BW/BW2 What type should the 3rd mascot be?

If it is another Dragon type then that will kind of defeat the point of Dialga, Palkia and Giratina being the Dragon Trio... or you could just have another Dragon Trio and it will be Dragon/Ground.... Dragon/Ice will make it a lot more powerful against other dragon types and will probably make it weaker to Reshiram

How about just ice or ground? They have too many dragon Legendaries..

Well if you think about it this way, it probably will follow suit of Reshiram Zekrom. It's basically a given that the third mascot will be dragon.

I don't think there'll be a third mascot. There wasn't one in every generation, you know.

There will be a third mascot.
The third game has always had a third mascot.
Pikachu, Suicune, Rayquaza, and Giratina.

And they've been having a third counterpart to the original 2 mascots since Gen 3.
So, it's cannon.

Ground/Dragon, as I can imagine it being an internal trio master like Rayquaza, so it would be super-effective against both Reshiram and Zekrom.

What? Yellow was strictly inspired because of the anime--none of this counterpart nonesense. And Suicune? Suicune completed the LEGENDARY BEAST trio, having nothing to do the other mascots (well, not Lugia, anyway, and it certainly didn't tie them together).

Rayquaza and Giratina definitely fit the mold, though.

EDIT: I'm typing on a Wii Opera browser, so please excuse the rough grammar.

Yes, I understand what you're saying, but Suicune and Pikachu were still the MASCOTS for those games, being on the boxart of the games.

You'd said THAT, so I would assume you think there will be another Dragon to go along with Reshiram and Zekrom. And I wasn't debating the Verity of Pikachu and Suicune being mascots. I'm still not. I was just arguing that the mascot for this game doesn't have to be a Dragon counterpart because of canon which I hardly find to resemble precedent.

As a side note, I think the proprietors of Pokemon have made it clear that they're aiming for a serious serious series reboot this generation.

That being said, I think the third mascot could be a Pokemon that gets a lot of attention in the anime, like Kibago. IDK, just throwing ideas around.

As another sidenote, your avatar is awesome, SinnohTrainer.

pikachu and suicune were mascots that played an important role and where on the boxart. im thinking the new legend will be part dragon. what if reshiram was also part of a seperate trio and the same for zekrom and the unknown counterpart.

You sir, have just failed. Pikachu, as everybody hopefully knows isn't the 3rd mascot of the 1st generation. It was Blastoise, yes people Blastoise. First were Red and Green released. After their release Nintendo released Blue as a third version. Yellow was made later as a bonus edition, it had not much to do with Red, Green and Blue.

That is true. However, I just couldn't see anything else going alongside Reshiram/Zekrom. Honestly, I have no clue why :3
As long as it's a legendary, I'm cool ^_^

And, thanks! :D

Sounds like G/S/C. With Ho-oh and the legendary beasts and Lugia and the legendary birds. I could see that.

Yeah, it's definitely a possibility. It still bothered me that Suicune was on the Crystal boxart, for some reason. It was just...odd O_O
Understanding that it was important to parts of the story, it was weird seeing the legendary bird duo, and then one of the legendary beasts. It was odd.

ya thats what i mean. just like the regis got regigigas and what you said. or now that i think about it, what about 3 duos (one for each) and thats the end of the legends with a total of 10 (maybe a few more)?

That could make it so that version exclusives Pokemon are made of mostly legends, which I would prefer. Very cool.

I feel like i veered us slightly off-topic though... If there's a trio, it should have a Dragon/Ice typing.

whoops sorry. i thought did have something to do with topic though.
anyways id like ground now. wtr would make zekrom dominant and ice would make reshiram dominant in terms of extra types. itd only work out for the birds becaise fir beat ice, which beat flying (zapdos) and elc beats flying (moltres).

I think you kinda failed too. That is correct in Japan, but in the west there's only Red, Blue & Yellow and everybody considers Yellow as being the 3rd version...

btw, did anyone at least read my last post in this thread?
You're kinda discussing now what I said earlier...
