Discussion What to play for the remaining State Championships?

Does anyone know when Generations is legal and if you could play it at Cal. states, which is on April 9, because I am playing Vileplume/bees and I want to use revitalizer.

Its legal now :) (Internet High Five to ShinyHydreigon5 for playing Vileplume/Bees as well as me)

Im playing yveltal vespiqueen raichu. I might change it up depending on the results of the previous week

YZG I would imagine. Things like mega man might do well in that macthup too

Vespiquen/Vileplume depending if they run a lot of Sycamore, YGZ, MegaMan and Batman.

Does anyone think there will be a lot of Greninja in week 2? It won one, got second, two top 4s, and two top 8s. It seems decent since it can be good against Night March and crushes BatMan(I'll probably play BatMan)

Not to mention it's probably the cheapest deck in format (sorry, Night March :()

@Gabking5458 I've been testing VespiPlume with Buddy-Buddy Rescue, and I actually like it more than revitalizer. This is because you can get Unown and Shaymin after using battle compressor.

Revitalizer is a lot more reliable though. The main thing is that is can turn into a vespiquen. You can grab combee and vespiquen off of it and that's crucial. Also if you have a dud hand just grab gloom and vileplume and item lock both to make it so you don't get trampled

Yeah but Battle comp/ Buddy Buddy lets you always get a shaymin
But there isn't ever really a time you don't have draw support unless under item lock (Which you can't play buddy buddy rescue anyway). Also just getting the Item lock or a free Vespiquen is much better. I too have tried Buddy - Buddy Rescue but I do believe that its better to just be able to grab two. Also the opponent can get a much needed Pokemon back.

But if you are going first/ second how many pokemon will they have discarded? After that, you should have item lock.

Well that isn't necessarily important. Nevertheless play which ever one you see as better in your deck :) I still do strongly prefer Revitalizer though :)

I know Night March is getting played with Vespiqueen to work around Joltik. My kiddo and I have been testing it, the only way around Night March that I have found is through Delinquent. I noticed a lot of decks are opting in on Hex and Xersoic instead of Delinquent. But ya, if your patient, delinquent tosses a monkey wrench in that deck. Delinquent, Enhance hammers, Startling Megaphone ran with Parallel city in any deck, will really really toss monkey wrenches into the deck.

Item lock also murderdo Night March. Toad, trevenant and Vileplume/Vespiquen decks should definetly be considered

I've been playtesting YZG, but I'm having a lot of trouble setting it up quickly. Also, I'm not OHKOing things that are too dangerous, like Greninja Break. I'm not really sure how to handle my setups and all that. The deck just feels...clumsy to me. Anybody have a good last-minute decklist or some alternative decks (with lists) that won't fail too hard to Trevenant? States is this weekend and I really need to practice bad.
