Well, they're gone now, and that's what matters. Almost nobody is interested in Wi-fi trading/battling on this forum anymore, and unless that changes, we won't be bringing the individual trading threads back. I really don't know what happened to all of the trading activity either man; even I had a trading thread at one time, and I thought it was really fun. I just became disinterested, so don't think I don't know where you're coming from.
Well if you look at it from my point of view it just is not normal to have a forum with no Wi-Fi trading threads. I am not sure if you know about PokeCommunity Forums but I have noticed that there forum is very active there. Maybe those members that were here went to that site and Serebii because they think the mods here were too easy on the members. It is not that way now but 3-4 years ago we were able to battle with hacks and trade with hacks as long as it had a legit moveset. meaning the moves had to be legit in order to use. them. Maybe those members don't know about the changes we have had since then or something.
Pokebeach is first and foremost a TCG-news site. That is where our efforts are being directed right now.
Wifi battles and trades had very little interest even when they were allowed, and right now interest is being developed more towards the TCG, which it should be.
I'll be totally on board and willing to help start up Wifi battling (I actually do EV train in-game and refuse to use PO for personal reasons), but unless there's a lot more interest besides myself, I don't see the point.

I see your point man but why is it ONLY TCG? This site is also for VG and VGC as they use Wi-Fi for their battles. We some how have to focus on both and not just one or the other. Right now we are only on one end of the scale. We have to find a way to balance the scale on both TCG and VGC. We have a lot of people that go to VGC so why are we not focused more on that also besides just the TCG? Right now Serebii (Cough cough. Sorry WPM) balances their stuff on both ends but is more into the VG and VGC.
To counter that effect and become the best site out there we have to be more competitive and balance it on both ends or we are going to sink like a rock and they are going to prevail. If we balance the scale we can take Serebii down with the count. It will take awhile but it will work.

If you're going to compare us to any site, let it NOT be Serebii or Smogon. I, for one, don't want these forums to become a mirror image of either. We should focus on what we're good at, and then, when we're at a point where we're satisfied, we work on other projects. And just so you know, our VG (including VGC) section has many tournaments, RMT's, and other events going on right now, so it's not like we're just totally disregarding those aspects. But we can't make W-fi better if NOBODY wants to do that, so we're not going to try for the moment. Simple as that.

We're trying to make the forum a respectable TCG community on par with other TCG sites out there like Pokegym and http://google.com/, and although I don't know everything the staff has planned, from my point of view it looks like they're doing a great job.
Let's focus on what we're really all about, and then once we are all good with that, then we can start devoting our attention to other areas.

I was not comparing us to any site. I was saying for us to be better we have to find a way to lure those in to be able to make that area active. We have to do something to make it so members will want to come here and have fun at the same time. Somewhere we are lacking that part of the forums. All I am saying is we have to do something top make this place a better one to be a better place. Right now we are Rivals with our neighbor so what we need to do is find a way to be number 1 again like we were for a few years. IRC when Wi-Fi started Serebii did not have a Wi-Fi section yet. When they did get one most members left. Somehow we have to regain the activeness we once had. That is what we need to work on as whole at this time XD.
You don't understand what I mean. It is not that entirely. What I mean is there were members that were active and now have moved to other forums like PC and Serebii. Now those places are flooded with members. I am on 4 other boards besides this one and that is how I found out where most if not all the members have gone. Most have left because at the time we did not have strict rules like we do now and I think but not sure. Just going out on a limb here that they left this place because we used to have so many hacks. They fled to the sites with the rules that were much more strict than we had at the time.
Now that there is sites for getting thing legit checked those members have fled due to all the hacks we used to have and I have heard from members on other boards that we were to easy on the rules for hacks. Now that we have changed the rules to be more strict those members do not know about the new changes. We have to find a way to make that area more inviting so members will want to come here and have fun. It is not that no one cares about it. Most quit due to the percentage of hacks we used to have. Trust me I have heard members say this site is bait for hack. I have heard that on Neoseeker and Pokemon Sure both. However I do not think that is true. It is not that they are not interested. The ones that have moved to simulators are not interested are not anymore. That part is true but we need to motivate others to join these forums and want to trade on Wi-Fi. That is what I am talking about. We have to find a way to get that motivation under way. Once we start on it we will be able to be on a more level scale.

I had an idea to promote some discussion in the TCG section.
What if we implemented a TCG Gym Challenge, similar to the VG Gym Challenge currently happening? We'd have a bunch of players that could challenge and practice to become better, and it would help the overall skill level of the people in the TCG section. It would also make the Gym more active. The Gym Leaders, I'm guessing, would be Futachimaru, Serperior, Celebi23, Mudkip, ESP, Zero, King Arceus, and Gale. The matches could be best 2/3, and then players can challenge similarly to the VG Gym Challenge (threads where people can challenge).
This is just an idea, but I thought it could be pretty interesting. Would this be considered?

I think it is a good idea, but I am too busy with work to be one of the gym leaders if we did something like that. The only way I could even attempt to do that would be over Skype.
