bulbasnore said:Yep, both effects trigger (burn & extra damage) from discarding, say, Multi Energy. It _is_ in the FAQ, but compare the Compendium EX rulings on Dragon Burst & Ancient Mantra for precedent. Interesting that Dragon Burst was an overrule of a prior, opposite ruling.

In a Booster Draft, each player gets a certain number of packs (typically 5 or 6), and then everyone sits in a circle. Each player opens a pack, chooses one card out of the 10, and passes the remaining 9 to their neighbor. Then everyone chooses a card from the 9 that were passed to them, and passes the remaining 8. Then everyone chooses a card from the 8 and passes the remaining 7, and so on until all the cards have been taken. Then everyone opens a new pack and does it all again (usually you switch passing directions for each pack). Once all the packs are gone, each player builds a 40-card deck and participates in a tournament.
Draft is one of my favorite forms of play. You often have to make hard choices on which card to take and which to let go on down the line. It's a good test of skill in card selection. Although with pre-release Booster Drafts, I don't care much about winning -- I just take cards I didn't get in the first part of the pre-release
Of course, if you want a real challenge, try Rochester Draft sometime. But Rochester takes forever. Booster Draft goes a lot faster and is a lot easier to squeeze in at the end of something like a pre-release.

I'll be the tall, fat judge With any luck, I'll get my Professor lab coat this week, too. That should make me stand out in a crowd

Okay, consider me surprised on this one:

So apparently discarding a Multi energy gets you both effects. Not what I expected at all, but like I said, I'm not a source of official rulings I'm only right 92.3% of the time, kinda like Rush Limbaugh.
Blastoise_Trainer said:Ok thanks Chairman Kaga and that now one more question is there a place or site where i can look at all the different ways u can play at a Pre-release. Thanks.
Blastoise_Trainer said:so a limited one is when u just get 6 packs and u open them and make a deck with these and later on when u return the energy u get the other 2 extra packs right.
