I find it insanely ridiculous that this is turning into a debate about how little customization there will be, or how much of it.

We have already been shown, and told - how customizable it will be. We are already told there will be a variety of items, we are already shown what level of customization there will be on the PSS (Those are not NPCs ) and there is clearly no static setup defined by trainer class. If BW 2 has shown us anything, then the salon will possibly remain from the Join Avenue but serve more of a purpose than originally intended.

We know what we have being offered, we've seen it, why are we debating the things that have been shown to us. This is a conversation about what kind of items we'd like to see, not a debate on what we can't do. Please keep it that way.

You have no idea what we're talking about, or at least it seems like you don't. Also if the mod is talking about it you have no authority to tell anyone to get back on topic.

Also there were NPC's shown in beret's. Since you're so convinced we can wear anything the NPC's wear I guess they're confirmed for you.

To those doubting the deepness of the customization feature; Notice how the characters in this pic all have the same base. I'm pretty sure the games will add all these features in-game making it quiet in depth. The only thing they're missing is the body-style option that PBR had.

However, the thing that concerns me is the availability of all these accessories. I'd hate to have to get certain hairstyles or outfits post game or worse, some are event exclusive.

Yes that's great. They all have the same "base" whatever that means. Well they also all have hats, the same smiley face, face shape, eye shape, and cone shaped collar bone, except the ones that look like NPC's.

That's exactly what a base is, bar the hats. They all have the same character template, this is the basis of all character customization.

If they had differing head shapes, neck size, eye placement, etc. In-depth customization wouldn't even be a reality.

That concerns me, too. Post game wouldn't be so bad, since you will get it eventually, and those will probably be special items, What really worries me is if to get some articles you will have to fulfill long and/or tiresome requests, like achievements (like the medal system in BW2, but with clothes), or something like how many trades you've made, how many pokemon you caught, etc, Or worst, they make available a very small portion of the articles, and the rest are DLC. So far game freak (and nintendo in general) have kept themselves away from that, but I fear for the future.

I just noticed it was spurring into too much of a debate. I wasn't telling them specifically - and I'd rather this not turn into a huge flame war or huge debate. At least it has loosened up a bit.

Also this is my thread, I am not aiming it at any mods. Just because there are mods talking about it, does not mean the person in charge of the thread has no say if they see a bit of a possible problem. We are all human here, and I was not pushing any mods around or saying anything directed at them.

I feel like one thing that could come into play is perhaps streetpass? or even play coins?

I can see Play Coins working for special items, as they do in Animal Crossing New Leaf.

Well I thought that was what you meant by base but I thought you were trying to prove those weren't NPC's not prove they were. Purple hair has different Body shape(More like a box instead of a cone), Hair, Eyes, Expression, and he's one of only two without a hat, you can't really tell from that picture if his head shape matches or not. Admittedly the lass matches the base except for the eyes, but the real NPC version of that character has already been shown. Anyway they don't all match the same base like you said they did. Purple hair(one of the two I've been pointing out) is a clear exception.

Anyway I hope I'm wrong...well halfway. Part of me wants to rub your noses in it part of me wants to dress as an NPC. Anyway Dragon's Dogma does it with different head shape, Neck Size, Body Size, Eye Placement, Leg Shape, and more so I think it's possible. Sure stronger hardware or whatever but I think they could manage at least a few changes in the base.

Play coins would be fine, or in-game money, too, something to buy when you have a million dollars in the postgame; trading and streetpass are too difficult to pull off for certain people, Many would be left out of getting those items, like spiritomb in DPP.

The base won't change, it appears that the player models are facially animated, although not much, I don't think they will allow face customizing, not yet.
That doesn't necessarily mean we won't be able to look like NPCs, but I think that, if able, it will be more like a full body (character model) change, rather than mixing and matching with the player's clothes.

True, I'd hate to get some item via streetpass only D': Play coins seems like a decent candidate. I really hope they play a role such as getting cameo clothing or special items.

...That was my whole point from the very beginning...

RE: Trainer Customization - What Items do you want to see?

I have been waiting for years for them to have something like this! I would love it if they had a Pikachu outfit. :D

RE: Trainer Customization - What Items do you want to see?

Im hoping that, at the very least, you can wear an adjustable baseball cap backwards. Just like Gold's in HGSS!

Pokemon X/Y: Trainer Outfits

What outfits would you like to see? Do you think the outfits will expand to the overworld?

RE: Pokemon X/Y: Trainer Outifits

I wanna see some cosplay action.

I imagine that we will see the customization options in the overworld; it seems silly that we could customize our character to have a cool outfit and a stylish hairdo, yet when we're playing through the game it just came up as the default trainer.

I'm imagining we'll get the salon/boutique in Lumiose City; we'll probably unlock more customization options as we get more Gym Badges.

RE: Pokemon X/Y: Trainer Outifits

I want it so that when you beat the game you can get the outfits from all the other games.

RE: Pokemon X/Y: Trainer Outifits

Pokémon themed outfits. Also the male trainer needs to learn to style.

RE: Pokemon X/Y: Trainer Outifits

I wonder if clothing will become event-like. Obtaining new outfits by visiting conventions or stores or random events. OR if there will be another way to diversify your wardrobe (like an online store) but it uses real money. =o Some games make bank on customization.

The whole customizing your character will make that camera feature a bit more fun.

RE: Pokemon X/Y: Trainer Outifits

It's pretty infuriating for me to see so many types of costumes and trinkets for the player yet it currently stands that you can only choose from two skin tones (you are either very very pale or dark).

Very disappointing.
