Got to Apophyll Academy. This is my current team:

Serperior Lv. 37
Persian Lv. 36
Camerupt Lv. 39
Ampharos Lv. 39
Aromatisse Lv. 34
Croagunk Lv. 33

Also, what you find out about Team Meteor's plans at this point makes no sense.

I mean, they want to drive people out of the city but their actions are making it harder for people to leave. They poisoned the lake and bombed the train preventing people from using trains or boats to leave the city. Then they used the Pulse Tangrowths which trapped the residents of those areas and restricted their mobility. And there's nowhere for the people to even leave the city because all of the gates are locked. And then when you actually try to escape after breaking Heather out of Dr. Connal's orphanage, they capture everyone (except you and Cain). It seems like everything they've done contradicts that very purpose. So either there's something about what they're doing that the plot hasn't revealed yet or their plan is really half baked.

I'm pretty sure that their main goal is to unlock/unleash whatever the hell it is that's underneath the city behind that gate and that general destruction and/or "encouraging" people to leave is secondary at best. Obviously, they don't really have much concern for life.

Can't say I follow Team Meteor very well either, they're just pretty stereotypical bad guys in a lot of ways. They cause havoc in the city, strive for power, kidnap orphans... All the usual stuff. They're just very dark about it. No care for human life, for the Pokemon in the area, or even for the environment, going out of their way to damage all three in drastic ways. I wouldn't be surprised if there was more to them, in fact I expect it. But they do seem to at least be a very well put-together team for the most part, which leads me to believe their actions will add up at some point.

I just couldn't get into this game. I was kind of forcing myself to get through the second gym, and after that I couldn't force myself anymore. Voltorb Switch was pretty cool.

So, I got a bit of playtime in today. Screwed my back up again, so not much else to do. *sigh* Anyway, I finished the Yureyu building exploration, getting a lot of experience to Poseidon and getting him evolved up into Blastoise. I went up against Dr. Connel a couple times and it was like banging my head against a wall; lots of paralysis and confusion and I kept getting really unlucky with coin flips. Seriously, in both battles I don't think I ever properly acted once while paralyzed or did anything but hurt myself in confusion. The 3rd time, I decided to try selecting "no" during the pre-battle dialogue with him to see what happens... and I ended up getting to fight Sirius from Team Meteor instead! \o/ Much easier battle.

I did just enough plot to unlock the Chrysolia Region, then I did some backtracking. I managed to find Flash, get the key for the Move Relearner, and also got myself some more Pokémon to train: Ralts, Mawile, and Shellos. Ralts came at Lv. 10 so he's currently hanging out at the Day Care along with Ears McBat from before. Both Mawile and Shellos are a high enough level (mid-/late-30s ish?) that I'll just start training them with me first, but I want to get Poseidon up to code first; this game is difficult enough that I don't want to have more than one under-leveled Pokémon at a time, I think.

With both Strength and Flash, there are a few other areas that I want to go back and explore first before heading on. I can think of a couple places that needed Strength to explore thoroughly and at least 1 for Flash.

Of course, now that I've actually decided to use the Guide on the Reborn forums it ends. :p Oh well, guess I'll be fully exploring on my own, then.

So I just defeated one of the twins (Noel). I ended the battle with a fullpower Eruption. Afterwards; "That's a little insensitive to win the battle by starting a fire! I guess as long as Charlotte and Laura don't found out." from... Noel? Then Laura herself arrives talking about Charlotte and how she once set fire to the same place, and ended up killing people.

Had this same problem. When the game actually started getting a bit more difficult, I went for a guide (as much as I didn't want to, really) but I was already further along than the guide was. >.>

I was mostly just using it to reference Gym Leader info as well as where I can/should backtrack after completing certain events (especially since some places are kind of a pain to get around). The former... I could probably find elsewhere if I look around the forums a bit; I think there's actually a Gym Leader help thread? The latter is kind of cheating I guess anyway, so I'll just force myself to be less lazy. >.> I still standby the fact that I would never have discovered the Squirtle thing on my own, though. And I've never seen a sunny day since starting. :<

The more I progress through the game, the more the reserve gym leader system is starting to grate my nerves. It's a real screw you to power through a tough gym battle and then find out afterwards that it didn't count, and it really serves no purpose other than to pad the game out with extra battles.

Anyway, I'm about to fight Aya and this is my team right now:

Serperior Lv. 42
Camerupt Lv. 45
Ampharos Lv. 43
Aromatisse Lv. 40
Toxicroak Lv. 41
Drifblim Lv. 40

I'm probably going to have to level down that Camerupt because it's right at the level cap.

I try to keep everybody one level under the cap, since through major battles gaining a level isn't uncommon, so the buffer is nice. Common Candies are my bestest friend.

Guess who's in Spinel Town!

Finished my wanderings and picked up a few Pokémon for my troubles, including a Drifloon, a Magnemite, a Nidorina, and approximately 5 million Vanillites because I kept being too fast at the vending machine and I ended up with a bunch. >_> Chrysolia Forest... does that even count as a puzzle? I just kept wandering around until I eventually made it through. Poseidon is also up to snuff, which means I can start training more, but first it's.... GYM BATTLE TIME.

... almost, anyway. I'm in the Gym but Bennett keeps creaming me because his stupid Signal Beam is either a OHKO or does like 80% damage to my entire team thanks to the stupid field. I've got a few possible plans of attack, and will probably start working on it today.

1) Break the field
There are a few different moves that will break the field that I can hope to learn. The easiest option here would be Hyper Voice for Exploud... but only if it learns it at ORAS levels, which would be 47. My Exploud is currently at 44, so that would be the easiest option, but unfortunately in all other Gens it learns it at a level too high for this battle. Litleo/Pyroar can learn it, but my Litleo is only Lv. 18, so that would be a lot of grinding. On the other hand, Pyroar would be useful for the actual gym battle, too (and the battle against Bennett), so it's still a fair consideration. Another option is using my shiny Graveler to get Bulldoze, but Graveler/Golem is weak to Ice and neutral to Bug, so I wouldn't get much use out of it outside of field-breaking.

2) Tough it out
I have a few other Pokémon that I'm thinking of training/evolving that would specifically resist Bug-type moves: Mawile, Drifloon, Nidorina, Magnemite, Duskull. Mawile and Drifblim both double resist, so that would probably be the most useful for Bennett, but Drifblim's Ice weakness makes it less useful for the actual gym battle, same for Nidoqueen. Mawile on the other hand resists both Bug and Ice, as does Magneton; Dusclops is neutral to Ice.

My current plan of action is to get Skrillex 3 more levels to 47 and cross my fingers that he'll learn Hyper Voice then. If he does, then I'll probably swap him in and try to finish up Bennett just with that and then handle Serra separately.

If he doesn't learn Hyper Voice then, than my plan would be to swear a lot. I'd probably give Mawile a go since she's a decently high level already (38) and wouldn't require much leveling. If that's not enough, I guess I'd swear some more and pull out Litleo and level her up a bunch for both Hyper Voice and easy Bug/Ice killing.

I also found my 5th shiny, Oddish! :D I'd be tempted to use it except that the -Sp.Atk nature kind of sucks. >_>

I literally went up to the gym leader for the Ice gym, saved and started battling to try and get a decent battle without all the stupid crits and misses (which probably took over 10 tries), as I knew I could win otherwise. >_>

Oh, and with the field breakage, when you actually break the field is pretty important, as it can net you a free KO (good on the Vanilluxe) or sacrifice one of your most powerful depending.

I just toughed it out, in the end. Blaziken was able to boost enough to get a good sweep going. ...Took a few tries, because Blaze Kick had a hax problem with missing everything, and one time he over-leveled and simply stopped listening altogether.

I just beat the Dark gym leader, very nice puzzle getting to her, though the amount of wilds without repels is a bit annoying, and it can be hard to find in the first place if you don't pay attention to dialogue but... I have 9 badges now. \o/

I can't remember how many badges are actually in the game right now, but the next one seems to be some sort of circus (there's a gym sign out front, which I didn't expect). The story is, uh, weird, at this point. There's a... Very interesting character that I just met. S/he's a bit trigger-happy with that giant mallet though...

Good news, everyone! Exploud does, indeed, learn Hyper Voice at his ORAS levels. As soon as I got him up to 47 and learned that, I swapped him in instead of Lord Death and went against both Bennett and Serra. I felt underleveled, especially against Serra, but I managed. New badge get!

Managed to finagle my way back through the forest and now I'm leveling up in anticipation of fighting Dr. Connal (again). I actually started training Mawile... but as I was typing this up, I realized that Shellos/Gastrodon would be better for this battle, so I think I'm going to swap PMJ out and start training Shellos instead. Yay, more leveling. :U

Does Chrysolia Forest ever get, you know, better? Or am I going to have to navigate through that crapsack of a "puzzle" every time I want to go through there? I bought a bunch of Ice Cream from the vending machine in hopes that I could avoid it, but I'm curious.

Current Party:
Lord Death - Lv. 47 Venusaur
Lady Barks - Lv. 47 Mightyena
Felinicity - Lv. 47 Meowstick (F)
Thor - Lv. 47 Luxray
Hephaestus - Lv. 48 Magcargo
PMJ - Lv. 42 Mawile

Reserve Teammates:
Skrillex
- Lv. 47 Exploud
Poseidon - Lv. 30 Squirtle
Squishy - Lv. 32 Shellos

To Be Trained:
Queen Beryl
- Lv. 28 Nidorina
Balloon Man - Lv. 30 Drifloon
Starlord - Lv. X Ralts (Daycare)
Ears McBat - Lv. X Noibat (Daycare)
More possibilities yet unlisted!

It doesn't, unfortunately. At least, not that I can tell.
But on windy days be sure to head towards the south-east side for a cave that will give you an Eevee... After you solve an equally annoying puzzle.

Also, in regards to your Oddish from before, there will come a point where you'll meet a guy that actually changes your Pokemon's nature. At random, sure, but only for a Heart Scale I think. My Galvantula used to be -SpA, now he's Timid and I couldn't be happier.

Ooooh, thanks, I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm not terribly picky about natures unless they're specifically -Atk/-SpA for whichever type of move I will likely be using, so I'll probably be happy with whatever.

I think tomorrow is supposed to be windy, so I guess I'll look for Eevee then. Eevee is worth annoyance, at least once. >_> That just means I'll have to decide which Eeveelution I'll want... decisions, decisions...

In the meantime, I haven't had a lot of playtime today, but I'm slowly working on training up Shellos. It's kind of annoying right now because it has shit for moves, but I'll live.

Wait, how can you tell what the weather will be in the game before the actual day?

So I've heard a couple of people say they didn't know how to obtain Corey's Pokemon in the game, but I have so I think I'll share it here.

First of all, to get any of Corey's Pokemon, you need a special item called the Silver Ring, which is stated to have belonged to Corey. It's found in Corey's bedroom in his gym. Once you have it, when you interact with his Pokemon they'll notice the Silver Ring and want to join your team.

Croagunk- You need to have beaten Shelly and use Rock Smash to find Croagunk. Go across Beryl Bridge to the gym and you'll see a Rock Smash boulder blocking a cave entrance. Go inside and you'll be in Citrine Mountain, an ice cave that consists of a maze of cliffs and stairs. Go down the following sets of stairs and you'll find Croagunk: down, down, left, down, right, down, right, down, left.
Nidorina- You need to have beaten Shelly and use Rock Smash to find Nidorina, and if you have Flash it'd be a good idea to use it as well. Go to Beryl Cemetary and smash the rocks blocking the cave. It's dark in here so use Flash if you have it. Go left and eventually you'll find a ladder. Go through the ladder, then go down and left and you'll see a closed cage. Go past it and you'll find an open cage with a switch inside. Flip the switch to open the first cage, and you'll find Nidorina waiting inside.

Has anyone found the others? I assume you can get them, but they're probably further in the game than I am (I'm in Byxbysion Wasteland).
