we cant dig a tunnel out we have to turn the hole into a slope it will be faster and require less actions considering it took 3 to make the hole as deep as it is now making a hole that goes diagonally will take longer

just dig upwards!

and what is that delicious smell?

*i use honey gather on salandit*

Also does anyone want to play hopscotch?

Or jump rope?

Or have an eating contest?

I especially want to do an eating contest. If only there was something to eat *sigh*

It's so hard being me...

I eat acorns and bounce around the forest clearing crazily, only barely missing everyone else's heads. This isn't an official order, just what I've generally been doing for this entire time.

Heeeeey. . . do you think there are any truffles in these woods?

Hmm ... I admit I'm interested in this machine under us. It's evidently magnetic, because the compass is going bonkers, and yet I am not stuck to the ground.

... Nope, definitely still levitating. I do believe it's getting closer, too. Odds are it'll break the surface by nightfall. Would like to note that based on that one fact there is literally zero point in y'all continuing to dig. But hey, if there are cupcakes to be had, might as well look high and low for 'em. ^.^

Trapinch:

Uh people, what if the smell is Sleep Powder to knock us out. Ok, let me just dig a little more (not really dig more like a canyon), then let me use Signal Beam so we can see if the smell is poisonous.

@Keeper of Night
I dig a canyon in the hole and then jump out, using Signal Beam on the source of the smell.

You know *scratches round head* it just occurred to me that maybe even if we keep being sent in circles
spoink-2.gif

(Well not QUITE like that but close enough)

we might want to be in the forest rather than the clearing when the machine gets to the surface. Er, assuming Jabberwock is correct and considering our goal is to "exit safely"

But what about us in the hole of despair
We have to get out before "the machine" powers up

Trapinch:

Sorry, but I will stay in the hole until I find whatever we are looking far, unless we find something of interest outside :p.
This is our best lead i think

Swablu attempts to turn back, but comes face-to-face with a shadow, which knocks her out of the air! Looking up, Swablu spots a Drifloon!
Drifloon looms over Swablu. Swablu is now in Battle!

???

@NinjaPenguin You may now use attacks to fight past the opponent, but are unable to leave battle.

@Keeper of Night I'm going to grab the compass from Pyukumuku and toss it to Bagon.
Chimchar grabs the compass and tosses it into the hole. Bagon manages to grab it. The needle inside continues to spin wildly, until it breaks!

@Keeper of Night I would like to know if I am small enough to fit in the hole, and if I can bounce high enough to get out if I fall in.
As of this post, no. Because of:

@Keeper of Night I'll jump in the hole and help Trapinch dig as deep as possible.
Shinx and Trapinch, ignoring the other two in the pit with them, continue to dig.
Shinx gets ahead of Trapinch and digs right through the other end of the hole, falling into a chasm! Trapinch tumbles after him.

They are able to raise to their feet unharmed. Above them, the hole shines light through to where they landed. However, the cave is wide, and they are unable to see the ends of it. The humming sound has picked up significantly, and in the cave they hear it as a loud banging.

@Keeper of Night
I use Dragon Claw to break the dirt on one side of the hole and dig up to make a ramp in and out of the hole
From where Bagon is standing, overlooking the second pit beneath him, he starts digging out one side of the wall back toward the surface.

@Keeper of Night
I dig a canyon in the hole and then jump out, using Signal Beam on the source of the smell.
Trapinch attempts to continue digging, but is unable. The ground beneath him is solid rock.
The smell seems to have dissipated.

In case it wasn't clear, the images I use are purely for representation. Be warned of artistic liberties.

*bounce* Well right now I am testing the plausibility of the suggestion someone made that I use my tail to help you up. In the meantime, there's always things like digging upwards.

It's too bad none of you can bounce as high as I can...

Also we know that it slowed down when I bounced around the perimeter with it, but has anyone tried taking the compass into the woods yet?

Hmm, well I made that suggestion to take the compass into the woods before I noticed that the compass has now been broken.

Trapinch:

Yo Gears, come down here, metal is affected by polarity, and the source of the polarity weirdness might be the humming. I want to see if the humming is organic or mechanical.
