5th Gen Competitive Movesets and Metagame

...I'm stuck with it. I got a good IV spread in-game and did not feel like going through and re-catching Victini. Haha, advice?

Victini @ Life Orb
-- Victory Star.
Nature: Mild
EVs: 108 HP / 200 Atk / 200 SAtk
-Thunderbolt
-Fire Blast
-Brick Break
-Zen Headbutt

Might not be the best one in the world, but this is the best I could think of off the top of my head :/ not really sure what Victini you want, so I just tried a mixed attacker.

I agree with the situational part. Reuniclus looks good, but beware of pursuit. Gliscor always has a trick up it's sleeve, but those are two great sets. After KO'ing the certain Pokemon, their use is a bit limited, however.

Oh yeah, there's no doubt they would annoy the heck out of me. :)
Jirachi is frail, but if you're running an offensive set like that, there is no real need to bulk him up.
Reuniclus is always a beast in Trick Room teams, and could even beat the Jirachi set you posted while it was active. I'm creating a Trick Room team right now, so if anyone could post some choice sets, I'll give you an e-hug.

I am running Jellicent on my VGC team and would like to know some good double battle sets for it. A support set would be preferred.

Going Special Sweeper. Which would mean the basic 252 SAtk/252 Spd, with Specs or something.

Hmmm...

Victini @Choice Scarf
Nature: Mild
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 4 HP, 252 SAtk, 252 Spd
-Fire Blast
-Psyshock
-Grass Knot
-Focus Blast

Not really much to say about this one. Pretty much the same as a Modest set. Choice Scarf is to out speed everyone.

I have one!

For those of us who do not have dream world ninetales, here's the best sunny day lead available.
Whimsicott @ heat rock
Prankster, adamant, 252 attk, 252 spd
Sunny day,
U-turn,
Cotton gaurd,
Light screen
Obviously sunny day is top priority. With prankster, this should be easy, and if it doesn't faint on the first turn, you have a fairly powerful u-turn to back it up. However, if you feel that you will be more successful by boosting defenses, cotton gaurd is a top notch defense booster, and light screen is obviously for special. However, I would suggest using those first, to maximize the effects of sun for your sweeper. (I am not aware of any sun-using walls.)

Haven't seen one of these...

Conkeldurr @ Life Orb
Guts/Iron Fist (DW ability), Careful/Adamant Nature, 252 Atk/120 HP/136 Sp. Def
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Payback
- Stone Edge/Mach Punch

His DW ability ups the power of Drain Punch to a whopping 202.5 Base Power with Bulk Up plus he heals 1/2 of that in return, meanwhile Mach Punch becomes quite the devastating priority move However, this would only apply to Drain Punch, which is useless against Ghost. This can in which case Obviously EV's are centered on his poor Sp. Def to better even him out. Payback and Stone Edge cover weakness, but if you're more worried about speed then, mach punch can replace Stone Edge, still with a Base Power of 108 after Bulk Up.

i would like to mention the lesser used or perhaps forgotton dragon pokemon flygon. flygon may seem inferior to other dragon types due to its overall stats being genarically worse, but however it is not at all a bad pokemon and can rip teams apart if they arnt prepared for it. its got a really nice type combo meaning it doesnt have that rock weakness that so many of its fellow dragons have. but its ability is what sets it apart from its dragon ground counterpart, garchomp. garchomp has better speed and attack, and perhaps defenses too(i haven't really payed much attention to it, so i don't have its stats all memorized like i do flygon's) but theres one thing it doesnt have, and thats leviate. giving it a ground resistance from the ever common earthquake is alwawys a blessing, especially when it comes without the cost of weakensses. its also got an epic design.

flygon
life orb
jolly nature
earth quake
stone edge/rock slide
dragon claw
u turn/aerial ace/fly

ive been using this set for a while and ive had quite a bit of luck. i run the rock slide on mine since i do tend to like my moves to hit most of the time, but either would work. earthquake is for stab, making it base 150 power wich is massive on any pokemon, and it also is there for taking out like half the common metagame. dragon claw is for anything that resists the ground and also for stab. its also funny to watch a garchomp come in to you when your faster and die. it happens all the time for me. stone edge is mainley for type covoradge becasue it generally takes out what the other two don't. the last move is a filler. i would reccoment u turn, since its useful for scouting. personally i run the aerial ace, but thats only cause im too darn lazy to get off my buttox and change it. fly is like a stronger version of aerial ace, but it takes a turn, and while you do avoid enemy moves completeley, its still risky becasue they can just swich out to a counter, wich is really annoying. in all, flygon is a fanstastic pokemon and should never be underestimated

Before I start, please work on your grammar. It's so bad I didn't even fully read your post.

Flygon is really the poor man's Garchomp while Chomp is still OU. Garchomp is just so much better; he has access to Swords Dance (Flygon only has Claw Sharpen), better stats, and an equally useful ability. If you were to compare their stats, you can obviously tell which is better. Garchomp is just faster and hits much more harder than Flygon ever can. Plus, Garchomp makes a much better Revenge Killer with Choice Scarf and can actually sweep with Swords Dance. The sheer reason of why people don't use Flygon is because there are much better options. Last generation, Flygon saw a surge of usage once the faster dragons, Garchomp, Latias, and Salamence, were banished to ubers. Flygon doesn't really like being overshadowed. This generation they're all back (with a new pal; Hydregion), and the only hope for Flygon to receive any major usage is for all of those big guys to be banned. The chances of that happening are impossible.

If you're really going to consider using Flygon on a team, immediately switch it for Garchomp. Who cares if he isn't immune to Ground-type moves? Is levitate and U-turn really the reason why you should use Flygon over Chomp? No, it's not.

btw, this is the set that Flygon should use:

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Nature: Jolly
Item: Choice Scarf
Outrage
Earthquake
Stone Edge / Fire Blast
U-turn

Look, it's a slower Scarf Garchomp that doesn't hit hard enough and has U-turn. Why should you use Flygon in OU? The answer should be very obvious by now.

btw, lol at mentioning Fly on a competitive moveset. :>

Luck will get you no where competitively. Everyone expects Garchomp on a sand team, and putting Flygon on their will make no difference. Garchomp is much better than Flygon.

Thanks to the ones who posted Victini help! It's really appreciated. :)

And to go with slickmario: it's about consistency. Garchomp has always been better than Flygon.

Has anyone else used a choice band Ferrothorn?
Ferrothorn (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
- Spikes
- Bulldoze

The point of this set is to use ferrothorn's decent base attack to surprise those who think the set is a set with spikes, stealth rock, and the like. Because Ferrothorn is as fast as a speeding Slugma, Gyro Ball's base power is often near 120. Power Whip is used for more coverage, but is less accurate than gyro ball. Bulldoze is used to cover some threats such as Magnezone and Heatran. And since Ferrothorn doesn't have all that many attacking moves, Spikes can be used like on standard sets.

thanks i cant wait to use it for my hydreigon

does anybody know one for the following pokemon salamance, terrakion, haxorus, and dusknoir

Haxorus@Lum Berry
Mold Breaker
Adamant Nature
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 HP
Dragon Dance
Outrage
Earthquake
Night Slash

After a Dragon Dance your Attack soars to over 600 and your speed 439. Outrage hits anything not named Skarmory, Forretress, or Ferrathorn hard. Earthquake is helpful against many types. Night Slash is alright if you don't need to use Outrage to KO a ghost Pokemon, though it should be noted that Outrage is still stronger. Lum Berry will help cure confusion after Outrage runs its course.
