RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

Oh OK. Drohn just had to spell it out for me, and I will do the same for others so I get to try out these shiny new gifs PMJ linked me! First, let's take a look at your claimed Role PM.

Jean Sylvain Bailly [grantm1999]
Initially President of the 3rd Estate you administered the original Tennis Court Oaths. Now you’ve taken up a different position, mayor of Paris – but it doesn’t seem that you have much control of the town.

Ability: The View from the Mayor’s Mansion.
Each night you may PM the name of one player. You will learn who they came into contact with that night. (Who they targeted and who targeted them.)

Ability: Get Out the Vote!
Each night you may PM me the name of a player. If that player votes for you to be lynched your first ability will be doubled the next night. This ability may only be activated twice.

Win Condition: Town Wins

This is a standard, well-written Role PM, correct?

Wrong. You see, what grant claims to be able to do here is to find out who a person targets and who targets them in a night. This is a fairly common role in Werewolf. However, if I may present a second piece of evidence:

grantm1999 said:
These were all the ones I could find, they don't have much detail. These are all seperate PMs, the messages directly copy/pasted.

Camoclone visited and inspected Luispipe8.

Athena visited and met with Machamp the Champion, WanderingWolf, and GM Draclord.

Your attempt to view Celever failed.

Your attempt to target Drohn failed.

grant clearly states here that these statements are copy/pasted from our host word for word. However, there is a direct contradiction!
edgeworth-objection.gif

The defendant clearly states his results word for word. However, if you look in his second result it says: "Camoclone visited and inspected Luispipe8." Nowhere in his acclaimed Role PM does grant claim to be able to know what action his targets use.
edgeworth-shrug.gif

I find it impossible for the defendant to refute these claims, but go on, humour me.

I know that I'm against ending the day early, and I generally am, but with an all-but-confirmed lynch target I can't see an awful lot of discussion happening, especially given the overall activity of this game so far. I wouldn't be opposed to ending it now in favour of not wasting time, but it really depends on whether we get another substantial thing to talk about. We've exhausted the flavour, and more lynch targets will be able to evade any and all pressure since they won't actually be put under huge amounts of pressure because of grant's presence lol. I know that I originally suggested not ending the day early, but at that stage this HUGE contradiction wasn't existant!

Ice Espeon, I left briefly to turn my computer on so that I could use this gifs and format the post better, since you can't even link the gifs on an iPad...

LOL YOU ACTUALLY PASTED TIMESTAMPS.

Ok, number one: don't link timestamps. They are inconclusive as evidence because you can leave this place open all day (like I do sometimes) but still read around on another device if you really were scared of people checking your profile.

Number two: Grant did post below stating that he had to go after your original post. At minute 31, in fact, the same time as in your post there. Coincidence? No! Of course not! He had to leave!

Number three: Time to type up a post means nothing. This is for two reasons: A) You don't always start typing a post and then keep typing it until you finish it. You can stop and take a break, get distracted, or simply have to go for an undetermined amount of time. Or just type up increasingly long post like I apparently do lol. B) Someone can just be unkeyboardinated (it's a real term o3o) and take a while to type up posts. I'm not, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist where I can, so I tend to go through an check for grammar errors when I'm on my computer. When I'm on my iPad I cba because I always end up tapping on things I don't mean to and messing everything up lol. There are other reasons too, but this should be enough to convince you that checking time stamps is pointless.

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

Ok, I agree it was a step too far to do timestamps, but...

It does not usually take them this long to reply.

Just noticed your comment at the end here. What do you mean I usually don't take under 3 minutes to post? That's roughly the amount of time you gave me since opening up the thread and actually posting that short post. Seriously, do you know these time stamps works? The @ 01:39 there is showing that I had a new change in threads at that minute, since it only updates then. The time when you As such, my 3 minute difference you have there is absolutely stupid to try and expect me to have posted in. (I am looking at the minutes on grant's local time for the time you started posting, since there is actually a 3 minute difference there, too lol). Basically, looking at time stamps on both of us was so incredibly flawed you do not even know. I almost want to lynch you just for that, but I'll let you off...

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

Oh, ninja'd. Sorry for the rant above since you acknowledged it! :s

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

I mentioned the fact he said "inspected" ages ago and you ignored it and continued to defend grant. Now all of the sudden you make a huge post about something I pointed out to you many posts ago and claim this is why you change your vote? x.x Seriously what's up with that? Seems like you're trying to avoid looking suspicious now, but I think it's too late for that. Celever, I want you to post your role, lol. I don't trust you.

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

I saw you were looking at this thread after I posted, so if you wait too long with posting your role it will look TOO suspicious. Add that to:

- Jumping the bandwagon on Luis for no reason
- Jumping the bandwagon on alex for no reason
- Defending SF strongly and accusing alex, despite saying the situations are completely similar
- Defending grant now
- Stopping to defend grant for something that was pointed out ages ago when you realise nobody is buying it

I'm all for lynching grant today, but Celever should post his role soon and be looked in to. Is this why you suddenly want the day to end fast?

Ehhhh, what's the harm. I mean seriously.

Béatrice Astor [Celever]
Growing up on the streets you were very happy when you met a nice man who was new to Paris, Franz Astor. Your love with him has helped you forget of your hardships and endure through the revolution and poverty.

Passive Effect: Love
You will be able to talk freely with your beautiful husband, Franz Astor, this link will be sent to you in a separate PM.

Win Condition: Town Wins

OK, so I can prove this Role PM quite easily. Not only is what I said previously about me not "fighting in the revolution" true, it also shares the same role name. Still not convinced? Well, I have three more pieces of evidence. First and foremost, I tried to disprove the idea that the newspaper is a possible mason group. That is because I am in a mason pair. While mason groups and mason pairs can both feature in the same game healthily, it doesn't seem like that would work very well in this particular setup, looking at the roles already outed.

My other two pieces of evidence are not connected to my actions. First of all my main piece of evidence is my partner. He is Electimortar. Yeah, that guy you didn't know was playing. OK, yes, I know, convenient, but in this particular instance his inactivity has come to good use. Notice before where TheGuy posted little lists of the inactives? Notice who's not on there, despite never having posted in this thread (at least I didn't find any posts by him when I checked just now)? Electimortar. Why? Well, TheGuy made a tiny mistake. Electimortar posted in our mason chat once. TheGuy must have noted this down as activity and not included him on the inactives list, thinking nothing of it. So, what was his post in the quicktopic?

"I am here! Sorry Celever, I'm new to all these changes to werewolf so I'm slowly learning the ropes"

He is, evidently, not actually here. Anyway, that is the extent of his post.

So, now that I'm confotown...

Oh, time stamps again. Drohn, I hope I have provided sufficient evidence and evidence that was outside of my control to create at the time to prove this role and my claim. Sorry it took a while, like I mentioned above I just wanted to double-check the fact that Electimortar never posted in this thread.

I also legitimately missed the contradiction until you spelled it out for me. It has to be noted, though, that you actually only mentioned it once before I noticed it and it was because I read it a a mistake where you got words mixed up since that was the logical reaction for me, IDK why. I tend to make odd connections; sometimes its helpful, but it usually isn't! :p

You're right with that list though, my play has been shit this game so far lol.

OH NO NO NO DIDN'T MEAN TO SWEAR.

Sorry ;___;

(you need to get a filter on the S word though lol)

Night 0) What reason would there be for Camoclone, an experienced player, to target a player who is new to the game on night one? Surely he would target someone who he knew was a good player instead of wasting it on someone inexperienced (no offence Luispipe). This idea of Camoclone's insistence on Luispipe was first brought forward by Kecleon X inbetween the two nights, guaranteeing that it would be read by everyone and result in an easy claim later down the line (something which has been emphasised by Kecleon X quoting himself). Was it an honest mistake by Kecleon X to post during the night? Maybe, but if grantm1999 flips scum, maybe not.

Yeah, sorry about posting in the night. I honestly forgot that the night wasn't over -- the title had been, if I recall correctly, stating the fact that it was daytime. *shrug*

It's a PG13 site, we can say that word.

Also, seems legit. Still a bit suspicious of you, but not that much. It makes sense you needed some time for that wall of text. xD

I did bring it up multiple times, just scroll back. You might have missed it.

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

Never mind. I did say it twice, but you didn't reply to it in between those times so it counts as once.

Post: #725 | RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Night 2 Ends August 9th
That was the title of the thread when you posted, Kecleon. :p You can see it at the top of every post.

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

As sad as I'll be to see Celever go now that he's started using Ace Attourney gifs in his posts, I'd like to see him go tomorrow. He's been attempting to defend grant as much as he can while still appearing neutral in the situation, but even he's seen that it's not working as he's hopped on the scum bus in hot pursuit of the bandwagon.

Also,

Yes, my two votes this game, one RVS vote for Reinforce and one for you certainly fall into the category of OMGUS votes. Come back and try again once you've got a real case. :p

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

Does anyone think there's a possibility Celever and Electimortar are two of the remaining wolves? Grant most likely is and after SF, PMJ, and Grant there can't be that many wolves left.. Maybe he's trying to convince us he's in a mason with another wolf as a desperate attempt to not seem wolf-like. Hmmmmm.... I take back the seems legit. I don't know right now.

Do we know for a fact how many wolves there are this game? 5 makes sense to be honest. I don't think Celever would out his scum buddy like that, even if he was inactive.

It's common for there to be a two man mason-group where one of the people is town while the other is scum. This happened to be in one of my first WW games and I didn't see it coming at all. My buddy that I made it through to almost the end of the game with ended up stabbing me in the back as scum. So it's possible Celever or Electimortar are scum, but both is unlikely. Celever seems like the way more obvious possibility.

The role also seems very vanilla, and either something is hidden or it really is just a very basic role. I thought I remembered TheGuy saying something about it being a game with a lot of powerful roles and no vanilla townies, but I could be wrong. It just seems extremely lacking.

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

His role does say his lover is new to Paris, could be a hint to a foreigner/invader?

I didn't really have to but a simple google search reveals that Franz is indeed a German name, and The Invaders are German...this could actually be a legitimate lead.

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

I've probably been ninja'd 5 times before I make this post because I have crappy internet and haven't refreshed this page for 30 minutes. However I still think we should lynch grant because it gives us just so much information, we will easily get at least 1 wolf from this. If grant flips scum we'll lynch Celever. If grant flips town we'll lynch Luis. Sorry for the lack of reasoning I can only use my phone for like the next week because I have no internet, but you guys should know the reasoning.

Really? That's nice to know. Weird though, here in Britain that's one of the common ones kids aren't meant to know until they're a lot older. Like until it gets into really racist or w/e territory.

I will still try not to use it an awful lot though, since some people could not like it or find it distasteful or w/e.

Also why do you want to see me die TT? D: I know that I haven't played too well, but I tend to not early on in the game. I have to say this every game I play in, too! I do pretty good middle-late game, though. I have also claimed, and you can't really build a case against it. It's fine to cast a bit of suspicion, but a lynch on me is ludicrous until you are able to actually disprove my role claim. That's like rule #1 of a town game! :(

Drohn, that idea is brought up every game with masons in it to get a reaction. I will keep this simple: You know I have experience with werewolf, even if my play thus far hasn't really shown it. You will also know that I do not make stupid mistakes regarding my role's survivability if you think for a moment, however. What did I do in the Member's Revolt where I was Doctor? Fly straight through to late game (but I did also protect a mafia member every night except for when I protected myself. That night also turned the game around though and made use win so... I did good! :D). This game I was planning on staying low and influencing the lynches and stuff with the occasionaly backing up of my mason partner; you know, just a little bit of buddying here and there, and hopefully not a lot of suspicion. Then my partner ended up inactive and I went on more of a "what the hell let's do all the activity and play it well!" I managed half of my quoted goal. Can you tell which? :p

Anyway, my point is, is that if I were scum I would play with good cum endurance! I would not throw my inactive under-the-radar partner under the bus and straight-up buddy two others! I have experience to know that scum posing as masons always fails!

Lenny, while I understand that mason groups of different alignments exist, I can confidently state that they are not common. At least not on any site I've ever played on, lol. I only recall running into that situation in one game, and I wasn't one of the masons! :(

Masons are powerful if they are active, so I don't think much more is needed for the role really. It'd be nice though... It'd be really nice....

I must admit that I also searched Astor a while ago to discover it German. Franz is also German, and he is new to Paris. However, I deigned to post the theory because I realized it was untrue. Why? My surname is also Astor. Therefore, I would be a supporter of the foreigners and would most likely be included on their team... Besides, the invaders are of a certain political German party IIRC. Just on iPad right at this moment so I can't check. I think that we are living together on the streets, too. Nit very fitting for an invader! I just don't think the lead holds quite as much weight as one would first think.

RE: Werewolf XXII: The Reign of Terror - Day 3 Ends August 16th

I say we lynch grant today and Electimortar tomorrow. I don't think the above is a coincidence. Definitely grant today, though.

Celever, I think you just took your husband's surname. You might not be aligned with them.
