Why not just use Dunsparce? It has Second Bite 10+ This attack does 10 more damage for each damage counter on your opponent's active pokemon. It's Basic. Would be faster to use.

How so? If they can't use their items, they can't rare candy evolve. or laser, or dark patch or ultra/heavy/level ball or anything like that. Making them have to burn out their supporters if they can even top deck one
