I think light meant have Shiver be the name of the attack. But I am totally giving it Fake Out now that you bring up Flinching.
Anyway:

Enshroud
100% Accuracy
20 PP (max 32)
The target becomes enshrouded in a dark mist or fog that can cause Confusion. Clears the field of Hazards and Weather.

Just came up with it at 1 am. Somebody who is actually awake, make it happen.

I like the idea behind enshroud, but akwila makes a good point, damage + sure confusion would be quite nasty. 75% confusion I like more.

Let's try to not add any new status, that will probably mess things up.

Akwila, did you see keeper's pokemon? might help you to visualize it.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

Honestly only an insane person could have kept up with how the last 4 pages just played out.

If Keeper is here, I suggest we all tinfoil caps. He has been known to hack minds.

That being said I do remember something about a Chupacabra. Ice/Dark sabretooth?

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

No chupacabras, please. but yes, this was insane.

We were on the moths, last time. Shall we go on with it?

movesets? abilities? let's get lunight and stellight as working names for now, so we can stop with "light/dark moth".

Alrighty.

Can you PM me a text form of their stats and move sets so I can go over them one more time? I'm actually not feeling super well at the moment and I just want to go to bed right now.

Please and thankyou.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

Don't worry, come whenever you feel better; I'll leave them here to hear suggestions now that we're back on track after bending the curb and ending up in earth-22's albuquerque.

Raccoons and Chupacabras?

G-go on....

How would 'Shiver' be different than paralysis or flinching?

The move's name is shiver. It does 20 damage, dark type, special and 100% paralysis. Same as nuzzle.

Zigzagoon is a raccoon dog, but ok. Umm... How about a dragon-type alligator snapping turtle?

You have three things there, start with one. Alligator sounds good enough. find a twist now. dragon/water protosuchus?

I have 3 things? I was giving up on the roadkill raccoon since I realized it's too morbid so I was switching to an alligator snapping turtle. Or did you think I was saying alligator OR snapping turtle. Plus, I feel like the protosuchus dragon/water-type is too close to my currently in development Dragon/Water Baryonyx and Spinosaurus. I just think a dragon-type turtle would be really interesting.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

No light, it wasn't "damage + confusion." It was "eliminate hazards/weather + confusion."

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

Yo professorlight an alligator snapping turtle is an actual animal. I'd say it would make a pretty cool water/dragon or dragon/water.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

I've held one of those before. Nasty little boogers. They're hard to hold because the top of their shell is a bit sharp, and holding underneath can get you clawed. :/
Not to mention they're HEAVY.

I think it'd make an awesome pokemon.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

The cool thing about them is that they lure prey using their tongue and then they clamp their beak tight once prey has fallen for the trap. They are also capable of snapping someone's finger off.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

...Now there's an idea.
What if we make it huge, and give it Rock typing? Then, we can focus on its mouth opening into a "cave" that can trap people and pokemon inside?

Drawing inspiration from:
Jonah's whale
Giant cavern beast in 'Aladdin'
Giant land tortoise

But it would still be designed like the snapping turtle we already have.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

We had one of those turtles in our driveway once. Let me tell you, it was NOT fun trying to get it out.

I'd also be willing to help out a bit with this, coming up with Pokemon concepts or some of the technical stuff. Just let me know if there's anything I can do!

Honestly, for enshroud, I like the confusion better, sounds more sinister. But a weather-removing move is somethiong that hasn't been done yet, and it fits the annoying tactical aspect of dark types like a glove.

I thought you were going again with a bullfrog - bull - matador - water absorb situation. My apologies.

As for the turtle, it isn't bad, I feel it is half of something we've already been working on:

1- Shadow Claw
1- Thunder Fang
1- Fire Fang
1- Dragon Rage

7- Block
18- Dragon Breath
26- Dragon Claw
34- Dragon Dance
46- Iron Tail
53- Iron Head
74- Outrage

Event Moves:
Roar of Time

Ok here is yet another compromise.
I swear to god if professerlight yells at me again...

There is a reason why I don't allow movesets and names to me thought before the design. This turtle looks good to be a steel/dragon offensive tank, maybe even more than the kentrosaurus, but of course if you already, out of nowhere started thinking that your pokemon has something to do with blades and all that, then your design won't evolve, won't adapt, because you'll be constricted by whatever the hell you put together out of thin air.

Talk to reggie to see if he's interested in a collaboration. His concept and movepool and your design. Name's out, event moves too. the movepool will have to be revised a little, but not by much. I feel we have the same reasons to make an early game dragon snapping turtle as we have to make an early game dragon kentrosaurus.

And sure, twisted, you can join if you want. As I said, we can't use your mayfly, but you can always see if you like any of the current projects to collaborate or bring a few new ideas.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

So, let's go with it being Dragon/Rock or Rock/Dragon due to it's sturdiness and weight, as well as its fierce reptilian appearance. I'm guessing the tongue thing could become a new move called False Lure or something that lowers the target's evasiveness by 1 or 2 stages. (Not saying it's exclusive to this pokemon, since Chinchou and Lanturn could easily have such a move as well) I'm guessing from what I said, Sturdy and Solid rock are possible abilities, and maybe Rough Skin or Intimidate based off of the animal's appearance. Also judging by what I've read about the turtles, this pokemon might not have to worry about it's defenses as much and be a bit of a tank. So then, let me go make a few quick scribbles real quick to see if appearance might help with this hard biting little shelled monster.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

I think, as an early game dragon, a turtle makes much more sense then a dinosaur.
But I stand by my previous post, with the idea of it being Rock/Water, Rock/Dragon, or Rock/Ground.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

If you want to make it a rock / dragon, fine. Standalone. Watch out for the dragons, though, let's keep an eye on how many do we have.

Mmmm... maybe I'll get started in a rock/electric dilophosaurus fossil.
Or a rock / grass spinosaurus?
Rock / fire velocirraptor?

Nah, dilophosaurus.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

What was Reggie's dragon supposed to be? I forgot lol. I mean, I really like the idea of standalone counterpart non-legendary dragon-types. Especially if they're considered pseudo-legendaries.

RE: Let's Do the 7th Generation! - SIGN-UPS OPEN

They don't have enough merit to be counterparts. Reggie's dragon (He decided for kentrosaurus, I think) is in two stages, while I don't really see this turtle changing much if divided in two stages. That's why I said standalone.

As for stats and typing, reggie's will be catchable early, but it will be reasonably powerful, have an impossible type and be really hard to train (look at the evolution level and the move progression) your turtle looks like it should have medium-to-high stats right off the bat, both in defense and offense. Your turtle seems to be a druddigon type situation, while reggie's, a larvesta or pawniard situation.

I also fear that your turtle will have a lot of shared moves with reggie's dragon, which is why I said to merge them. Otherwise, you and reggie will have to reach an agreement as to which moves go to whom (say, the elemetal fangs, for example).

As for abilities, rough skin. HA: strong jaw. It's not called "snapping" because of its witty one-liners.
