XY What Type might Sylveon be?

RE: What Type might Ninfia (Sylveon) be??

I believe that it's going to be a female normal evolution. It kinda makes sense to me. The only way to make it even more interesting on the whole 'Eevee's regular (normal) form' would be to make it a little strange, pleasing both parties. I mean, both the guys and the girls like to use Eevee and its other forms, so why put out one that's extremely feminine without one that's rather masculine as its counterpart? Eevee already has the whole time-based evolution (Espeon and Umbreon), so why not a gender-based one as well?

RE: What Type might Ninfia (Sylveon) be??

gender evolution is a void statement. The gender has nothing to do with the actual event of evolution.

"Oh its female -> starts evolving"

it can be a requirement, but not the cause.

But regardless, I don't see how that would benefit anyone. Remember, Eevee has a 12.5% female rate, so it would just be extra annoying and not much more.

Its a limiting thing not an improvement.

And there is tons of feminine looking pokemon who are not female-only. Heck Sylveon doesn't even look THAT much more feminine than some of the other eeveelutions to begin with, and those are mostly male.

RE: What Type might Ninfia (Sylveon) be??

If it were to have a female only evolution, it would also have a male counterpart. Which makes me wonder could they be holding out on us as far as other eeveelutions. Not necessarily the male/female thing, but eeveelutions usually come in pairs. Espeon Umbreon, Leafeon Glaceon. If Sylveon is just a colorless type, then I could see it being just one new eeveelution, and if there was another eeveelution, they probably would have revealed it with Sylveon, but not necessarily.

RE: What Type might Ninfia (Sylveon) be??

They usually come in pairs... they're usually revealed in pairs too.

There is not a single USUAL thing about Sylveon.

I seriously doubt we are getting more than this one. They would have revealed them simultaneously including in all the pikachu short stuff which is all about eeveelutions.

Except for the fact that there is no such type in the pokemon universe post gen V.

Why must people ruin jokes by explaining something obvious even though that's the point of the joke? Really, I don't understand the need in people to state facts to try to prove a joke wrong. That's the joke. Loosen up, seriously. It makes you look so condescending, like no one else in the world could possibly know that fact you know.

Just like when he said that Gender Evolution is a void statement, It's pretty obvious what he meant...

I have no way of determining the intention of a post which merely has a link.

The joke isn't funny after seeing it 5 times, so I had the impression quite some people actually take it serious, hence pointing out the fallacy.

I'm sorry, I should've pointed out that it was a joke.

And I had even already pointed out a second one likely would have already been revealed at the end of my post.

Speaking of elements, if Sylveon were to have a new type, this is what it would be:

Silveon
images

There is actually some truth to that, that type could associate with life type or even a cosmic type
Silicon is present in the sun and stars and is a principal component of a class of meteorites known as aerolites. Silicon makes up 25.7% of the earth's crust by weight, and is the second most abundant element, exceeded only by oxygen. It is found largely as silicon oxides such as sand (silica), quartz, rock crystal, amethyst, agate, flint, jasper and opal. Silicon is found also in minerals such as asbestos, feldspar, clay and mica.

Silicon is important in plant and animal life. Diatoms in both fresh and salt water extract silica from the water to use as a component of their cell walls. Silicon is an important ingredient in steel. Silicon carbide is one of the most important abrasives. Workers in environments where silicaceous dust is breathed may develop a serious lung disease known as silicosis.

2nd most abundant element? So what, did they leave Hydrogen, Neon, Carbon, Helium and Nitrogen out of that list?

Edit: Sorry, that was unclear. You meant in Earth's crust.

plus not my quote it was from a site

RE: What Type might Ninfia (Sylveon) be??

At least, Frying type would explain those fleshy bows...

Also, there are red, blue and green skydivers - RSE remakes confirmed!

RE: What Type might Ninfia (Sylveon) be??

Back on topic guys. What type might Sylveon be? And why? Consider what we know about it. (colors, bows, it's super light weight, etc.)

RE: What Type might Ninfia (Sylveon) be??

Looks like Eevee, Skyla and Milotic had a rough night.

But seriously, am I only one who thinks it resembles a Heart Scale? The bows, the colors? Doubt there will be a Light type coming, and it's definitely not Rock, Ground, Ghost, Steel, Fighting or Poison. Flying? Possibly, although wings would make more sense, and if this is flying, it's pretty disappointing. Bug? People keep mentioning the 'butterfly-like' bows, but I also highly doubt it. You'd expect something with pincers and big bug eyes. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Normal or Dragon, although Eevee is normal, and a more Dragon-like Dragon would be better. But again, what do I know? Method of evolving? Beats me. Will they bring back the rocks, or use maybe a Shiny or Dawn stone? What if you gave Eevee a Heart Scale? Could that be it?

loljks i hav no idea halp me

RE: What Type might Ninfia (Sylveon) be??

Did this thread disappear for a while or something? I swear I couldn't find it yesterday for the life of me o_O

Wanted to post this here but went to the name revelation type in the news section then:

Anyhow, the thing is, there is no evidence for anything and we've already heard every silly argument that anyone could come up with from the poor info we have.

They should stop making a fuss about it and reveal the damn type, before someone finds a hidden pattern that "obviously" points to it being Steel type or something lol.

@one:
they seem to avoid inconsistent evolution methods - in other words, new evolutions for old pokemon use a new evolution method

EDIT:
has anyone yet mentioned the NORMAL MOVE ENCHANCING ITEM from gen II?

It was called Pink Bow.

Now imagine this.
They bring back the Pink Bow, but as is Sylveons
DragonScale/MetalCoat/KingsRock/UpGrade/Electrizer/Magmarizer/ReaperCloth/PrismScale/OminousDisc/Protector.

It just makes so much sense to me right now o___o
The pink bow is even featured in the pikachu short title.

Would it have to be traded to level up? Cause the items listed are all trade to level up if I'm not mistaken...

well in both gens that gave us a bunch of evos, plenty of those were classic pokes evolving via trade & their unique item.. so I don't see a problem with an eeveelution joining this category, since each round of eeveelutions does its own thing anyway.
They even changed Feebas' beauty evo to this via the item Prism Scale.

But thinking about it...
It could of course by the same logic be just Lv.Up with Pink Bow, after all Sneasle and Gligar do just that with RazorFang/RazorClaw.

Maybe that's even the more likely option since trading sounds too separating for something over-cute and fashionable as Sylveon :S

So yes, I place my bet for now on
Lv.Up while holding Pink Bow
