The Yu-Gi-Oh Thread

Don't expect many Mathematician. Expect some, but it truly shines in Lightsworns (with support that the west hasn't gotten yet).
Other than that, I'unno. Best of luck.

Soul Charge...it'll get banned right? I don't wanna go ahead and drop the money on it if it's gonna get nerfed...

We have three months, and then it will hopefully be banned. I have my three already, and that was out of maybe 15 packs, so I'd say you have a pretty good chance of getting at least the two that are required for most decks. It's only a super rare, and DoL is a hidden arsenal style set. I also want to say it's going for only $10.

Edit: I finished x-2, played against 3 Bujin, 2 Hunder, 2 Mermail, 1 Hieratic Ruler, 1 Agent. Mini Mermail List I had some trouble with the mirror when they brought out Leo, so I started looking around, and I almost want to test Number 73: Abyss Splash just to get over crap like that. Thoughts?

Huh, never seen Goblindbergh run in Mermails. How's it working?

Abyss Splash isn't bad at all, though I'd run Number 94: Crystal Zero when it comes out unless you're having immense trouble with Leoh--Crystal Zero has the benefit of being able to use its effect multiple times in 1 turn, not halving battle damage when you use its effect, and being able to dodge BTH.

Leo is the main reason I would use Abyss Splash :p

And Goblindbergh works amazingly. Here are the two combos I use most often with him:
Hand: Teus + Water
SS Teus
Search and NS Ocea
Trade Teus for Pike and Linde/Hilde
Overlay Ocea and the other level 3 for Invoker
SS Lindbergh from the deck
Overlay for any Rank 4 (ARK, Dweller, Chain)

Hand: Teus + Pike/Hilde + Water
SS Teus
Search the Pike/Hilde you're missing
NS Pike, ditch Hilde
Search and SS Dine using Hilde
SS Hilde using Dine
Overlay for Invoker
SS Lindbergh
Overlay for Chain
Ditch and SS Tidal using Chain
Overlay for Rank 7 (Gaios, Dracossack)

The combos are even better if you have Soul Charge for back up. Also, Lindbergh isn't really dead if you draw it since it can make an Xyz play if you need it.

I personally like it--gives boosts to a lot of decks that really need the boost to stay relevant.

Gotta love DN. Switched to DevPro now that I'm at home and I have easy access to a PC.

I hate how they're still fueling Bujin...sweet heavens. Anjelly makes Madolches Tier 1 now. I dunno if you guys have seen the YCS Philly list that won, but...wow. It's not bad.

EDIT: Also, I need cheaper side deck options. I don't have any Kaiser or Royal Decree. I have one Black Horn.

Check it out - I don't EVER go in the Extra Deck hence all the weirdness. This deck is good.

Err, technically it topped, not won - remember the draft? But I see what you mean. Anjelly is very good and does boost the Madolche archetype as a whole by leaps and bounds.

Artifacts are however emerging as the dominant stuff, definitely surpassing its already-high hype. Factrix, with or without Hands, is a very nice stun deck and probably capable of dominating further in this format with no real BDIF to take its slight lead away afaik. #pricejumptoostronk

Speaking of Artifacts...don't you just love how desperate people get to throw Artifacts into everything? People are talking about how Shadoll Artifacts are the best variant of Shadolls. Really klinks my klangs.

Yeah. They are versatile but not that versatile. At least they have more utility than the Hands (from my experience). But I think Shadollfacts is a legitimate threat - whilst it remains to be seen if that or the Chronofact hybrid is better, Shadolls are like Dragon Rulers in that they make decks that much better just by combining them.

The advent of Grystal and El Shaddoll Fusion just shoots up their potential...it's not out of the question at all to get out both Grystal and Midrash on the first turn...not to forget that Lonefire Blossom is FIRE attribute, so Shaddoll Plant (and Shaddoll Quasar, for that matter) is not out of the realm of possibilities.

I've been trying to mess around with a Kaiser Colosseum build that focuses around Midrash...have you played Shaddolls enough to know how Kaiser might work out?

No. To be honest I'm just focusing on the current tcg meta, trying to get my Mermails to work, gathering new crap, etc. Very unconcerned with ocg as it stands.

I don't bother with OCG until it hits TCG either. Artifacts are extremely annoying with Artifact Ignition being a Quick Spell.

Any comments on my deck?

Well, I haven't run much of Malefics in my experience...but they sure do look promising. Never considered using Mound, honestly...just things that kept themselves on the field easily. run Obelisk to thin your deck if they destroy Mound :V

Well, I know when we get Shaddolls, you might want to tech/side (probably the latter) Super Poly/Non-Fusion Area, but for now...maybe Thunder King? It's tried and true overall.
In anti-meta decks of mine, I've used Vanity's Emptiness and Deck Lockdown to great effect. The former works well when you have a Malefic CED and Mound that can't be killed with card effects, and the latter doesn't harm your deck at all (except with Duality). Perhaps you could mess with those?
EDIT: Just remembered something: Big Burn. Your deck doesn't really seem to be affected by it at all, and a lot of decks rely on the Graveyard (more than ever now that Soul Charge is a thing and is at 3), soooo...

Lol, the price jump for all of the HATE (Hands/Artifacts/Traptrix/Everything else) deck's main cards...

Moralltach $13-15
Ignition $25-30
Sanctum $40+
TTHN $20
Fire/Ice Hand $10

I love this game. Love this game.

Non-Fusion Area looks devastating and awesome. I'll have to pick up a couple of those cards before/if they get expensive. As much as I like Deck Lockdown and Vanity's, Deck Lockdown is too slow. If I don't have a Malefic on the field within turns one and three, I lose. I have to draw a lot and rely on PoD to grab Cardcar or whatever. The perfect set-up requires Mound, Malefic, and Field Barrier/Skill Drain. If I have those and a few backrow hate cards like Bribe or MST, they lose. Plus, Vanity's is really expensive right now haha. Ain't nobody got time for that. Big Burn looks legit, holy smokes. It seems like something hysterical I could drop the turn after they pop Kuribandit or something haha.

Fire/Ice Hand are ten a piece!? I picked up three of each for about ten dollars last weekend! SCORE.

Very much so, but I think that was just hype from the aftermath of Philly. The hands are going for $7 now, and Ignition and Moralltach also lowered ~$2 each.

I swear YGO is like the stock market. I might cash these babies in unless I find a good way to use them...but in my Skill Drain decks they're just too good not to run.
