Anyways, just in case I'm still not playing Gyarados right, here are some things that I've noticed during gameplay:

1. My hand is often times large. I don't run Claydol either.
2. I usually have a T2-T3 start. Sometimes T4, but usually T3.
3. My bench is often puny. Since Celebi said that a small bench should be the case, it should be correct.

So if any of these things aren't good, or shouldn't happen, please let me know.
Well, since I'm working on an article I'm just needing to know if I'm playing it right (after what happened to me before). So these are the things I'm wondering about. Other than that nothing much. I'm looking for some ideas and such as well.

Okay well tell me if you do

The thing that I really need the most are some techs and matchups. For the techs, I already have Luxray GL, Blissey Prime, Registeel/Regice, Crobat G, Lunatone, Combee, and Blissey PL. I know I'm missing a few things too. For the matchups, I know Jumpluff, Donphan, and Charizard well. The matchups I need help with is Flygon, Dialga G, Plox, and the other top decks that I've missed.

RE: The Storms ~ This format is ours! *Always accepting members* *PLEASE check if you are on the inactive list!*

so you wanna find the matchups and tecs for Flygon, Dialga G,

RE: The Storms ~ This format is ours! *Always accepting members* *PLEASE check if you are on the inactive list!*

Dialga G in the hands of a good player, with a combee is winable. Blissey also helps this matchup. Plox is very much in your favor. YOu can easily 1 hit while they cannot and power lock does not really affect you. Flygon really depends on the techs ect.

Also you DO NOT need claydol. SO please dont preach that through out the article. It's more of a tech and Dodrio is better anyway.

I only mentioned Claydol in the article once, and then I said that you don't really need it. I guess if you didn't need it, I didn't need to mention it, but oh well. And thanks for the matchup tips (yeah, a few of them I can't make at the moment.)

@DarknessPokemonMaster: Yeah, pretty much.

Might I ask what the topic is?

Nothing much at all. Me and a few other members are talking about Gyarados. I'm working on an article for it which is another reason why I've been all over Gyarados. Otherwise, it is the prerelease, metagame discussion, and whatever is on the first post.

Anyways, in Dumbo decks, has anyone thought of using the SW Donphan? With DCE attached to it, Donphan can do 130 damage for three against any Defending Pokemon that has a tool attached to it. So something like SP's, Expert Belt, or Unown G users could really get hurt...

Donphan SW could be interesting.

On another note I found 6 promo packs at target today. I got 3 primes, a DCE, and a communication. Primes were Amphy, Donphan, and Blissey.

Well, in that case Im just going to throw out a statment. I feel that Donphan is overhyped in the long run.
Its good right now yes, but in the long run, it will fail.

Im looking ahead at the new Lanturn Prime and Kingdra Prime comming out next set and all I see is death for Donphan.

I really want those too, shadoworganoid.

BTW Gliscor, I replied to your pm about a request and you still never replied back...

>.> Just when my dad and I were about to check if my local Target has some early HGSS packs, it begins to snow. Nice pulls though.

To Donphan, I'm surprised how it hasn't been noticed yet. I don't really think it would be that slow with DCE, and against the right matchup it could do tons of damage.

I dont know... I think its only good against SP decks mainly. Bash In is a good attack only if they have a Tool attached. Otherwise, its just an overpriced attack with very little output for the cost.

But in decks like Flygon, your opponent would obviously play an Unown G on their active or Claydol just to prevent being hit by Inviting Trap. So you could just do an easy 130 damage for three (with DCE attached.)

True, but as you said, its on their Claydol. Claydol which is not active 9 times out of 10. SP match ups are your best bet.

Its VERY uncommon to see unknown G on your active. At least, I havent seen that much.

Yeah because they use Unown G as the Pokemon Tool to prevent damage being done to a Pokemon :)

I sometimes see an Unown G on the active. Odds are it is on a benched tech or something, but every now and then I see it. Oh well. Just an idea against SP's/Expert Belt users.

EDIT: Ninja'd. Unown G doesn't prevent damage either, dragonpokemon. It only prevents effects of attack, not damage.

Lol whatever. BTW can we have a new topic :]

Fine >.>

RL scans are still coming up (unless we have all of them) Any combos? Decks? Ideas? Just talk about RL! Revived Legends, BTW.

Yay, good topic.

Many of these new pokemon stand out; Vileplume, Lanturn Prime, Dodrio, ECT. But im especially interested in;

houndoom.jpg

Houndoom - Darkness - HP 90
Stage 1 - Evolves from Houndour

[D] Bonfire Strike: 20 damage. If your opponent has any Fighting-type Pokemon in play, this attack does an additional 60 damage.
[D][D] Dark Roar: 50 damage. Your opponent discards 1 card from his or her hand.

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Psychic (-20)
Retreat: 1

Its HP is average for a stage 1. And a single energy to retreat isnt bad. Plus, moonlight stadium zero's it out. :D

But its attacks are just great. Bonfire Strike covers it weakness and Dark Roar hits hard plus the discard effect.

Im looking into a deck focusing on;
4-4 Houndoom
2-1 or 2-2 Absol G Lv X

Just hammer away at their deck/hand and ruin their life.
Plus being dark types, they can benefit from Special dark energy.
