You could make one the babies have a mutated parasitic wasp inside of their chest cavity and one night... it breaks out in a spew of blood, guts, and bones. The story then takes a dramatic shift of being based on Ash and Dawns' quest to destroy the deadly creature that killed one of their children and threatens to spread across the planet. It could become a classic.
