Apparently we get a trophy on the 1st of february!

Nope, none at all...

We seriously are gonna get a trophy?(I should get it, as the creator of this Thread :F)

No, just kidding, I think that everybody who poste should get one. Especally Moneyking63 and me.(We posted a lot...)

Good thats how I am, and personally I think its better if no one knows!

Ya we do post the most probably! I really like threads like this! They let you see opinions of other people and what they do in their social lives!

Ya..

I was wondering Moneyking63, do you go to a Public or private school. Beacause I think that if you went to a private school or even an all boys school not as many people would care...

This is the first time I have posted on this thread!

Wow...I never thought I would come across people who feel similar on Pokemon and popularity. I do not feel so lonesome now...

First, I already have enough "oddities" to deal with. I eat well. I love math and school. I do not swear. I sometimes communicate better with teachers than other people own age. And I play Pokemon....

Pokemon is not only been a major part of my life, but a part of who I am. I have known and loved the show since it first made its debut in 1998....and the journey has been tough. There was a point and time when almost EVERYONE I knew loved Pokemon. I once checked my first grade yearbook and spotted at least one kid wearing a Pokemon shirt in every grade level! But sometime after I approached the third and fourth grades, Pokemon was just not the "thing" anymore. Children everywhere (at least in my school) picked up on Yu-Gi-Oh and started to ignore Pokemon. But I continued to love the little creatures and continued to hang out with my "dorky" little friends. I have got to admit I was obsessive. But it didn't matter much in elementary school.

Middle school was a completely different story. Although I spent my first semester of seventh grade playing Pokemon, I started to gradually feel embarrassed. Teenagers would come up to me and ask the typical question, "Do you still play Pokemon?" It was hard for me to respond - I did not want to deny the truth. At one point a couple of kids started laughing at me. Eventually, I started to tell my peers (except for my friends) that I did not play Pokemon anymore.

When I changed my eating and exercise habits, I encountered different problems. Peers (and still occasionally) teased me about "not eating junk food". And this was right on top of my reputation of being someone who genuinely loved (and still loves) school (especially math and science).

But it didn't stay that way for long (although my healthy eating and exercising habits stayed the same).

This continued into eighth grade, until I finally realized that it is okay to like Pokemon. It is okay to browse on the internet every now and then and play video games, as long as you balance everything else. I returned to Pokemon and kept a healthy life style. I do not obsess over the franchise anymore, but I still keep in touch with my inner Pokemon self. I do not tell people straight up "Pokemon is awesome!" but I am not as embarrassed about it anymore. As long as you feel confident within yourself, it won't matter whether people know about your "secret". I do not want to cave in to peer pressure. I am the leader not the follower.

I am proud to play Pokemon.

Private school, and all boys, initially you may think that but it's not true. I don't know how to explain it, but with the lack of girls, they almost have the time to nitpick at certain things. Now I have friends from my elementary school (a public school) and I don't think they would care at all (not going to risk telling them though)! One of the girls in the group is actually a big naruto person (I mean BIG fan, she wears the wrist band to school and what not! She is not ridaculed at all. There is something about an all boys school that makes it that much worse, i can't explain it. But then again I don't go to a public middle school so I can't completely compare. But I could see how one would think it would be better, no girls to impress ect. Like I said I can't explain it exactly, but its certainly not better!

Flamewheel i just read what you posted and I am glad that you have that! I no about your friend nagasaki and thats good you have a poke liking friend. And it's a good that you have that! It seems that you aren't ridiculed either! awesome!

Same with me, the poke trend ended in probably 3rd grade? then it was yu-gi-oh, now I followed the trend and it wasn't to a year ago when i got back into it. Thinking about it I dont know why. But Im glad I did, I don't know what I would do without pokemon! It actually I think made me healthier (WHAAA?)

Well my parents didn't know i like pokemon till a few days ago. When I would want a pack of cards (twice a week maybe, when walgreens was in stock of course?) I would take about a 2 mile bike ride to get there. Ride maybe 3 times a week (not always buying, I dont spend that much on it!) I still eat junk food but I do alot more exercising!

And don't worry about your habits flamewheel! They will pay off later in life!

Yes...I hated Yu-Gi-Oh when it came out just for the fact that it took over Pokemon. I still don't like it. People thought I was weird, and I certainly didn't care! ^_^

It is hard to believe you didn't tell your parents about your love of Pokemon. My mom has known since day one. My teachers too. I was the kid who shouted "Pikachu!" in the middle of my kindergarten classroom (now you know why I called myself obsessive). We even named the class ducks (literally, ducks) after Psyduck. I am not kidding on this either!

As for the healthy eating, I sometimes get irritated when people tease me about it. But it doesn't matter too much. I love taking care of myself and providing myself with a future I can be proud of.

You traveled three miles to obtain Pokemon cards? Wow! It would have been better to let your parents know. It is great exercise though!

Well I rode my bike rather quickly so it was only around a 20 minute ride! Lol I kinda know what you mean, I was that kid in kindergard through 2nd grade. In 2nd grade we hatched these chicks, I named mine Typhosion:p! Of course no one cared then!

As for eating thats great! It will pay off. I get teased about my eating to, I'm really pick and don't eat a ton of meat (all i really eat in the meat department is Chicken and some sausage) but when I say I dont like hamburgers I get made fun of a lot! I don't care though, I'm use to it!

So ILP you are saying you want freinds that not only openly call pokemon stupid, but also disregard you for it? I know that may be an exageration, and I also know we have different views on this but that can't make you feel good when they say pokemon is stupid. I'm sure its a good thing they dont care about you liking pokemon and that they don't spread it around but what do they do after they say whatever? That seems way to...iffy, I wouldn't think well of those kids, degrating you right in front of you! Now I don't know the whole situation and I might be blowing this way out of porportion but who knows.

However I do agree with this, people that make fun of you are not only immature, but are making up for all of their problems just because they think you are inferior to them in multiple areas. And you probably arn't inferior to them, they just think that. Sorry I'm just thinking of this one kid that makes fun of me for every single little thing! And the worst part is that he is popular in our "group" and who knows they probably like him much better then me. I can't imagine what he would do if he found out I like pokemon. He would probably announce it over the intercom. I can hear this kid now "Hey why dont you go play with your little pokemon friends! We don't need you here, just leave! He drives me off the wall! Ok sorry for my little rant there.

QFT

Not every cool person doesn't care. That may be the situation at your school, (I like Pokemanyz) but it isn't at my school.

Anyway, the cool kids at mu school get pretty much straight Ds and fS, anyway.

With you all the way on those sentences.

I'm about the pickiest person you will ever meet!

Anyway, MK63, you bike ride 3 miles!? That's a big workout!!

I should of said its 3 miles, there and back. But it is still a good workout, and fun!!

Lol I have been picky all my life! I don't think I will ever change:p

Most of the cool kids at my school aren't that stupid, maybe Cs and Bs then some of them get the Fs and Ds.

1. I never said my friends disregard me. I said the disregard Pokémon. No two people have everything in common, and they have freedom to voice their opinion.

2. I never said my friends don't spread the word. I don't care if they do.

3. After they say 'Yeah, whatever." We go back to whatever it was we were talking about.

4. You said someone in your group makes fun of you for every single thing. This is because cool kids make fun of each other a lot, becuase they know they won't care anyway. If you want him to stop, tell him to stop. Offer him a dollar if he still persists.

I don't think a dollar will stop him...bullies like fear more than just a small amount of money....

Completely agree, I mean its not like its terrible, report to a teacher ect. I only have 2 classes with him,and I sit next to him in one:( Our group is almost seperated in 2 groups, he's in one sub group im in the other. Telling him to stop doesnt exactly work, but its not a big deal.

Sweet we(Participants in this thread) won! Do we get a prize or anything! Thanks!

Like always I agree with shaymin! You may think that umbreondude, but overall wouldn't you prefer not to get harrased and made fun of and just have fun with your friends, and then do pokemon things either on your own or with your pokemon friends. Why mix two groups?!

it's funner to go to pokemno tihng with friends and 3/4 of my friends play and 4/4 of my friends know i play it . and sure i get made fun of , but don't listen to it . as long as i like and and it makes me happy i will play it no matter what people say . and sure some times i don't like to tell people when i first meet them , but if i know them al lot i will tell them all you are doing is making this whole thing sound like a big problem . the world has enough problems we don't need any more of them

Maybe people at his school beat em' up if he likes Pokemon.

Anyway, now $20 or so may stop a bully, but not $1. And, they'll probably keep bullying becuase they are just lying sneaks.

I do not think paying a bully to stop him from bullying is the best way to go. After all, he is a bully. Bribing the sneaks with money will just tell him you are afraid.
