What Can Be Done to Improve PokeBeach Forums?

Is there a way to know if people are really online or just have pokebeach open because is says online, but they don't reply for days

If people do not have any activity for thirty minutes they are no longer listed as online; however, in your case the people most likely were inactive yet were still listed as active due to the thirty minute period.

Maybe PokeBeach Academy.
The training program can focus on newer people like me on the TCG or the VCG and help them move to the next level.

I was also getting this message. Presumably, someone was tweaking with the coding at the time.

I'm gonna throw an idea in here.

Is there the possibility of having another Community Skype chat? I missed out on the last one, but it sounded like it was fun and I was told that there would be more. I think the first one was in November/December.

I don't know exactly what Shining Raikou's plans are regarding this, but I am available to skype most of the day if there is something you would like to discuss. I think it would be good if we could have one once a month though.

I'd enjoy it as well.

Perhaps we could have separate meetings for the different branches? That way things would be more focused, and wouldn't be as hectic.

If we were to do that, we'd need a day that works well for Celebi23 for TCG and a day that works good for Pride and I for VG. CMP will have to figure out what works best for him.

I've noticed that the forum is really hard to navigate now. This is probably because the forums homepage automatically redirects to the portal, which has no navigation system. My friend and I are trying to find the Trading corner rules to get started and we actually can't with the current lack of a navigation system.
If you guys could add one, even if it was just a link to the forum navigation system on the horsea bar (haha), that'd be awesome.

Thanks. :)

If you get sent to the portal (or anywhere on Pb, actually) you can click on the word Pb on the top left of the screen and that will bring you to the front page of the forums. From there, just scroll down until you find the section you want. Also, if you know something about what you are looking for, you can go to the Pb front page and type in some keywords, and it'll provide a search of the forums for stuff that matches those key words. I hope I understood the question correctly.

In the future, ask this sort of question in the Simple Forum Questions thread.

Thanks!

There will be another community Skype chat soon. :) Details will be in the portal.

On other forums I've been to, you can change the skin of forum. I think that maybe this should be an option here. Maybe the older Pokebeach skin could be an option.

We have had 2 skin choices in the past, but they were ditched in favor of the greatly improved skin/layout that we have now. (Seriously, the old ones were depressing.) We might explore doing more skins in the future, but it takes a lot of time to get everything perfect. It would be great if someone that knows how to do such a thing would step up and create some new skins and take community feedback into account, but they would have to spend a lot of time on it in order for it to get used. WPM is really particular about what gets used and what doesn't. Unfortunately this isn't a priority right now, so if you guys want skins we need to find someone willing to make them!

Simple, make it as easy to have Pokemon Wi-Fi Battles on these forums like on Serebii.net. Instead we have a thread here called the "Master Wi-Fi Thread" where people post on there to trade ONLY, NEVER to battle. This is why I hardly ask for Wi-Fi Battles here on PokeBeach cause what's the point of trading Pokemon If you can't even battle? That's like If Pokemon was made to be like Tamagotchi or something... >_>

Another thing to improve the PokeBeach forums is by improving this site up to the standards of other sites like http://google.com/, PokeGym, and HeyTrainer.org. When people think of PokeBeach nowadays they only think of info we get from Japan and scans to keep us aware of what's to hit in the U.S. and abroad. Serebii.net does that as well yet they are more in tune with the Anime/Manga and Video Game series while Beach is more to the TCG side of things.
