, and with the techs I'm running (Nidoqueen is one of them) Jumpluff can do well and last a while.

Honestly I don't bother testing decks until the set is actually out because I can't test against today's meta, I gotta test against the new meta.

RE: The Storms ~ This format is ours! *Always accepting members* *New discussion topic!*

just use redshark and use replacements. I always replace Pokemon communicator with pokemon center and use communicator's effect because its not in redshark.

Or just use proxys :p

RE: The Storms ~ This format is ours! *Always accepting members* *New discussion topic!*

^That's what I do as well (proxys). Just print out pics. of the new HGSS cards and get the translations.

And, knowing what cards that I proxied, I try to get them at the prerelease.

RE: The Storms ~ This format is ours! *Always accepting members*

I just built the deck I might play for states earlier. Haven't updated it with cards from HGSS though. I, like Meaty, tend to wait 'til the cards are actually out.

RE: The Storms ~ This format is ours! *Always accepting members*

Yeah. You can print out the cards of course and test but chances are you won't get to test against something that will be used at the event following teh set's release.

RE: The Storms ~ This format is ours! *Always accepting members*

It's still a good idea to quickly find out some problems and possible additions to the deck. Like, I found out against playing FlyChamp that my deck needed more Pokedex Handy, so I just added it. And then when the set does come out, you make changes to deal with the actual meta.

RE: The Storms ~ This format is ours! *Always accepting members*

That´s true ^^ I always look at the new cards and test decks that can possibly do well in the new format to see if they actually do well and to find general problems with the deck (not metagame problems, but consistency ones). IMO, it´s better to be prepared for the new cards and to have an idea of what to expect (and how your deck will work in the new metagame). IE, I´ve been testing a Glaceon deck w/ DCE (seems that I like Power Lock decks), but I found that it doesn´t do very well against Dialga G nor Flygon decks in general. Dialga G match-up can be solved by running Flareon or using Speed Dive (with E-Belt) to 2HKO it (and hope he doesn´t OHKO me before because of weakness). The idea is that I can test beforehand and know how to work against bad match-ups (or how to tech if the bad match-up is popular). Also, if you like the deck you tested, you´ll be already familiarized with it.
