RE: The Angels

Drey walked into the large apartment building. The inside looked very well kept, with black faux leather furniture in the lobby. There was a door man who looked to be about 50, with grey hair and a kind face. He tipped his hat to Drey.

"Excuse me" Drey said to the man. "I'm new here and I'm looking for a place to stay. You wouldn't happen to..."

"Of course!" replied the man. "Which floor would you like?"

"You wouldn't happen to have an open roof-top pent house, would you?"

"As a matter of fact..." The man motioned Drey to the elevator, and pressed the top floor button. The elevator lurched to life and quickly took them up. The doors opened up directly to the pent house and the door man beckoned him in. Drey was speechless. It was perfect! There was a couch and two chairs much like the ones in the lobby, a widescreen TV and hardwood floors. There was a kitchen already filled with food and0 a bar already stoked with drinks. And the walls were huge windows over looking central park. There was also a balcony that had chairs and tables, and best of all a hot tub. Now he knew he was in heaven.

"Don't worry about people entering with out permission" the door man said. This had not occured to Drey yet, but the elevator did enter right into his living room. "Only you or I can access this floor, unless you allow someone else to"

"Thank you" replied Drey. "I can't believe this was available!"

"Well, this is the afterlife, after all"

RE: The Angels

BUMP!

RockWrecker, if you're going to call my character, you could at least be a little more active.

RE: The Angels

"A room?" Dan said to Betty. "Now that you say so I think my senses are guiding me somewhere..." Dan started walking past the entrance and headed towards the main stadium store. "It's somewhere in here, I know it." Dan went into the store and continued walking until he reached a door. He looked inside and found the main office for all of the stores in the stadium. It was spacy even with all the extra merchandise and small offices. There was definitely enough space to make a room out of it. The only thing he was wondering though, was would they let him stay here? He could feel himself gravitating towards here the second he knew he had a chance of living here.

"Betty this is the place! The only problem is, would they let me live here? There's definitely enough room, but what reason would they have for letting me stay? ...I guess we should look for the person who runs the Ebbets Field stores." Dan told Betty, dearly hoping this was his place. He still didn't know why he was here and was frightened. But if this somehow was his permanent place of staying, this had to be home.

OoC: Sorry I thought for some reason I had replied. I started writing this before you wrote that.

RE: The Angels

"A room?" He said, as if he was wondering about the possibilities. "Now that you say so I think my senses are guiding me somewhere..." He led her down hallways, across stores before stopping a a single shop. He headed inside, and Betty smiled at the toys they sold in the fifty's.

"It's somewhere in here, I know it." He walked to the back door. Betty smiled. She remembered the pull to a home in Heaven herself. It was a great feeling.

"Betty this is the place! The only problem is, would they let me live here? There's definitely enough room, but what reason would they have for letting me stay? ...I guess we should look for the person who runs the Ebbets Field stores."

Betty could almost laugh. It was Heaven after all, wasn't it. She gave a smile and a giggle before saying "Of course! You don't need authorization! You were meant for this room...I can tell!"

She looked to the clock on the wall behind her desk. Uh-oh. She was going to be late for that meeting with the G.O.D.

"Um..sorry. I'm late for a meeting! Your therapist will meet you tonight at dusk!" She said as she ran out of the store and headed for the entrance to the stadium. She leaped off the steps and flew out of the stadium and into the sunset.

***

Finally, she plunked down at the Capitol. It was dusk. She ran inside to meet the ever-so-friendly doorman Benny.

"Hey Benny. Sorry I'm-" Betty began before the interuption.

"Late? Right. Well, here we go again. You know what to do." The doorman released with a sigh.

She did the usual and released a sigh as she walked down one of the large hallways.

***

A woman knocked on the top floor of an apartment. She hoped this was the boy's...she hoped she pronounced his name right. Drey, was it? She also hoped she got the right adress. Her boss loved to play jokes. She wasn't a fan. She tossed her long black hair and sighed at the wrinkles forming on her forehead. Why did her dreams have to be in the thirties?

***

A bald man with black eyes and round red glasses knocked on the glass to a baseball store office. How lucky this new angel was...for his calling place to be in a baseball field. This kid would be a challenge though, according to his file.

OoC: The other players need to find thier home places by Saturday. Ice_Master seems to have to ditched us, so if she doesn't post before Saturday, she's off.

RE: The Angels

Drey was exploring his new residency when he heard a knock on his door. A visitor already? But he didn't even know anyone yet. He walked to the elevator door and pressed the button. The door opened to reveal an attractive woman with long black hair. This day just kept getting better.
"How may I help you?" he said to the woman, while holding the elevator doors so she could come in.

RE: The Angels

Dan didn't expect anyone to be coming to his door already so a visitor surprised him. "He-hello? May I help you?" Dan stayed behind the door. He didn't want any strangers coming in. He was already in a strange place and he didn't need strange people coming into this weird life. He was overjoyed to be an Ebbets Field. To live in this legendary place he had only heard of was overwhelming. He didn't want a visitor ruining his happy getaway from his real life. He didn't want this to be a dream.

RE: The Angels

The woman watched a smile grow on the young man's face. She could almost laugh.

"How may I help you?" He said, holding open the elevator doors. How could he help her? Guess the Guider didn't warn him about the therapist. He was in for a surprise.

"It's more like how can I help you." She began, sticking out the "I" and "you" to let him reach her point. "May I come in?"

***

The boy seemed scared, and the man knew why. His death was extremely tragic. The process of healing would have to be very gradual with this one.

"He-hello? May I help you?" He tentavely asked, still standing behind the door.

The man calmed himself, holding his briefcase in front of him. He smiled and said "Hello, I am hear to help you and to explain to you why this is all going on." He began, sounding calm and friendly. "I'm Mr. Davis. Can I come in?"

***

Betty sighed as she entered the courtroom. This was going to be awful. The G.O.D always discrimated her Guiding ability. Why did they have to be so mean? Especially in Heaven!

"Keep you thoughts to yourself Miss Robinson." on of the council scolded in his deep tone.

I was...She thought before the hearing began.

"Miss Betty Penope Robinson. We have watched your first attempt in Guiding and found you nervous, scared, and worried. That is not acceptable. However, we found you using these traits to your advantage, helping the new angels. We have decided to take away you Guiding abilities."

Betty felt her heart drop to the floor.

What?!

"And instead, we will have you watch this young group of angels, and record there process. We want to know how your form of Guiding worked in the end."

Betty smiled, bowed, and walked out the door behind her. As soon as she was out of the building, she thought: The end? Heaven lasts an eternity...doesn't it?

RE: The Angels

He gestured with his free arm for her to come in. She was going to help him? Was she another angel like Betty, here to help guid him into life after death? He followed her into the living room, letting the elevator slide shut behind him.
"Make yourself at home. Would you like something to drink? I have... Well pretty much anything."

RE: The Angels

The woman smiled. She fluttered her white wings as she sat in one of the chairs.

"Make yourself at home. Would you like something to drink? I have... Well pretty much anything." he asked. She wouldn't need anything.

"No, I'm actually you're hired therapist. Every angel gets one, since every angel has gone through a traumatic experience. So please, sit down."

She said motioning to the couch. She crossed her legs in her black skirt before taking her notepad out of her briefcase. She took the pen out of her hair and began writing.

"Let's start with something simple. Tell me how you feel about your death."

OoC: Paused, one post per person.

RE: The Angels

"Oh.. Umm okay." Drey walked over and sat on the couch. "How do I feel about my death? Well... I'm not really sure. I mean, I died. But I'm not really dead . You know what I'm saying? And it just doesn't feel as terrible as it maybe should. The only issue I have with dying is that I don't know many people he-" Drey stopped mid sentence. Something had clicked in him. He was dead, and he was now living with the dead.
"I, uh. Any other questions?" He shifted his weight anxiously and looked past the woman to the window, but then regained his cool and sat back, looking more relaxed. His eyes still went past the woman, as if he was thinking of something else.

RE: The Angels

"Oh.. Umm okay." Drey replied. He seemed uncomfortable, a common action "How do I feel about my death? Well... I'm not really sure. I mean, I died. But I'm not really dead . You know what I'm saying? And it just doesn't feel as terrible as it maybe should. The only issue I have with dying is that I don't know many people he-"

Ah, so he wasn't nessicarily as worried about himself. He was murdered, of course. But unlike most victims, he didn't want to claim revenge.

"I, uh. Any other questions?" He asked, shifting his wieght and losing focus. So, it was too early for that question. She would start easy, then.

"Do you have any family members that you miss on Earth?" Of course, she already had the information to that question, but listening to him talk about his family would help her understand his situation a little bit further. Most angels don't understand the fact that, no, they aren't coming back. That have to either watch thier friends from heaven or wait for them to die. It was sad. None of her friends or family members had died yet herself.

OoC: First of all, we are Un-Paused, but I won't be active for a few hours. Story post with Betty later.

RE: The Angels

OoC: He was killed in an earthquake, not murdered. Unless you are saying mother nature murdered him :p Also, going out of town for the weekend. Ill get on with my iPhone if I have service.

IC: "Family? No, not on Earth. My mom died almost 20 years ago. She would be here, right? Could I see her?" He sat back up, now looking at the woman, expecting an answer. He was hoping she would help, he had no idea how to find someone here. There had to be trillions of people living here! Did they all live in this "city" or was there a whole globe too? It would be hard to find one person, but surely the angels are used to that request. But she would probably want to finish this session first. Drey knew that if his mom was out there, he wouldn't be able to concentrate on this "help" session.

RE: The Angels

"Uhm... Hello Mr. Davis..." Dan said through the door. He then realized that he was still talking behind the door and opened it. "Yeah you can um... come in... Soooo... what were you saying about explaining?" Dan still wasn't sure about what was going on, and he wasn't sure if he wanted to know. He sat down in his new room and offered Mr. Davis a seat. Then Dan braced himself for the real truth.

RE: The Angels

Now that the fourth is over, let's announce the current accepted members!

RockWrecker and shampoothief, since they are the only ones who bothered to post actively. Thank you, society. Everybody else is kicked out. Sorry, but this is top-notch compared to the other RPG's. It doesn't get more challenging than this.

IC: Betty saw that the sun was sinking, and the moon was rising. She rested on the top of a skyscraper, watching from above the city. Well, she got what she wanted. She was watching these Angels from now until...well, forever.

Part of her wanted to destroy the Capitol. Another part wanted her to kiss thier feet.

I'm such an idiot... she thought with a sigh.

***

"Family? No, not on Earth. My mom died almost 20 years ago. She would be here, right? Could I see her?"

The therapit sighed. It was always hard to answer that question.

"Well, that really depends on you. You see, here in Heaven, things depend more on....fate. So, you will see your mother when your mind is set. But right now, you are under a thick pressure, which needs to be released." She paused. It was strange, most people didn't even know they were dead when they were. Had he not really thought about it yet?

"Drey, you do realize that you are dead, and that you'll never go back...right?"

***

"Uhm... Hello Mr. Davis..." The boy said nervously before opening the door for him. He welcomed Mr. Davis to a seat, but still stood himself. He was uncomfortable. "Yeah you can um... come in... Soooo... what were you saying about explaining?"

"Well, to be honest, Dan, I'm here to help you heal from the tradegy of your death." Mr. Davis stated, waiting for the release of emotion.

RE: The Angels

"Yes, yes, I realize that. Look, I can understand what is going on. I am not some little kid or something. I know I won't go back to "life" or anything, but how can you say I am dead? Or say it like a bad thing? Look at where we are! This is living. I didn't have a family on earth, and my friends I only saw occasionally. And I will still miss them terribly, but I will make new friends here. And then one day we will be reunited anyway. If this is Heaven, why should I be anything but overjoyed?"

RE: The Angels

OoC: Sorry went on a short vacation.

"D-d-d-dead?" Dan managed to stammer out. "S-s-so this... this is really heaven?" Dan thought about it and thought about it. He must've been shot and it must have been instant. He burst out in tears and screams. "I-I could've stopped my death! I knew about the gun the whole time!" Dan screamed. "It's not my time! IT'S NOT MY TIME!" Dan looked crazed now. He was confused before, but now he knew what had happened. "Send me back! You have to!" Dan pleaded, although he knew nothing like that could happen.

RE: The Angels

OoC: I am so sorry, but it looks like as if I'm going to have to drop this. I have recently recieved some news that is going to make me very busy, so I need to drop a few of my projects. I try to pick the ones that effect the least people, and this will only effect two. I apologize again. This RPG is closed.
